For a story about meeting some guy at the gym, Geoff made it pretty *heavy*. Now I have this sad feeling *weigh* down on me.

my dad was a mail man and saw a lot of different kinds of people. can confirm from his stories that old people who talk a lot is usual due to a deceased spouse
The dead wife thing is probably true. I work retail and I can not tell you how many times I have heard customers just come out with the "well, my wife's mind kinda went and she can no longer take care of or feed herself" or the "well my husband died a few months ago and I am still having to adjust to living alone" and it is terrible because their story does not relate to your work in any way but you can't just be like "well that sucks" and walk away, you feel obligated to listen to them for a bit.
Of course the old guy can withstand punches. Everybody there has stick arms.

I'm glad my gym isn't like that. It's nice to meet people and have a conversation, but I just like to work out and think about stuff. If anything I'll just talk to people while I'm on the treadmill, that way I'm not too focused on getting winded while I'm running or jogging.

the gym guy kinda looks like my TKD instructor. When he speaks of building your core we'll have the people he's telling to punch him in the stomach. He doesn't do it often just when focused on core exercises.
