Not much has changed since I helped do this as a pathology assistant in the early 90's.

but OCT is then a temperature if it means "optimal cutting temperature " then why we call it a medium to apply on tissue in the mold?
I believe by OCT he meant "OCT compound" that is the name of the medium that he is applying on the tissue.
