Max wasn’t in love with Ms. Cross, he was in love with the idea of her. If he did supposedly have sex with her it would fulfill Max’s ego of being cool, and being popular not helping his future of improving his grades And Ms. Cross doesn’t love Max, she loves Max’s attitude, and charisma he has which reminds her of her dead husband. the love they had for each other was never meant to be romantic but endearing, and flattering. Their friendship was true.
"I can safely say I've never met anyone like you either." That is the exact opposite of what you should say if you are trying to brush someone off. Even if you are just being polite.
You know , and I don't like to make a whole big thing about it or anything, but as an actor, and having some level of experience in writing, this scene between Max and the Brilliant Mrs. Cross is interesting, but falls flat in the end. I think that I can speak for everyone. The scene would have been perfect if Max had slid his hands under Mrs. Cross's sweater and Fondled her pert breasts @2:25. I hope to help Wes Anderson with MAX (Rushmore II) that is due to be released for Christmas.
What you're suggesting would be out of character for Max: He's not a pervert. Thus, your comment only speaks for the abilities you lack as an actor, and, especially, as a writer. (Not that I believe you're either.) P.s. It's Ms. Cross. Not Mrs. Cross. If you disagree with my comment on 'The Black Intellectual and Western Society', please address it there.
@@Navenanthen You know, and speaking from the Actors Perspective, you don't understand the Teenage dilemma of living in Reality and Fantasy simultaneously. These are difficult concepts for the Non Actor or Casual Observer to understand. At least Wes understands this and, I believe, made several other "mistakes" with Rushmore. With my help, and the wisdom of Mrs. Cross (a fine actress with a fine pair of Yabos) we can make MAX (Rushmore II) everything the Rushmore intended to be. Don't miss MAX ! In your favorite movie theater this winter.
Wes Anderson's obsession with making every shot symmetrical is nothing more than a total distraction that draws too much attention to himself and away from whatever bullshit story he's trying to tell, while also showing his visual sense is totally one-dimensional. He's really a terribly overrated director. I have no idea why any studio would fund this pedestrian garbage when there's actual artists out there trying to get their films made.
@@ashercohen8440 Sure did. To me this is so derivative and pedestrian. Zero vision. Just a five year old showing off his toys. 28mm lens for this sequence is a bad choice, considering he's only using 1/3rd of the frame for the entire clip. The obsession with symmetry is just annoying and self-referential.
When I first saw this movie I thought perhaps Olivia Williams was the most beautiful woman ever filmed.
every time i watch it
You're damn right. She's sexy as hell in The Postman too. ✌️👽
You're goddamn right!
I good to know so many fifteen- year-olds appreciate good cinema.
But because she’s an adult and Max is a minor, that would be an illegal relationship
Amazing movie, really. It's underrated considering everyone loves The Royal Tenenbaums and this one doesn't get nearly as much attention.
Both great i heard royal tenenbaums grows to become most peoples fav over time or something
nobody underrated this. so stfu and find something else to whine about.
Same thing with Reservoir Dogs. A lot of people who claim to love Tarantino because of Kill Bill haven't even heard of it.
Tennebaums sucks in comparison to Rushmore. It really does. This movie has TRUTH.

Nah mate u got it all wrong, the person he was interested in fucking was that kids mom, thats why that scene with her was important.
That's a great insight. It is true.
Max also lost his mother. He is looking for a maternal figure, Ms. Cross fits that
She is an amazing actress.. she sells her character perfectly!
An amazing actress with a fine pair of Yabos.
The first time i saw her in this scene,
I can't breathe.all my emotions are hard to describe.
The most beautiful English woman.
And that's how you let a woman know where you stand
you want me to grab a dictionary?
Lmfao
This movie is oddly romantic
Anyone who's ever experienced romance knows how odd it is.
Idk what it is, but Max is incredibly cute.
I AGREE
He’s very charming and well spoken
She is 12 years older than Max and 18 yours younger than Mr. Bloom
This Wes Best movie right after Budapest, man Jason was amazing considering this was his debut.
i love this movie

He reminds me of my late brother in this film.
I like your Nurses uniform, guy!!!!!!!!!
Nurse: "these are OR scrubs"
Max:"OR they?"😂
@heidiheisele8608 Why can't I have a lil drink!?????
Today, this would be very convenient
wanna shake hands?
Max does get her in the end(kinda)
No he doesn’t tf 😭
@@railway9710 Well, he at least gets to kiss her once.

Age is nothing but a number.... If there was a real relationship that is the stepping stone...
bruh
I agree, but age does matter here, not necessarily because of the consent factor, but also compatibility.
Ok pedo

I'm not interested. Have a nice day, ma'am.
