It's a ganglion cyst I think. Very normal in that place. See an orthopedic hand surgeon. Don't waste your time on cortisone shots...not worth the pain, $, or time.

Yes! It is called a ganglion cyst. I had them in both of my wrists before. I had them surgically removed and I am SO GLAD I did. It was a super simple, 15 minute procedure under twilight anesthesia. I was back in nearly full commission (except for putting full body weight on my arm like yoga or push-ups) the next day. Body weight was about a month but still not too bad. I had no pain after the procedure either.

Pro-travel tip: never pack all of a person’s stuff in a single backpack/suitcase.
If the kids’ suitcase got lost the kids wouldn’t have any clothes for their trip.
If you split people’s luggage over several bags, even if one of the bags is lost, everyone will still have some of their clothing giving you some wiggle room.
(And you know, always carry some clean undies in your carry on if all bags get lost 😉)

I had the exact same type of lump on my wrist. It was caused from overuse of my wrist, can be caused from using the phone, computer, etc. Mine was from gymnastics. There isn’t any reason to have it removed unless it causes pain, my did too; therefore I had to have it removed. They’re known as “ganglion cysts”. If it doesn’t go deep they can remove it with a pretty non-invasive surgery where you don’t even have to be put under. Mine was deeper so I had to go fully under. I went to a specialists for this to have mine checked out. Hope this helps!!

It's called a ganglion cyst caused by over use of the wrist. They are difficult to remove because they can return right after they are removed. My husband has one on his wrist. She is constantly typing making these videos daily and she probably doesn't have to much pain right now but they are painful and most doctors do not remove at all.

  • @allysonmcguire7506

I had this years ago on the same wrist! It is called a ganglion cyst. It’s basically just a sac filled with fluid that forms. I’m not 100% sure why mine formed. Now mine was just like yours where it hurt every time I moved it or put pressure on it. This was because the sac was implanted on one of my joints. I went to an orthopedic who had seen this plenty of times before. I ended up getting surgery to have it removed because it never went away on it’s own and my Orthopedic doctor said that even if the fluid released on its on without surgery, it would most likely return. It was by far the easiest surgery I ever had! It was only a 20-30 minute surgery, I had no pain in recovery and was only wrapped up in a cast for about a week. I just wasn’t allowed to lift anything super heavy for about 4 weeks because I was a waitress at the time.

If it does not go away by the time you get home from VACAY I recommend you go see an Orthopedics doctor that does nothing but hands. I had something like that and it was a cyst that they went in and removed. No big deal!

You have a ganglion cyst! I have one too, had it for 3 1/2 years. It popped up out of nowhere one day and scared the 💩 out of me. Freaked out, went to the dr, got x-rays, mri (bc I have health anxiety), they tried to drain it, injections, brace, the whole shabang. I refused surgery bc I have a weird fear of anesthesia and they wouldn't do it with me awake. Essentially they would remove the sac so it can't grow back and cast you. The pain is manageable and I've learned how to pop it when necessary (temporarily relieves pain). Honestly, I don't notice it unless I do handstands or push-ups or something that puts a lot of pressure on my wrist when it's flaring up. Best of luck to your poor wrist❤️‍🩹

Looks just like a Ganglion cyst. I had one in my wrist. I would get it drained but it kept coming back so I had to get it surgically removed. I baffled my surgeon because my cyst had 2 "heads" on it so whenever one got drained the other would push its way to the top so I was just in a vicious cycle of them reappearing. Quick and easy surgery, little bit of physical therapy was needed afterward but pretty quick recovery over all.

I didn't know about the parental consent thing, until I was about to take trip to visit my family (Canada to US). Not even just a custody thing either but for any parent traveling alone with child. My husband had to stay and work so I took our daughter with me. I'm sure main reason is custody but I was also asked when crossing "and the child is coming back with you"... obviously yes. Though that would be another reason someone may travel alone with a child... C-trafficking and they have to ask and make sure both parents are aware of the child's whereabouts.
That being said they didn't even ask for that paper or anything when I went into the US 🙄 (great job *sarcasm*) but they did when I returned home to Canada (passport, birth certificate, parental consent form, and I also showed proof of marriage)

Your ‘bump’ is called a ganglion cyst. I have one in both wrists. They are surgically removed. If you don’t have it removed, years down the road it will cause further damage in your wrist. It will grow between bones and ruin the cartilage between the bones, to where the dr will have to remove a couple bones and fuse others together. I went through this twice thanks to a mother who wouldn’t get me medical treatment early on.

Could be ganglion cyst - I have something called fatty tumors or lipomas in my arms/wrists especially. They sometimes cause pain but ordinarily don't, but are also squishy/can be moved-ish. Everyone i've talked to about it, even though they're relatively large, they're in a sensitive spot of my wrist that is potentially too dangerous to operate on at the moment - at least until they grow more or something... It's a hereditary thing typically so if no one in your family has it then it's probably a cyst :P

They would take a book (usually a bible since that was usually the only big book they had) and hit the bump really hard which would cause the bump to break open on the inside. This allowed the fluid to drain out.

