Dead right..shows ya dont need screens with one sub menu after another to produce a track..the circuits here look much closer to playing a musical instrument than many of the more complex grooveboxes etc etc
You’ve officially become so good at circuit production I’m starting to question if these things are even circuits. I hope Novation have given you a villa by a beach for the amount of work you do for them.
Haha thanks! I've worked with Novation a little bit in the past (they were lovely), but I'm happy to remain independent and just make whatever I want. I've been having a great time going extra hard with this setup now that I've gotten into playing live gigs.
⚡👍 GABE! GREAT content, brother. I'm especially loving that distortion on the bass stabs! And the kick is smackin right through the mix, just excellent.
hell, I'd take it the way it is if the sequencer was longer than16/32 steps and more than 16 scenes. it's just not long enough unless your doing tight loops.
@@synthsoniq thanks, man. I own a tracks. It's just not enough for making songs. each instrument only having 4 patterns and only 16 "scenes" just got old fast. It's great for quick and short stuff though. I've since been using the polyend play and even better Roland MV-1.
I've sold everything that collects dust. Circuit tracks are very limited at only 32 step sequences it turns a lot of people away, but I don't think much exists that can run two synths, drums, side chain and reverb/delay, plus 2 inputs for $400 new. ROCK ON GABE! I pretty much got my tracks from watching you!
Great to hear what can be done in the right hands for a few hundred bucks...i dabble myself...but am getting tired of some blogs with people trying to achieve what ive just heard..they say things like should i buy such and such sequencer for a 1000 quid to go with my other 3 grands worth of equipment to make techno music..some sensible people advise get one piece of gear and learn how to use it inside out..that advice is what ive have just heard and seen..great skill..cheers
It definitely depends on what you're trying to do and how much improv or sound design from scratch you want to do, but if you're down to do some prep work, you can make a lot of pretty minimal setups crank out bangers.
Really nice jam, thank you! Also I have no idea how you do it on the Circuits, I could never get much out of mine back in the day, had more luck with the MC-707 myself. But I guess it's just different people "clicking" really well with different hardware. Mad props!
It sounds fantastic. Someone who really knows what they are doing. Would be nice to have a follow up video showing what unit is doing what and how they are connected.
Thanks! I'll have a making of video out next week. In the meantime, here's a video on how I connected the two devices: th-cam.com/video/CmLn5axfnZY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8UT8Imu06-UEtaEB
Incredible techno set, loved the entire video. It's nice being a creator who's name comes up whenever one specific piece of gear is mentioned, haha. :)
@@GabeMillerMusic o daym that really good. Do you think it could be a video topic about managing space both track-wise and memory wise on circuit rhythm?
Stellar work Gabe, but I hope (I really really hope) Novation fix midi project switching and possibly latency on Circuits' audio through. Please keep up the good work
Thanks! Stay tuned for next week's video, I show how this stuff is all built up. This video might also be helpful for seeing my approach to building a jammable live set: th-cam.com/video/5cdTkFrhNUU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=56AbnRq_ieoog-oN
@@GabeMillerMusic Oh gosh thank you! As a beginner there's a lot for me to learn! After watching your videos, I bought a MC101 this year. There's still a long roadfor me to pass.
Great job! You made a Maschine Mikro MK3 video that helped me out. Can you make another one that tells how to use the other features like Variations and Perform? Also how to export the audio as a complete song?
Great set! I'd like to see more videos on how you're creating with the Circuit Rhythm. Do you build your sounds from scratch on the unit including any techno rumble or are you preparing things outside the CR and then loading the samples?
Thanks! I'm preparing stuff on my computer and loading sounds in. I've got a bunch of walkthrough videos of previous parts of the set, and more on the way! th-cam.com/play/PLcJeAPW0R_1f6NtrkTTc7GHM212_5su8V.html
Thanks! I'm using a lot of one shots I got from Splice on the Rhythm, plus scattered other packs and self made sounds. On the Tracks, I've used a lot of sounds by A Force Truly Evil (especially his synthwave stuff) and some Tom Cosm sounds.
Awesome sets, I am going to listen a few times as I have both machines. Which synth pack do you use on the tracks please? Sounds great, do you use a compressor at the end?
Thanks! I use a lot of stuff by A Force Truly Evil for Tracks packs, especially his synthwave stuff. I did some light mastering in post with EQ and limiting.
Excellent session. I notice the volume potentiometers are very low. When I switch my CT to CR, Tracks comes out with very little volume despite raising the potentiometer to maximum. Is it normal or am I missing some setting??? (If CT I connect it directly to audio the volume comes out ok) Thanks and Greetings2...
I wish! I've been lucky enough to get an increase in live gigs towards the end of the year, so I've been continuously adding new material to my live set to keep things fresh. That constant adding/tinkering means I now have a ton of music I want to show and talk about.
A few of them are drum samples from some of my hardware and one shots from some self-made synth patches, but a lot of the samples are from Splice Sounds or packs by creators I like. A decent chunk of the Circuit Tracks patches are by A Force Truly Evil.
Gabe staying true to the Circuits, with all the GASifying noise that is spreading through the hardware scene. +10
the workflow of those is unbelievably good

