It is true that people choose on whether to act on those feelings, or to express them. There's also the issue of why you believe in the rule of not dating a friend's ex. If it's out of respect, then that kind of implies you think your friend, their ex, still has the right to have some sort of input in the relationship. That's BS, frankly. People have no say in who their exes date. If the reason you don't believe people should date friends' exes is because it can cause tension in the friendship for other reasons, then the question you should ask is whether more tension is created by dating them or by not dating them. I don't think it's a simple yes or no question. Let's say for example, that a friend dates someone for a short while. There's not much of a connection in the end. Now let's say you develop a strong connection and honestly see the possibility of a serious, long-term relationship. I'm 17, turning 18 soon and I'm in a similar predicament. I don't think it's that they don't trust you, but more that they don't trust the boy, but then again idk the specifics of your situation. I think the best thing you could do is talk to your parents about the boundaries you feel comfortable with. The rule that you broke, do you think getting in trouble was warranted? If not, talk to them (if they're the type of parents that allow you to voice yourself without any extreme repercussions). I think you should also talk to him, I feel like people our age are never direct because we fear rejection or can't really properly voice our concerns, but the best thing you could do is be straight up about any questions you have concerning him distancing himself. And remember that if he doesn't want to be with you because of your parents, then that's fine. We're so young that people are gonna come and go, a relationship should add to your happiness, not define it, so don't let this stress you out too much. Good luck!
I think he stopped talking to you because he doesn’t consider what you did as wrong. He doesn’t want to date someone who can’t go out and have fun like a regular couple. You are now a adult. Why follow your parents rules so strictly? Love is a magical thing. Go explore it! Protect your heart though. If a man tells you he loves you within a short time of dating he is just using you.

They said that until I get my car gets paid off, they are not going to press paying my phone bill just yet. I am not in college yet and may be taking a gap year or a gap semester if I graduate high school.
