2 more doubts on the go.
How well does cosmetic sand do in comparison to river sand?
    Also.
Why do you think the betta lost his appetite in the first place?

      Yeah.
Finding it in stores is hard.
But I think normal stagnant water when kept for a time can and will get microbes... specifically larvae... which can be fed... however keep in mind the high protein they provide. Although betta generally have a high protein diet in the wild...

    Hi Sir
    Thank you for sharing.
I recently got an ich infestation this year in February and after doing tons of research i used ich X and raised the temperature of the tank.
I strongly recommend that you also treat the mollies and tetras tank as the ich would be living in the substrates. You can only effective treat ich when its looking for a host. If the medication specific for ich is in the water then it will kill effectively kill the ich. Once the ich is on fish body or in egg stage u cant kill it. So basically the ich only matured and fell off the body. Regular water changes also helps remove ich cysts etc. Also u need to sterilize all tanks and tank equipment as you could potentially reinfest other tanks and fishes. Best of luck in future.

      Hi Hatty
Next time you should use ich X and raise temperature to 80 for goldfish. The treatment should be for about 2 weeks with daily water changes of about 70%. Keeping all nets and utensils separately and sterilize after usage.

    I know somthing about ich
if you want solve that problem you must keep the Temperature about 30-28 degrees
And use a little salt in your tank every month(most time salt is a poisen for plants you can do this in quarantine)
be cerful about the foods and new fishes you buy
Maybe they have similar sickness ant infect the tank
Check it if you buy new fish or new food and check the Temperature regulator
beacuse low degrees is a reason of sickness
Hope your fish get better soon, God willing

So the way ich lives, it spawns, attaches to a fish, feeds, detaches from the fish, and multiplies in around 3 weeks. Unfortunately, there is no way to remove the ich once it's on the betta since it forms a cyst. Heat (26-31 degrees celsius, 80-89 fahrenheit) helps speed up it's life cycle by encouraging it to detatch from the fish and the medication/salt kills it while it's in the vulnerable free-swimming stage. Take this with a grain of salt (no pun intended), but I've heard success stories about using table salt as long as it is UNiodized salt. It has to be pure salt (Sodium Chloride) and nothing else. The first treatment would be one tablespoon of salt per 3 gallons and the strongest I recommend you go is 1 tablespoon per gallon, but that's the last resort.
