What I find interesting about N is that the moment someone he cares for is in danger, he becomes the most competent member of the squad. Vault holding a deadly weapon that could hurt V? Immediately breaks into said vault that was giving even the best of his squad trouble for months. Sees that Uzi is in danger? Immediately turns the tides and manages to not only defeat V, but do so non lethally.
IDK I just find it very sweet considering everyone else thinks he's bad at his job, when in reality he just has different priorities.
It's the great subtle details like this that show the love that went into making this pilot, and it's also a clear sign that he's got a gold heart, but he's stuck in a murderous role where he literally must kill to survive, and he's never known any other way of life until now. It's actually pretty sad if you think about it.
@JenkoRun ya know.... that's so true and I don't what to think now that N is gonna HAVE to kill :'( maybe.... Maybe he can find worker drones' bodies that had been already killed so he doesn't have to uh.... you know.... And the thing about this theory is that there are other disassembly drones on their way to copper 9 right now (or I mean like where we are in the series right now) So that kinda means that if he's sneaky enough and maybe with Uzi helping him, he really might not have to kill again. Although it's still pretty dark if he has to look for bodies and stuff...

I love when he says “Biscuits!” It’s so unique and catchy. N seems to be the one who will get really popular, and I’m not mad about that. He’s already my favorite, acts like a cinnamon roll (is a cinnamon roll) but could actually kill you. His tail expressions make this so much better, it’s adorable. I like N and Uzi’s relationship, whether it ends up romantic or platonic :)

I think that N killed because he didn't know any better. Afterall, he had just spawned into existence and had little experience with socializing, morality, and what is considered really bad.

He's shown twice already in this pilot that he really cares about "V", one time when he says that he doesn't want Uzi shooting "V" with the gun, and another time where he wants to fight "J" instead. He also told me not to read into that scene so I will not read into that scene.

And looking at N and uzi standing besides eachother, He is taller, but about a head taller than her. Meaning He should be about the same size as a normal human if not shorter even.
Also, he's designed and programmed to kill robots, not humans.
He'd probably be completely harmless to us.

I’m sensing a pattern. Angel Dust is well received, and N was happily accepted to be our cinnamon roll of this series.
I hadn’t made the connection, but now that I focus on it they sound similar.

Man, that whole scene where Uzi's dad leaves her to die is just incredible. The lighting, how the audio cuts out, leaving nothing but the despairing wail of the alarm. How she literally just gives up on life right then and there with this "I don't care anymore" thousand-mile stare.
My jaw dropped harder than a skrillex album. That's quality visual storytelling right there.

Dude rewatching this and looking back at the scenes with N. You can see that from his time with Uzi he started to question things and his purpose after he learns that perhaps the company is in the wrong and the worker drones are not just prey to hunt. After N learns the truth he does become more humane, especially with Uzi. Not saying that he wasn’t a good person to begin with. He never worked this because of bloodlust, he did it because he always wants to do his best and protect V. You can clearly see the hurt in N’s expression after he basically wacthed Uzi’s dad abandoning her and leaving her for dead out of fear. (I didn’t know a character could lose respect in one scene. Welp now I do.) it was heartbreaking to say the least and I feel that was one of the reasons he spared her. He didn’t see prey he had to hunt, I believe what he was a person that was left alone by someone they thought they could trust. But it made the moment where he decides to switch sides and help more impactful and it’s honestly beautiful. I can’t wait for episode two! N and The rest of the cast are truly complex characters and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I relate to struggling to put thoughts into words.
He mentions that the workers may not be as different from the murder drones than he thought, which might mean he didn't know the workers were sentient? And the moment he spared Uzi, I think he didn't just see a person, I think he saw himself (metaphorically). Being alone, betrayed, and the father not believing in the guns power, being seen as useless like that. I think he related heavily to Uzi

