    how long do you get to iron when at kapooka? spare time? not much info out there on that in particular. good video

    • @Ashapplications
      @Ashapplications  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good Question. You are fairly cramped for time at Kapooka, especially when you have night lessons. My advice is to ALWAYS be preparing. Prepare for your next lesson. Prepare for your next day. Prepare for the day after that etc.
      Ironing skills and fitness should be honed prior to you setting foot on Blamey Barracks.
      I have follow up information to complement this vid on my website: ashapplications.com.au. The ironing blog goes into more detail with sectionalized photos for DPCU/AMCU and polys.
      Hope this is helpful.
      Thanks for taking the time to comment; much appreciated.

    Great tutorials! Can you link the iron/steamer you are using on your uniform in the video? Or something similar if that one isn't available. The uniform looks impeccable! Thanks.

      G'day cadelgado27, thanks for viewing and the positive feedback. The steam iron I use is a few years old now so the exact iron may not be still available. I have attached two links; one to my website where I explain in more detail the ironing process. The second link is to an iron similar to what I use. The steam generators are by far the best to use for uniforms. Much better than a simple iron.
      Hope this helps.

      G'day tea/party_tee, I have posted a link to wearing a ribbon bar which covers some aspects of pins and badges and also how to place a hat badge on a pugaree.
      Let me know if you still require a vid if these do not help.
      Thanks for the question.

    Very thorough and detailed videos so far Ash, If only these videos were around back when I was off to Kapooka . Any Idea on what else you've got in the pipeline as far videos go?

      Thanks Peter, I was thinking the same thing. I have several more (five) loaded onto the channel as of now. I have polish/care of the R.M. Williams and baxter parade boot due out within the next week. Also care of the slouch hat accouterments is a concept I will look at developing. Other than that I am open for suggestions. I will try to meet requested subjects. Thanks for your feedback.

    Great video Sir!! Question, I thought you weren't suppose to use starch on polyester because it tends to burn the material so my question, is this shirt 100% polyester or does it have a cotton blend? The shirt looks incredible by the with using starch by the way.

    • @Ashapplications
      @Ashapplications  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G'day Leslie, you are correct the shirts are polyester/cotton blend (65/35). Starch certainly helps obtain a great finish with sharp creases. I have other helpful hints in my other vid for ironing polyester trousers. Thank you for your feedback. Regards Ash.

    The care instructions says dry clean only, what washer settings should I use?

    • @Ashapplications
      @Ashapplications  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G'day mate, good question. I just wash them on a normal setting, so a full wash cycle of a least 15min, rinse and spin. The key element is to only place polys in the wash. Separate them from all other clothing. You can iron them straight from the spin cycle as they are slightly damp and more easily ironed. Hope this helps. Regards, Ash.

    I thought we shouldn't iron our Polyester Uniform straight without a cloth.

    • @Ashapplications
      @Ashapplications  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no requirement for a cloth. Just use a good quality steam iron and starch. A cloth is used when ironing the brim of a slouch hat. Feel free to see my video on that; link in the discription. Thanks for your comment.
