Few of mine suffer from paint rub a little but these are personal figures that I unfortunately didn’t sand properly and would never be sold , proper prep time and loving is always key if you’re selling your product, people pay out the arse for our time and money you’d expect that the product isn’t falling apart in your hands
@@SymbioteSeeker gotta tell the truth, we’re both British mate you know how we are about hard work, can’t sell something that a kid could possibly pick up and get paint chips in their mouths, it’s a fine art and like most art shit doesn’t sell ❤️

Everyone hates doing it, but joint prep is always a must when doing customs. Do you have any tips on prepping pinless joints? What dremel bits do you use? Is there a technique?
It's the challenge. I'm obsessed with difficulty. I try to push my limits on these things as much as possible. To be fair this is a super old custom 2022 I think.
That Venom body is one of the hardest figure to paint because it barely has clearance for additional paint without sanding. As someone who is very meticulous on paint rubs, I usually sand the shit out of figures to make sure there's no paint rub 😂 Thanks for creating this video, those "customizers" really have to be called out.
Here's what the purchaser doesn't get. Ready, here it is. You mostly always ALWAYS get what you pay for. If I sold my customs I would have to charge for the sanding effort and resources. And 300 bucks or higher, people just scoff at your price.
Then you leave them be, Because selling a dodgy product for the sake of a sale to make quick money is scummy. If they aren't willing to meet your price, let them go. It's about doing the right thing. No matter what. Being a decent human being.
Another I'm going to add is some will say there's no need to joint prep because there's clearance already to articulate 😂. Awesome Phage custom dude, I remember the other Phage custom video you uploaded by Venom who laughs! also we don't talk about the Marvel legends Phage 😂😂.
Do you have a tutorial on how to do proper customs? Ive done customs for my own stuff for a while but the paint always rubs away. Itd be much appreciated, thank you.
Dude I'll spend days sanding and prepping and still get rub.... How do you do it bro? Sometimes seems like no matter how much sanding I do things still bump up against each. other. @@SymbioteSeeker 😂😂 nah I'm joking I don't even sell customs that often. And If I do I won't sell it unless its perfect as I can get it. @@SymbioteSeeker mostly it's the thigh/pelvic areas. Seems like that spots always touching when it articulates no matter how much you shave off there's always contact eventually. Maybe it's paint and sealers I need to try switching up
After following actual legitimate customizers like yourself, I have moved away from painting jobs, I just know the amount of work, prep and time it truly needs in order for it to be legit and I just don't have that much free time and that's completely okay because I'd rather focus on what I'm good when it comes to customs rather then deliver half ass, non prepped "Customs" and charge absurd prices. Keep doing you!
There is a great deal of time to invested into getting something rub free. I do understand most if not 99% of customizers just give up and don't bother doing it.

@@SymbioteSeeker i struggle with sculpting sharp edges on logos (like ps5 spidey) while using green sculpt. im trying to get better and youre my fave customizer id love to see how you sculpt any logos. symbiotes would be amazing tho
I've been doing gunpla/gundam before and even that needs joint prep or else paint rub if you gonna articulate it or worse plastic breakage since gunpla plastics kinda weak not really meant for playing. Now I'm on action figure and disassembly kinda scary thing especially for hard plastic but for Marvel Legends kinda decent, much easier to disassemble. Also please don't buy or encourage those customizers that using a cheap base for a figure or even a KO as a base figure then selling it 10times or even 20times the price and those who don't prep the figure properly. Just don't because you just gonna encourage them to scam more. I know someone in my country who does that and people amaze with his paint skills but without prep it will just scratch the paint and wasted money for a custom, worst the figure is priced like 300usd and up even the base is trash and no prep at all lol. Do yourself a favor. If it's priced like 300usd or higher for an action figure with a cheap figure/KO based. Just buy Authentic Revoltech, Mafex, SHFiguarts or even a HOT TOYS etc and you will get your money worth and much cheaper. Find a real customizer with a reasonable price or practice on cheap or KO figs much better and you will learn.
