Buy through this guy! I don't usually use links because I am in Canada and they quite often don't work for me. However this link not only worked but saved me almost $200 in comparison to going through Amazon. A huge thanks for making this video and for sharing your link.
Thanks very much for your review. I have a question about the plastic lid on the Carafe water container. I'm particularly concerned that this seems to extend down to about a third of the way down into the glass carafe. Kind of defeats the purpose of the major selling point of having glass instead of plastic. Will the unit still work without the lid on the glass container? And will the sensor still work which shuts off the pump?
Hi there, I did call customer service as I don't have the unit currently setup as I am using the Connect, they did say the lid has a sensor on it, so it does need to be on.
Hello, You mentioned that the rear tank is bigger on the classic. What are the benefits for the larger tank? Do you not have to fill it up as often? Thanks
Thank you for the review...just fyi the link for the carafe isn't for the AquaTru. It brings you to: County Line Kitchen Glass Mason Jar Pitcher with Lid - Wide Mouth, 2 Quart (64 oz / 1.9 Liter) - Heavy Duty, Leak Proof - Sun & Iced Tea Dispenser, Cold Brew Coffee, Breast Milk Storage, Water & More
Could you please help me choose the best system for our situation. We’re trying to be as non toxic/plastic reducing as possible. We love the idea of the glass carafe but we’re a family of 4 with 2 cats who will be drinking the water. How is the safety of the plastic with the Classic model and does it shed microplastics into the fresh water container? Is the plastic BPA free? We also will be transferring the clean water into a glass carafe to sit in the fridge for cold water!
Hi there. I would go with the Classic. The Plastic is Tritan Plastic and is NSF Certified and yes BPA and BPS Free, so you should be ok. You can save money on purchasing one through my referral link: www.bestrowater.com - Any other questions, please let me know.
I received my Aquatru Classic and my clean water tank has these little tiny cracks between the water output hole and small metal circle. Do you have this too? I got a replacement and my replacement also has it. Aquatru says they don’t know about this issue
@@SidsTips BPA and BPS free. What about BPF and the list goes on. I would not trust any kind of plastic to store water for long periods. Carafe is good but stores little quantity.
@@rahulmallah8306 I am not sure on that, but you can reach out to customer service with any question or concerns you have. Perhaps you can get a second carafe (not the unit) to put the water into.
I just got my AquaTru Carafe. I have a question. When it is done filling up I have been emptying the waste water and just putting the tank back empty. Is it okay to do that? I don’t want the waste water just sitting in the tank for very long.
The purified water tank for the classic has a build up issue in a crevice. It’s impossible to take apart to clean. I still love it, but the purified tank is not well designed. I’ve gone through three of them because I’m OCD about contamination.
I have the original Aquatru (unit on the left). it makes amazing tasting water, BUT the issue remains 1) tremendous water waste an constant refilling the rear tank. Multiple times per day for me 2) the unit stops working intermittently due to shorts in the contacts in the front tank. there are videos about this issue
We have 2 older family members. Don't think they can lift a full tap tank and place on unit. Can they empty waste water, place the empty tank on unit and fill tank with a measuring cup ?
@@NM-qm5qm I think using a measuring cup may not work out so great, especially cuz you really need to make sure to completely empty it and you're going to have to pull the tank up and it does take a little bit more work pulling the tank on the classic or connect and the carafe is much easier. But as you're saying for a family of four yeah the the craft is going to be too small. But do keep these things in mind.

Yes it should work.

I Tried the remineral filter and it tasted like alka seltzer or baking soda. Not recommended
Do you mean the Carafe with Alkaline water ?

Right. It is another Carafe/pitcher you can use with the Classic/Connect unit.

If I don’t get the alkaline mineral filter for the carafe, do I have to remineralize my water? Or is this still being done with the regular filter?
You would need to remineralize which I prefer to go with for taste.

Hi - we just got the aqua tri carafe and it stops after 48 ounces . So the pitcher is not filling up all the way . Is this correct ? Thanks !
I believe so. It filters till it reaches a level as I show in the video.
I just got my AquaTru Carafe. I have a question. When it is done filling up I have been emptying the waste water and just putting the tank back empty. Is it okay to do that? I don’t want the waste water just sitting in the tank for very long.
How many days in between uses is the water sitting?
@SidsTips sometimes it will sit overnight.
@pammeyer2185 that is fine. Just refill it when it is supposed to.
What about cleaning? How often and what do you use to clean it to prevent build up
I clean the tanks 1X a week with soap and warm water. They have a descaler if you need.
The purified water tank for the classic has a build up issue in a crevice. It’s impossible to take apart to clean. I still love it, but the purified tank is not well designed. I’ve gone through three of them because I’m OCD about contamination.

Do you find the working issue when you clean the tanks? That was the only time I had the issue, but otherwise no issues.
Buy a 5 gallon dispenser and fill up. Then u can have 5 gallons that might last you several days.
We have 2 older family members. Don't think they can lift a full tap tank and place on unit. Can they empty waste water, place the empty tank on unit and fill tank with a measuring cup ?
Why the measuring cup? I might suggest to have them go with the Carafe if weight is an issue. It is much easier to life and put back on.
We have 4 family members and would think carafe would be too small. They would be using a 4 C measuring cup.
@@NM-qm5qm I think using a measuring cup may not work out so great, especially cuz you really need to make sure to completely empty it and you're going to have to pull the tank up and it does take a little bit more work pulling the tank on the classic or connect and the carafe is much easier. Younger family members may be gone for 1- 2 week stretches at a time.
What you could do is buy the carafe and get an extra pitcher in the accessories section.
