- The men's field is deep for the first North American Elite Series race of 2022. Reigning champ Veejay Jones is on-site looking to capitalize on his staggering 2021 performance, along with 2021 mainstays Ryan Atkins, Logan Broadbent, and Mark Gaudet. Ryan Kent and Hunter McIntyre also both make their long awaited returns to the course. Will they make an immediate impact or will the rust show?

Just finished my first race (a super). It was an absolute struggle but our group finished.

These races are so fun to watch and what a fast course! I really enjoy the commentator and his insights about each athlete. Veejay is looking great.

I once met Mark Batres while in line at a Taco Shop, 2019, Salinas Spartan Course. I asked if he ever ran Spartan before lol. It was my first race.

This isn't me talking sh*t, but going back to pipe lair, many athletes touched a foot on the grass prior to hitting the bell, some big names too, not cool.
These dudes get faster and faster every race.

Fun to watch but surprised the obstacles havent changed in years, seems all about how's the fast runner now.
The fastest runner did not win this race. He said it himself in the final interview. Its the whole point of the hybrid system. Then spartan would just be American Ninja warrior. It’s about extreme levels of fitness combined with obstacles.

Not a very good event. Without more loaded carries or strength-based obstacles, these races are wayyyyy too biased towards the running specialists.
i would rather watch more obstacles and not just running backs. very annoying not able to see, how athletes are passing all these obstacles
