Elvis Presley has been described sometimes as a baritone, sometimes as a tenor. An extraordinary compass - the so-called register - and a very wide range of vocal colours partly explain these differences of opinion. The voice covers two octaves and a third, from the low G of a baritone to the high B of a tenor, extending upwards in falsetto to at least D flat. Presley's best octave is in the middle, from D flat to D flat, which allows him to go up or down a notch. He can be described as a high baritone. In "It's now or never" (1960), he ends with a full-voiced cadence (A, G, F), which has nothing to do with the vocal devices of rhythm and blues and country music. This A note is hit right on the nose, and is only made less astonishing by the number of tracks where he lays down easy, precise B-flats. What's more, he hasn't limited himself to just one type of vocal production. In ballads and country songs, he delivers high Gs and As in full voice that an operatic baritone might envy. He is a naturally assimilable stylist with a multiplicity of voices - in fact, Elvis's is an extraordinary voice, or several voices. 👑

C’est la voix d ´Elvis qui a enchantée le monde entier pas celle du chanteur FrancoBelge !

È stata la voce di Elvis a incantare il mondo, non quella del cantante franco-belga!
