Hey y’all! Didn’t get to showcase it in a video but my Tea Time shirt is on sale until Thursday August 8th at 11:59pm! Check it out: www.bonfire.com/the-anime-tea-tee/
Also I hope no one is tired of me talking about Keiko Nobumoto. I made a video on her 2 years ago right around the time she passed away and I wanted to create something more informative and meaningful to her legacy. She will always be a writer I look up to.

I wasnt watching you 2y ago, so I'm glad you chose to make another video about her, as I was a HUGE fan of Wolf's Rain as a teen and I didnt know how much Nobumoto's early works touched me as well.

Keiko Nobumoto, I hope is remembered alot more. A creative heavyweight who deserved alot more flowers alot sooner for her work on so many greats. Wolf's Rain, Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop, Kingdom Hearts & Tokyo Godfathers. Just an amazing person and woman in the field🙏🔥

Macross Plus, not only the mature story line, the visuals were stunning. One of my wish is the series to be release as IMAX, imagine all the sky and dog flight filled the screen in IMAX format. It'd be surreal.

You don’t know how much I deeply appreciate this. Like you I also saw the original airing of Wolf’s Rain on adult swim/toonami for its brief showing and it stayed with me forever. Over the years the meaning of the anime and its themes have only deepened with reflection and I’ve grown to really understand that the “Screenplay “ is such a powerful component of storytelling and how each person brings life to it.
I’ve been scrounging to try and find interviews or anything about Nobumoto, education, career, interviews to get closer to understanding how could someone be lead to write something as resoundingly poignant as this anime.
I couldn’t find much as you say she rarely spoke of her own work but the fact you found these comments from people she worked with does so much to raise awareness of her influence. I had no idea she did consultation for kingdom hearts (probably kh1’s) story.
I’m a KH fan, Bebop Fan champloo fan and to realize one of my favorite tropes that is often only in such niche but amazing works that were before disconnected islands all make sense now because of how keiko nobumoto writes. To realize so much of what I love about such humanistic writing and connection between characters, people is attributed to her is so deeply bitter sweet because of her passing there’s nothing more to be said we can never get more answers.
Which is why with what you contributed here I’m happy to get a little more context. So thank you and I will be checking out some of these other works she was involved in.

I’m so glad you told me about this woman. She’s been behind a lot of my favorite anime from childhood onwards and I had no idea until today that she even existed. Thank you

THANK YOU SO MUCH for creating this video!
I LOVE Tokyo Godfathers, and I have always been captivated by the mood and themes from Wolf's Rain.
I had no idea who Nobumoto-san was and how much she provided to all these amazing animation works.
    God bless!

Thank you for this. I caught fragments of Wolf's Rain on it's initial US run. But i was enamored with it's soundtrack for years before i got to watch it in full.

Thank for you for this video. I didnt know about Keiko Nobumoto's impact on all these characters and stories I love growing up. She really pours a lot of heart in her characters!

I appreciate you highlighting this creator. She was extremely talented and wolf's rain is one of the most creative anime I remember watching growing up because of the visuals and story telling. It reminded me of Metal gear solid which is a Japanese action/sneaking videogame about poetically dystopian warzones. I love the unique way the Japanese culture conveys it's stories and history in all the media. Thanks for this.

Thank you for this video. MACROSS PLUS was the first time I noticed Keiko Nobumoto's work; being a fan of MACROSS--through ROBOTECH--I remember when MP came out in Japan and when it hit the US and the excitement of this new series.

I really need to rewatch Wolf's Rain to see if I can make more sense of it now. I haven't watched it since I was too young to understand it and I don't think I'll ever fully get it but I might do slightly better now

Incredible well-done video again! Nice to see more of an appreciation for women within the anime industry. Also, it's nice to see some of the favorites anime I've seen that Keiko Nobumoto worked on.

6:46 that's a requirement for Japanese work culture. Theyre basically forced to go out drinking after work with their team and bosses. If they dont go or don't drink it really hurts their careers and makes them look like they arent a team player. Its actually a huge problem with the work culture. Because even off work they still have to be working basically. The weekly outings are mandatory.

    • @misericorde3870
      @misericorde3870 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

That's usually the case, though it seems it worked out here for Cowboy Bebop. The situation here may be different as the boss may have been so remote to not be there, and at this time those going for drinks might not have family. One thing that seems to help it make it a lot less toxic is that the drink sessions involve business talk, the worst ones avoid bringing work topics to the table and are instead focused on digging dirt in a power play over lower-ranked staff.

I am grateful for the work on Cowboy Bebop
    As my introduction to anime
The core of the series was the characters and their relationships
This set the bar for the heart of any anime

    RIP Keiko and Kon .
It also shows that Cowboy Bebop live action probably had no idea what they were doing because they only invited Watanabi to the production and they should have had her write it because it was awful and missed everything point the animated made 😂
