I remember hearing some episode of No Dogs In Space where they talked about a time that Bad Brains opened for Dead Kennedys and blew them outta the water apparently. Wish I'd been there
I know right, and they are so different which kinda makes it harder. I would personally go with DK, but their self titled, which was in the video, is one of their most iconic albums so it’s crazy.
These shorts have been a really wholesome way for Anthony to interact with fans/fellow music nerds. I know some of them roast users, but it's always done in good humor.
I@dopey473 It belnds a lot of different genres but I still think London Calling is the most "punk" clash album if you are going by the social commentary and messaging alone
they arent but they released all their stuff in the same years as the hardcore bands, which is why i believe they get thrown in like this the British scene had a more traditional punk sound but emerged after the American scene which by that time had moved onto hardcore
Fresh fruit for rotting vegetables is one of my like top 10 favourite albums. It is so unique and personality-filled, and the guitar and bass riffs and tones are just unmatched, East Bay Ray is a beast.
Hardcore punk was really more of an American scene thing, but its emergence occurred simultaneously with traditional punk doing well in the British scene. I get why the Clash get mixed in because they dropped their albums in the same years hardcore emerges
W=Good Choice, Anthony agrees with it Valid=Could have gone either way, and a good choice If You Want=Not what Anthony would pick, but not a bad choice L=bad choice
my problem with these brackets is people choose to interpret it as albums or artists arbitrarily. I think self titled is a monumental album but kennedys have a stronger discography
Like London Calling, their stuff sits outside any easily defined single genre, so always feel out of place in a bracket. Maybe an Art Punk bracket? Minutemen - Double Nickles on the Dime Wire- Pink Flag, Pere Ubu- The Modern Dance, Television- Marquee Moon, The Fall- Hex Induction Hour, Talking Heads - More Songs about Buildings and Food, Devo- Q?A Magazine- Real Life Fuck, depending on how that's shuffled I'm getting Minutemen against Wire and then struggling to choose

Dead Kennedys vs Bad Brains is legitimately the hardest hardcore punk question to ever be asked .
yeah for real. i could never pick those 2 albums are like my children
Fr dude, both albums are perfect hardcore

But Dead Kennedys aren’t a punk rock band, they’re a nu wave band 😂
>hardcore punk
>the clash
Half of thede aren't hardcore 😭
Lessgo! Finally, more brackets outside rap and hip hop!
That’s gotta be racist 😢

One thing I will say about that Black Flag album:
The track Six Pack is fire.
absolute banger and I reference it maybe a little too much when someone asks if we're going out for drinks later
Yeah that's a Banger, but the rest of the album is kinda boring imo
@@paulphoenix1669rise above and TV Party are iconic come on now
Up there with My War for me in terms of intro
Every track on damaged is great, its a masterpiece. Though its no fresh fruit
The peaking of Anthony's mic at the end as he's celebrating way more than he needs to 😂
London Calling losing two bracket finals in a row.. damn
Its an all time record either way
It's not even a hardcore punk album idk why it was here. They should've put MDC instead.
I@dopey473 It belnds a lot of different genres but I still think London Calling is the most "punk" clash album if you are going by the social commentary and messaging alone
If The Clash are hardcore punk then the Steve Miller Band is thrash metal
they arent but they released all their stuff in the same years as the hardcore bands, which is why i believe they get thrown in like this
the British scene had a more traditional punk sound but emerged after the American scene which by that time had moved onto hardcore
In what universe is The Clash considered hardcore punk?
Damned having a better discography when germs has one album 💀

london calling feels so out of place in this category

I would’ve picked bad brains but London calling probably would’ve ultimately won that or descendants.

This is actually Fantano when he meets a Hardcore Punk fan.
WE NEED A SHEPGOLD FANTANO COLLAB
I didn't know Nick Cave uses TikTok.
Perfect, except for Raw Power
My favourite hardcore album, London calling
Shep and fantano???
Great video as always.
"London Calling" and "Raw Power" are obviously great albums, but don't really belong in a hardcore punk bracket to begin with.
I wonder how many hours of music Anthony has listened to in his life 😅
well, punk is just not worth listening to, as opposed to something else you can listen to. we've all clocked in a lot of hours. sue (or execute) me.

Where do these brackets come from? Are they IG filters or what?

Could you explain the difference between “W”, “Valid”, “if you want”, and “L”?
W=Good Choice, Anthony agrees with it