Something I noticed is that Uzi completely lets her guard down in that moment. She doesn’t struggle or try to fight back, she just goes limp and accepts that she’s going to die and that in that moment, she’s truly alone. From what we’ve seen early on, she’s not very popular and doesn’t have a lot of friends her age (aside from maybe Thad but I think he’s just someone she knows), and her dad *publicly* called her a disappointment and has clearly not kept it a secret from her. Her attempt to do something right and maybe regain an ounce of respect has gone up in smoke and someone she thought she could trust and trusted her has left her to die.
I think a lot of things went into N sparing her. We don’t know anything about his own past, but I personally think that if how V and J treat him is any indication, he’s not a popular guy among his own peers. There was definitely common sense in the equation because while I don’t think N knows what a “dad” is, the guy was clearly someone Uzi trusted and he betrayed that trust. I think a bit of himself reflected back at him, but I think at the same time he saw who Uzi really was under all her edge and anger; a lonely, bitter teen who wanted to do something right but instead had her whole world come down around her.
Take this however you want, but I think these two are good company for each other. I don’t know how that glitch will affect Uzi’s personality (I kinda think she sounds more like J due to the sort-of drawl in her voice versus her usual teenage snark and bursts of maniac energy) but I think her rebelliousness and spunk could help N become more assertive and gain more self-respect, and his kind nature could maybe help Uzi start to deal with the totally-not-repressed emotional baggage she totally doesn’t have and maybe let go of some of her edge.
Tbh I would like to ship N and V, but she's just really mean to him... it rubs me the wrong way given some of my own previous relationships. Uzi and N just seem happier to me. But it's all very complex and subjective, that's just my take :)

in terms of realism, the dad closing the door actually made sense, it wasn't a fatherly thing to do but his daughter was seemingly beyond saving and shooting it wasn't sure to work (as we saw for ourselves) and would have left an opening to get in, had the door been open he would have slaughtered everyone before the other two arrived our they would have arrived during the slaughter

My theory is that they die in the sunlight so that if they deviate from their objective they have a weakness that the humans could use.

I think the Murder Drones were made the way they were so that once all the workers are dead they’d either starve to death or just die in the sunlight, either way, the problem of what to do with the Murder Drones after they’ve murdered all the workers solves itself (if humanity wasn’t already dead, maybe)
He’s so goddamn precious and innocent… despite being a literal murder machine, but if he didn’t have to kill to survive he would get along so well with everyone.
And V is fun too, her simplicity in being so bloodthirsty to the point of insanity is acceptable.
J tho… she’s just kind of bitch and for no reason towards N, I mean he literally did what the other 2 could not. And she’s actually pretty useless, she got injured twice by a freaking pen then got stabbed with her own tail while monologuing.

Honestly n was pretty smart in that fight, he caused fear, flew up and out of sight so she didn’t know where he was, jumped down causing more panic and also directly disarming uzi, then he distracted her with his tail, then stabbed her with the nanitie acid ensuring that even is she did escape she wouldn’t live. After that tho he ain’t the smartest by throwing uzi right by her gun but hey how would he know it was a really powerful rail gun.

I see 2 most likely options for why the murder drones in the show need to use oil to cool themselves on a frozen planet, since Liam, the director and writer of the show is not an idiot:
1. We have seen that the murder drones have purposefully been given false information, and lack of training. They didn`t know how to use their space-ship, the company made it so that the drones don`t question or rebel against the company, they can sting themselves etc. So it is possible they have an urge to drink the oil, like hunger, but don`t know why exactly they need it.
2.The murder drones are INCREDIBLY active, with large energy reserves as we have seen. The fact that they are able to use extremely powerful laser weapons in an atmosphere, use an unknown form of propulsion to fly, and are incredibly strong, strong enough to crush weak walls and ceilings, and push apart open doors. It is possible that the low ambient temperature is not sufficient enough in cooling them, and so they need to use oil as well OR there are specific components in their bodies, like their propulsion systems, that they need to be able to cool down quickly when using them.
