I think in the movie Bonnie and Rochelle were messed with in the end because they went along with Nancy making Sarah feel afraid, helping to create harmful illusions and putting out threatening and evil energy towards Sarah so they got back 10 fold what they put out there.
I actually love this movie but it's probably because it was out during my teenage years. Also the actors who played Nancy and Rochelle are witches in real life and are good friends. In fact I have Rachel True's Tarot deck. It's called True Heart Tarot.
Fairuza Balk also saved the witch shop from shutting down. It was going to after the production ended and be turned into a restaurant if she didn’t. Thankfully it is still open!
I love The Craft, long live the 90s version!!!!! The one and only version for me . They enter the circle with "Perfect Love and Perfect Trust" and they are in a beautiful forest (I love this scene). Also, I would add that there are different types of witchcraft paths, so if a person is familiar with this particular path, it makes sense.
This was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. I think that Nancy became jealous of Sarah because she was a natural witch and Bonnie and Rachel grow to like Sarah until Nancy took in the power of Manno.
completely agree! With bonnie I believe she got egotistic with the way she flaunted her body instead of respecting it as a temple and she wasn't evoking a sense of confidence with respect. Bonnie started to use her body for only attention from boys even at a funeral. Also the natural witch part def intimidated Nancy which is why Nancy turned her away a bit in the beginning until initiation. I watched part two which was good. With the elemental part they express it at initiation and the invoking ceremony...Bonnie represented fire as confidence and physical sexuality, Rachelle represents water for healing her relationships and herself emotionally, Nancy was air because she wanted all the knowledge of Manna, Sarah was earth so she could be the "natural witch" since natural witches are supposedly most attuned to nature and the earth.

I get wanting more, but there’s only so much they can do in a two hour movie. If it had been a series, then yeah. Also, Rachel’s hair wasn’t actually falling out, and Bonnie’s scars didn’t come back. They terrorized Sarah with powerful illusion spells, so when she decided to fight back, she threw their own spells back at them. Being a natural witch, Sarah was innately stronger than all the rest of them. In fact, I’d argue that her presence is what caused their powers to grow. Had they found another fourth that wasn’t a natural witch, they wouldn’t have been as powerful as a collective.
I think it was her blood that made their powers grow. Honestly I think it was a trick so the other 3 could drink her blood to gain some of her power cus Nancy was jealous af from jump.
That was the first movie that introduced me to a different side of spirituality besides religion. And as I began my spiritual journey I wanted a break down of what it actually meant. It is still one of my favorite movies. Thank you for the explanation though, you did a good job of putting things into perspective as to what the moral is.
I thought it was very entertaining and some realistic scenes. It did make me appreciate being a Solitary because sometimes the energy in 'Covens can get so thick you can slice it with an athame.😉

Watched the movie years ago. I think taking into consideration that it was made in the 80"s gives reason for it slow pace. With the change of CG, graphics and visual intensity most definitely makes this movie a slow ice melt. Lol. But for the awakening time period it was made in, it touched on revealing the secrets of "the occult." Lol

The mirror revealed what would happen to them if they stayed there with Nancy... that's why they ran out of the house with the quickness...lol

The Craft is one of my fave witch films even as I've gotten older and realized that the narrative has several issues, but what piece of creative work doesn't. To me, Bonnie and Rochelle especially got the worst framing because Bonnie just wanted to remove her scars and not feel insecure and Rochelle just didn't want to have folks being racist towards her. Of course, there's a lesson in not being too quick curse folks, but there's also a context for that concept.
