The DUCHESS chose her charities carefully. Her role in main part she knew would be that to which she has taken to so well...as a Mother. She is hands on and Ber diary must be full. So as her charities..chosen by her included a children's hospice I think says an awful lot about this young lady. How heart wrenching it must be to go visit as she regularly does and stay for up to 4 hours at a time. Personally..I'm not sure I could do that. But..aside from fashion n beauty which to me it seems she just knows what's good on her n she has the height of a model..hair...let's be honest girls....slight hair envy going on!!! ??? Catherine is what one might call..strong silent type. Respects the position she is in which has enabled her to befriend her children's nanna!!!😊 They are close...Queen n the Duchess. She just fits in as if born to it. It can't be easy juggling so many things but the charity...as I mentioned is selfless choice and I for one have to admire her for that. She has to be very strong and solid. William n Catherine did the right thing....they really got to know each other and looked ahead without blinkers before embarking on their unique life journey together. I wish them health and lots of happy times.

I support the Royal, of course, I am seeing the good points to having Royal as the head of state. Likewise, you are against it, that's why you only see the bad sides of having the Royals. Above all, I have said "in my opinion", haven't I? Everyone is entitled to have his/her own opinion. If I am stupid by saying something YOU don't like to hear, then YOU are STUPID to me by saying I don't like too.

Kate is SO BEAUTIFUL inside AND out!! William couldn't have picked a better woman to marry! I LOVE how genuine she is and there's absolutely NO doubt she takes her role VERY serious as a wife/duchess/future queen consort/royal in general. She always has the good of EVERYONE involved in mind at all times instead of being up her own @ss, ONLY worrying about herself! UNLIKE other wives in the family who shall remain nameless! Kate has been through her fair share of problems with the media/press that she dealt with for years yet you don't see her throwing in the towel, running away crying about it OR threatening to quit! And that's how you KNOW she's in it for all the RIGHT reasons. Its evident those ppl are just hateful @ssholes with nothing better to do so who really gives a crap what those ppl say anyways! UNLESS what they are saying about you is actually true which seems to be the case for a certain someone and bc of it she's choosen to run off and bury her head in the sand bc she cant take the heat!!

Catherine *is* a Princess, she became one as soon as she married a Prince. However, since William was made a royal Duke on his wedding day, she also got the title of Duchess, since the royal Duke/Duchess title is a higher one than a Prince, she's known as 'The Duchess of Cambridge' first.
Prince Charles' highest title is the Prince of Wales, but Camilla is known as the Duchess of Cornwall (his second highest title) because of Diana.
A Duke or a duchess is a higher rank than a prince??
A Duke is not higher than a Prince. A Prince with a Dukedom,however tramps a Prince without one.To be a Princess you need to be of royal blood.

For those who accuse the Royal family for living in luxury without thinking of the poor.... In my opinion, almost all the heads-of-state in the world are living in luxury. Some of them even keep the country's money for their own. There are also rich people who don't give a damn about the poor. Why don't you blame them but the Royal? Royal doesn't earn TOO MUCH as compare to other heads of state. Use your brain and common sense to think, not your bias and hatred.
Great to see that Wills is treating his wife with the respect, with the love douche bag Charles never treated Diana. She taught her sons well. Charles was NOT a very good example, he was, however, a horrible warning of what NOT to do.

I agree to a certain extent with what you say. Of course we have to remember that times have changed since thirty years ago. That dire reply from Charles on their engagement "whatever being in love means" was just so embarrassing and cringe making, he was so immature in those days, as was the very young Diana. Too many expectations could be very damaging but I think these two will be alright.

Mark Gable I don't know if it's necessarily easier even if you are born into it - it didn't work out terribly well for royals like Princess Margaret, Stephanie of Monaco or even Diana herself (she might not have been born royal but she was pretty close to it - she was Prince Andrew's childhood playmate and had known the royals all her life). The ones who seem to be doing a cracking job of princesshood are actually the "commoners" such as Princess Mary of Denmark, Princess Rania of Jordan or yes even Duchess Kate.

Then out of the blue she tragically died in a car crash in Paris. The very same public went into unparalleled grief the likes no one had ever seen before.
Mark Gable I think it was something to do with the Cinderella syndrome - everyone loves the story of the young girl who married the handsome prince (even though Charles isn't exactly an oil painting lol) and even after the divorce she was very good at portraying herself as the fairy princess (the British tabloids used to call her "Teflon Di" because nothing stuck) but the "happily ever after" bit didn't come true . . .

Just going to point out that the Queen IS in fact head of state and the Commonwealth (even though thats primarily a title now). And if you refer to the practice of the House of Commons and the Prime Minister, the Queen as head of state can actually choose whether to listen to the public vote and appoint the elected, or decline to do so. The Prime Minister serves as the primary representative of the House of Commons and servers the Queen.

Golden Cage? I think there is nothing more satisfying than serving the people which Catherine seems to enjoy, she's in love as well. Then you do get to go to amazing places, meet fascinating people good and bad and those exclusive holidays. You can't be working everyday so, yeah Lady Di had a bad time cos there were three in her marriage but, if it had just been her and Charles maybe it would have been a happier story. I think anything can be a cage if you think that way which that commentator seems to think but it can't be that bad cos they would all get sick and end up in mental asylums. Diana was unhappy cos Charles was having an affair and didn't have any proper support to help her deal with it and that is why William made sure his bride had a healthy family life/support before he asked her to marry him as there will be ups and downs in any life/marriage
Exactly right. Their lifestyle is daunting but manageable if you have support from husband and family. Diana wasn't stressed out bc she was a royal she was miserable bc she had no support or love from husband.

@astridbelge. The royal family serve there people from the moment there born until there death, a royal is already going on a sate trip to America at the age of 5! The commoners have it easy compared to the royal family, if your a 13 year old boy and your royalty well you don't get a summer holiday like your friends, your off going around Europe shaking hands with ambassadors! It is hard work something I think you don't know about.

christina slay Let's just say, they have a different personality and very different circumstances. Diana was too young then, Kate was of age when she joined the Windsors. Diana had no time adjusting while Kate had about 9 years to test the waters before plunging in. Diana's husband was incapable of supporting her while William is the complete opposite. Diana set out the template for future royals especially for Kate and Meghan, all they have to do is create their own path using Diana as their guide.

The Duchess of Cambridge does NOT hold a candle to the late Princess of Wales, in terms of beauty, OR fashion. I find her looks to be rather dowdy. And, her style is wholly too predictable, as well.
