Going to have to disagree, while nurgle recruitment and infection economy is weak early on the snowball that is possible with a nurgle campaign is completely fucking abusrd. Instant recruitment 20 stacks with near limitless hero capacity, rank 7 recruitment off the rip with research and other effects.
I completely agree, even if Festus is strong in the early game, the other three can confederate each other very easily with the help of cults. Sure Festus can lower the cost of plagues by 25%, but Khugath and Epidemius can lower plague costs by 15% each, among other benefits.
How can you disagree when you agree with his points. 🧐 Every faction snowballs eventually, it's just a question when and Nurgle is the slowest getting there with possible the exception of Ogres, meaning you'll sit around doing little or fending off much stronger opponents. The issue is as he explained in the video is resource, unit, and gold starvation early game. Once you have all of these sufficiently covered with Nurgle the campaign is over already.
You can recruit an instant stack sure, but my god your income sucks. I still think upkeep on most nurlge is too high, you can barely afford to full stacks even after 50 turns.
When you get 0 turn immunity, 6-7 turn time plauges as Epidemious you constantly have your buffs. I especially love the attrtion plauge with this combo and just run into enemy army piles and see them waste away. I imagine Ku’ghat late game plauges to be even more devastating. Though admittedly it can be pretty rough getting there.
I ended up hero spamming in my mono god nurgle campaign. You increase capacity at tier 3 for all heroes which is very easy to get to playing nurgle. I never felt like I got that many infections from battle and the post battle option only offers +37. Even with the infection buildings I never felt like I had enough to use plagues and build an army. Especially with the advanced buildings costing 400 infections to start. Plus they cycle so slowly. Hero spam with some basic units to fill out the army is so much easier. It’s also very strong in battle and auto resolve.
you could argue that tammy on bubelos and fully kitted out with traits and gear could kill enemies off quicker than festus if you discount spell usage, otherwise blight boil and stream of corruption will kill massed infantry quicker than charging bubelos out but for single entities bubelos would perform better
It bothers me a little that hes not a nurgle character, is there a reason they dont move him and the others who are clearly more dedicated to one chaos faction than others into those factions? Its would make those factions much more complete. Have the likes of "daniel", archaon and balekor as undivided factions sure.
honestly Festus and Tamurkhan probably should've been the other way around. Festus is more of a cult leader than a warrior, he certainly shouldn't be leading Warrior of Chaos warbands around. his armies should be filled more with cultists and Daemons meanwhile Tamurkhan is a Warrior of Chaos leader. frankly it'd be pretty accurate to put him in a Sigvald situation, Undivided but still leaning towards Nurgle (that kind of situation actually fits much more for Tamurkhan than for Sigvald, Sigvald does belong in the Warriors of Chaos but he should be Slaanesh only like Azazel), after all after winning at Zambaijin Tamurkhan had followers of all 4 gods in his army. at the time that he fought Karaka Breakmountain (his current body in-game) he was actually using the body of a Chaos Lord of Slaanesh that had killed his previous host at Zambaijin (it seems like a recurring thing that Tamurkhan really isn't any good at actually fighting, he's really carried by his ability to just take over the body of whoever killed his previous host)
It was very lore accurate though and he needed overpowered plagues to even be playable. I realize if we balanced units from the lore Nurgle would be unbeatable and that would truly be busted, but I'd download that mod in a heartbeat, because funny. 😁
a little correction : Festus does not have access to full nurgle roster. No chaos furies of nurgle, no toads (both variants), no rot flies, no plague drones of nurgle with death's heads :)
The nurgle Infection economy is stronger than the cash economy late game in my Tamurkhan Campaign. Cults and commandments finally catch him up with a huge empire to a plague every turn. The real nurgle economy though.. bleh. Especially compared to the other two new lords.
no, he's exclusive to Tamurkhan (tested as Epidemius, Be'lakor, and Festus). if you're playing as any faction besides Tamurkhan he just starts with Kayzk.
I saw in todays patch that infections were increased from 37 to 100 - Does this affect all the nurgle campaigns? Or more-so does the change affect Skaven plaque?
@@quasidoc7726 all Skaven except Clan Eshin have one method of spreading Plagues (the Pestilent Scheme) and Clan Pestilens has a second method via their undercities but they don't have the same plaguemaking mechanics as Nurgle does. the Skaven don't have a system to make new plague effects. all Skaven plagues are the exact same one plague. How easy nurgle can get hero capactiy really is crazy strong.
I'm re-running a festus campaign. i like that he can upgrade trolls to bile trolls and rot knights. excellent units.
Not a issue at all. Just like Chorfs, nurgle starts really slow, but later on you get so many infections that you just have fun and experiment

but you can't get the achievement for nurgle playing Festus?

At least they removed the ultra broken plague combinations. Like 40% physical resist for the whole army was just silly.

Yeah...festus unlimited healing + nemesis crown is just unbeatable. As long as you got magic you win.
I want more Chaos in fighting they are so friendly with each other.

What is your nvidia filter setting ? My god i like the look of your game mine is fade lol
Details for Clarity ( and everything else neutral ), Colors for Vibrance

Does he still have "vassal refuse to join war problem"
I just want to spread nurgle flood lands into the empire. I dont have festus so i took the scribe guy and ran him down abandoning my starting area

Yes to Nurgle, not Skaven.
Skaven Plagues aren't affected by infections at all. currently infections are exclusive to Nurgle.

It is just me or your game has different colors? More saturated?
it's always there in Costin videos. Either the video saturation was increased in editing or he plays with reshade/some other shaders
He has a video explaining his settings, it's mostly sharpness and saturation. If you want to go further there's also ReShade.
@@Gr_ywind I will check it out, thanks!
What's the point of a festus campaign when you can just play as Archaon or Belakor and confederate tho?
This is bothers me and when you play a nurgle faction you can't confed him either, makes no sense to me.
For if you don’t want to be undivided.

One thing I’m tired of, CA takes months and months to create unique DLCs and then content creators pick it apart. Starving for content aren’t we.
First
fk Nurgle still garbage. Bel'akor is best just use a confederation mod to get the lords they're fine but the faction itself is just annoying.