I work for a hand surgeon and it’s definitely a ganglion cyst. You can choose to have it drained or surgically removed. Best bet is to just have it surgically removed because it will likely come back if you just try draining it.

looks like you have the same thing i do, mine hurt so bad so i got an mri on my wrist at ortho because i got a big bump once in a while . They had me wear a wrist brace for a while to see if that helped, so i tried that but didn’t help that much but was a small change. They said you can get surgery for it but there is a chance that it will come back/ stay but a small chance it will go away. I wish you luck with you and your family for everything. Have a FAMtastic day! 💛

It appears to be a Ganglion cyst but testing will always be needed to properly diagnose. These are very common and I see many in one day. I work with orthopedic hand surgeons. Best removal would be surgically to remove the sack. Injections/aspiration are an option but those are only temporary. Some people hit it with a book but that is never a good option.. please do not do that.

The bump on your wrist is a cyst. I had one in the exact same spot. It grew around my ligaments, deteriorating them. The cyst burst and because I didn’t have ligaments my bones rubbed together. I’m sure you can imagine how painful that was. I had to have surgery to fix that. Get a second opinion if your doctor says it’s not a big deal.

Seems like a ganglion cyst. I’ve had one removed from both wrist. I always had pressure when I pushed on my wrist growing up. Once removed I can now bend fully! Highly recommend just getting it removed, not just drained. Obviously not a doctor but just thought I’d give you my input 🥰

When my parents were together when I was in grade 11, my mom went on a school trip with my brother and sister to Hawaii, while my dad and I went to Florida. Both of them needed a letter saying that they were allowed to take the children out of the country (I’m from Canada). So it can happen even when parents are married.

Glanglion cyst. It’s the joint fluid that leaks from the joint and builds up. If you go to a dermatologist they can drain it for temporary relief. They usually come back. It’s like jelly they drain out. It’s pretty cool /gross

Long Beach is my city! For the best, home made, Mexican food go to Panchos on Pacific Coast Hwy, named after the owner who also lives there, it's a little hole in the wall, they take cash only, he makes his own hot sauce, if you have the time, but be careful of the traffic circle.

Ganglion cyst. I had one on the palm of my hand that made gripping painful. The problem with only draining is that it most likely will fill back up. I had my surgically removed. Outpatient and very quick. Easy recovery. That’s been several years ago and it hasn’t returned.

I was just diagnosed with tendinitis in my shoulder, it does sound like it. It tends to hurt gradually worse over time and can come and go. The bump is probably just inflammation, and the X ray should be able to tell you if it is.

  • @alreemVacation
    @alreemVacation 2 ปีที่แล้ว

That looks like a ganglion cyst. It's not required to get it removed like you would with normal cysts, when it's drained it's more likely for it to come back. Some people smash it with a book or something either accidentally or on purpose and it never comes back or you can get it surgically removed.

Try cortisone shot first! I just had this the past year, I’m 28 I type a lottttt for work, and I had the same exact thing. I got the shot and it is better. Try it before surgery, no point in an unnecessary surgery if the shot works.

  • @LuckyClover63

It really did originally look like a ganglion cyst. But I don’t think that they would be super painful from my memory of my brothers having them. But a couple years ago my wrist did the same thing really swollen it hurt and pressure and it had something called crepitus so if you put your hand fingers lightly over the lump if you flex your wrist up or down if it makes like a crunchy feeling that’s different. I had a condition called intersection syndrome usually this only occurs after injury like I had a tiny tear in the tendon that controlled my thumb so I had that surgery a little teeny tiny incision and that was five years ago and I haven’t had a single issue since.

The parental proof to travel abroad with children is to avoid child trafficking. Sadly when a parent takes their children abroad (usually kidnapping them), often their home country, without the other parent permission, it's very difficult to get them back because of different countries laws.

I would be surprised if your lump is anything other than a ganglion cyst.
But I’m also really surprised that your Dr didn’t even mention that to you!
I mean, they are harmless, but if they bother you you can have them removed easily.
I would highly recommend going to see a dermatologist. They will take care of it for you that day in their office with local anaesthetic, but if you go to a Dr, there is a good chance that you will have to wait for who knows how long to even get it diagnosed, then they will recommend surgically removing it, which will likely be done by a general surgeon under a general anaesthetic! Which is completely unnecessary.
You will get better cosmetic results if a dermatologist does it, it will be done so much faster, and you won’t need to be put asleep in order to have a surgery, which is all unnecessary.
As a registered nurse, my advice is see a dermatologist, however, you do whatever is best for you and your family. 🙏🏼😘

I had a ganglion cyst on my right hand it went clear around my hand they did surgery on mine in March I have a 3 inch scar on the back of my hand. Mine was bigger than that it went around my wrist. See a hand surgeon don't bother with anything else. A doctor should of known it was a ganglion cyst. My family doctor knew right away what it was. She sent me to a fabulous doctor he took care of my carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel on my elbow plus did the ganglion cyst. It took awhile to heal and do physical therapy because of the carpal tunnel surgery and cubital surgery. Definitely don't bother with cortisone shots you'll end up needing surgery anyway. My surgeon never suggested them because it was so bad. Enjoy your trip. What a fun summer for your family.

The wrist thing is a calcium build up. U can smash it with a book (ik it sounds stupid) but it works and bteaks it up. Or just let it go and it will go away in time. No worries :) ganglion cyst is what its also referred to no worries girl