they should at least sponsor him at this point 🔥

You were right four days ago, and you're still right today.
This sounds great! The subwoofers of my home theater are shaking me on the couch. It feels great, like massage therapy. I needed this after my day!
⚡👍 GABE! GREAT content, brother. I'm especially loving that distortion on the bass stabs! And the kick is smackin right through the mix, just excellent.
I love how much you do with simple hardware - it's very inspiring!
I would love it if they made a Circuit Pro that combined these two devices into one large device
Same!
Notwithstanding the drums doesn’t the polyend synth come very close to that even on price?

Exquisite man 🎉
Takes me back to The Camden Palace London when the Orange DJ’s played techno in 1990!
I really like that. Reminds me of the Shamen, perhaps with a bit of the Prodigy thrown in two of my favourite bands so no bad thing.
Nice work mate, sounds massive and awesome. Love those machines 🎉🎉
Very good, and the percussion programming is beastly.
This is a beautiful jam omg, would love to see you live at a super underground rave

my circuit tracks must be defective... it doesn't sound like that...😆😅
Wow. Bravo!!! That was really good.
YESSSSSSSSS ! :-)
That was awesome Gabe. That kick. I checked online - Novation if your reading this - colud only find ond rhthym for sale in Melbourne, Down Under.

@@GabeMillerMusic Thanks Gabe. It’s appreciated.
Stellar dude ❤
Splendid bit of jamming, Gabe. 😎
Gran trabajo 👌!!!! saludos desde Argentina!!!
Absolute quality, enjoyed this little rinse, very tidy indeed

I know you do a lot more than Circuit work, but your Circuit stuff is just really good.
I appreciate that!
This is so good! Inspiring once again!
Great work
You’re the only one who can do this
I appreciate it! Hopefully I can help others get cool results as a result of these videos as well
@ Did you sell your Akai Force? Have ypu tried incorporating to this set up?
Good point
*taps forehead*
Are you getting ready for party season? Great stuff 🤘😎👍
I played a couple of rave type events recently, hence me making a bunch of techno stuff. Glad you enjoyed it, there's more on the way!
omg that vocal, soo well placed, but it probably ate all the memory😂😂😂
Haha thanks. I pitched it up an octave before loading it in to save on sample time (and pitched it back down on the Rhythm) which helped a bit.

Gabe going hard on the circuits to get everyone amped up for them again ahead of a Circuit Pro launch? 🤔

Niiice. And I was going to sell my Tracks.. So Tracks outputs to Rhythm but Rhythm is the clock source here, right?
Yep, the Rhythm is controlling the clock and project switching of the Tracks via MIDI, and the audio of the Tracks goes into the Rhythm.
Where do you source your sounds from? Do you make any of them?
A few of them are drum samples from some of my hardware and one shots from some self-made synth patches, but a lot of the samples are from Splice Sounds or packs by creators I like. A decent chunk of the Circuit Tracks patches are by A Force Truly Evil.
