Great Video about my hometown. I am living in Hamburg since 1986 and If I watch this video, so I recognize the places and buildings and it fascinates me, how this wonderful town looks 75 years ago. Remember: That is less than one human life!

Was surprised to see a Woolworths store, didnt know they had them there that early tbh. Wonder if there is any colour film of Hamburg during late 50's early 60's showing were the Beatles etc. used to play?

Of course there is! By the 1950s, Kodachrome was available to West-German consumers, albeit it was expensive so you'll find a lot more slides (photos) rather than 8mm or 16mm home movies. There was also Agfacolor, but it was of lesser quality and didn't hold up over the decades as well as Kodachrome did.

@@hamburgchannel Es sind ALLES ELBBRÜCKEN ;-) , Norderelbe und Süderelbe .
Die Süderelbbrücke vom 19Juli ist es nicht , was Ich aufgrund der Gebäude (2:40min standbild) ausschließe und Ich dort aufwuchs (Wilhemsburg-Harburg) und unter den Brücken sogar kletterte etc .....Es könnte eine HAFENbrücke sein - katwyk etwa oder die VErbindung Veddel-Hammerbrook StadtMitte (das Haus bei 2:40min könnte das MercedesHaus sein-da war früher mal ein Stern als Leutchreklame) . Veddel - Hammerbrook Brücke nennt sich Elbbrücken und die wurden erneuert .
