Hydra is tough early since you need to hit so many good stat breakpoints for survivability even on the normal difficulty. Resistance is your friend, anyone you can get with resistance aura or abilities that boost it, cleansers are a huge help as well. Why it isn't a bad idea to at least put the basic level 3 into resistance for your Great Hall when you have plenty of bronze-gold medals laying around early game. Otherwise it's difficult to focus on it early game since a lot of your champs are stretched thin and being used in other areas of the game and you are still building up a supply of good gear.

I personally prefer Mordecai over Artak as a burner. His burn isn't trigger anything, ignores poison cloud. I boosted him with damage too. Absolutely love it. I also used chancellor Yasmin for hydra, until I got Monkey boy. Because her a3 removed buffs. She is so underrated! Pulled 14 copies in like 5 months, kept 5 of them. Don't ask why...I feel like I might need them and I have one in each of my Hydra teams for now😂 this was very tense to watch!! GG🎉

I do think mordecai is a decent hydra champion. Getting around poison cloud is great, Tm boost and increase att for the team as well. I think it would be a mistake to run him over artak, though, unless you really need the inc attack buff. Artak has a 3 turn CD for his burn, aoe Dec attack, can extend the burns, and is an hp based champ so has ton more survivability than mordecai. In addition, the fact that every attack is an aoe makes him do a ton of damage, both naturally and via warmaster, and the aoes work great with sets like cursed and provoke vs hydra. Just to reiterate, this isn’t to put mordecai down, just point out how op of a champ artak is in hydra

I find that I can overthink sometimes. It is easier to just auto when I do that. I find that I can get better results. I will manage which head is being attacked, though.

the best way to use geo in hydra is to burn wrath, reduce its damage and its also the best damage out of geo :P
