- Sew my newest sewing pattern with me! The Darcy Skirt is inspired by historical and vintage fashion, and features a V-shaped waistline, a ruffled hem, and a customizable fit due to it being tied closed with ribbons.
It is available on my website at

Thank you so much for all the support. I usually do not sewing patterns, but I do get a lot of requests, so I am trying to offer a few here and there. This is the newest addition, and I really hope you will love it as much as I do!

I am late to the party, but for anyone searching for the type of fabric you see in the thumbnail, the term “toile de jouy” is your friend. Lovely skirt!
I've never wanted to sew something more in my life
Making this skirt right now! ❤TIPS: gather the skirt to the INNER waistband portions first, especially if you have a lot of fabric like me (plus size) because the stitches are a lot harder to keep straight. That way, when you finally do the front waist band, the visible sticthes will be a lot cleaner ( I know she covers that seam with bias tape but I'm not doing that). Also, I pressed in the V part of the yoke on the front part (about 0.5cm) of the waistband before stitching down so that I could actually topstitch instead of stitching and then flipping, that also helped keep the stitches and edge really clean and crisp looking!
TIP 2: since the panels are curved, that means your fabric may stretch on the bias, so I recommend hanging your skirt panels (after you've attached the waistband) for a day or two so that any stretch that may happen will happen, and then you can fix the Hem before attaching the bottom rectangular panels so that everything will be level. Also, if you have larger hips or a larger butt, make sure to put the skirt on before you level the Hem that way you can account for the way the fabric will lift up more over your body's curves.
i haven’t been this excited to sew something in a very long time. i saw your instagram story last week and fell in love with this skirt. needless to say, i screamed when i saw that you released this pattern!!
Just finished the skirt - its BEAUTIFUL - my tips - I had to unpin the bottom ruffles and relevel the hemline of the main skirt, not sure if I cut it badly or it changed on the bias as I've read a previous comment say, but check that it's falling equally before you attach the ruffles or it may not be level. The thicker the biased tape you use on the sides the more comfortable to SINCH in... i changed my thin ones that continue from the V to wider biased tape for the actual tying parts (keeping the V width small still) and reinforced it with zigzag stitchs and it is muuuch more comfortable and doesnt dig in (physics of spreading the pressure innit)
This makes me want a sewing machine omg this is gorgeous!!!!
You can sew this by hand if you don’t have a machine! It’ll take longer but you can definitely do it.
It's so sweet that you're making it for your friend!
And how have you had thousands of views on your shorts but not even 1000 subs? C'mon people!
OMGGG ♥it turned out so beautiful. could u please make a tutorial on the top you're wearing in the thumbnail and in your pfp????
Wow such beautiful skirt! I will definitely check out your pattern.
One tip i have is to make the link to the pattern clickeable and maybe also at the links to your website in your bio/about (on youtube) since i (and probably other people) often search there for peoples websites and it makes it much easier for people to find your stuff (especially on phone)!
I hope this doesnt come across as too critical, I know people can just type it from the description but yk sometimes people are lazy, impatient or miss details and I think it would be a shame if that potentially cost you a sale!
Lovely video! The fabric is amazing 😍 love the result✨️
Just discovered your channel 🥰 can't wait to see what you produce in the future too!
Do you have other patterns on your website? I saw this one and the bloomers pattern but there are some gorgeous garments that I’d love to make but didn’t see patterns for! Would you consider releasing patterns for some of the garments you sell?
Thank you! No, I am not planning on releasing patterns for the other clothes I make, but hopefully I will make others soon !
I just bought the pattern on Etsy!! What fabric is the white version of the skirt you make? It's exactly the style I am going for!
I've been holding on to this pattern since it was released waiting for a fabric that spoke to me, and I finally found it today! I'm so excited to start!
Oh I am so exited to hear this !!!! Good luck, i am sure it will be gorgeous!
What it the short little ruffly shirt that you're wearing in the thumbnail??? I would love to learn more about that. Do you have a pattern for it?
It's her Darcy Top, she sells them on her website ❤
I'm quite tall so I was wondering if there is a place marked on this pattern where I can lengthen the skirt?
Were do I find this pastorale fabric? I can only find it for curtains and that fabric is so stiff. I bought your pattern on etsy and would love to make it in this fabric 😊
beautifull skirt! 😍
Adorable Scandinavian girl
Wow, beautiful ❤
Where did you get this green Fabric from? 😊
Serging the edges would keep the fabric from fraying and give you a cleaner edge.
What sizes does your pattern include? This is gorgeous! ❤
@@haleyhoudini xs-6xl, thank you!!
Do I detect Norwegian? Så fint! Når jeg har skaffet min egen symaskin vil jeg sikkert prøve meg på dette!
Amazing video, thank youuu. I hope I'll be able to try it this summer. It looks so cute and comfortable ^^
What kind of fabric did you use for your white skirt ?
Thank you!! I used a very lightweight cotton, and i lined it using the same skirt pattern piece, in a satin fabric.
Hi! What weight of fabric do you recommend for this skirt? ❤
any fabric without a lot of stretch! If you are not using a zipper, i would recommend a lightweight fabric so it is not as heavy on the waist.
th-cam.com/video/tqNhEzrWQpY/w-d-xo.html For all the upward inflections, but the pattern and explanation was great!
That’s how we talk in Norway. It’s more pronounced in some people’s speech than others’.
@@honestitis That's interesting! I didn't know that.
