Their relationship had so much more depth to it. I love them together. It's not that I didn't like Si. I did, but his relationship with Shancai was always so explosive. There's usually a lot of passion in relationships like that, but there's also usually a boatload of pain. To me, Shancai and Lei worked better because they could actually communicate, and I just feel that he would be a better compliment to her spunky personality. They would balance each other. I guess I look at it like a fire. Shancai is fire cause she's fiery (duh). She already burns hot on her own. Added an accelerant like gasoline (Si) to that fire can make it go out of control. However, adding another medium, something calmer like wood (Lei), and you get warmth like a cozy blanket. I think also that I appreciate a love that feels safe and warm and comfortable. I can't envision Shancai's relationship with Si like that, even in the future. But Lei...I can see it. So, in my imagination, I ignore the ending of this drama and paint my own ending with Lei at Shancai's side forever. And I"m happy.
Finished the whole series in two days and through sleepless nights and incessant tears my love for Huaze Lei bloomed at every step...I do ship Si and Shancai but Lei will be in my heart forevermore
i was always more of a Lei and Shancai shipper, there relationship in my opinion had more depth and backlash and heartbreak more REALITY and cruel. but not always like that. they always cared for each other. Being each other’s shoulder to cry on friend. And it’s such good friend goals!! I do think Si and Shancai are cute together and they are soulmates💖 but a lot of times, I thought Si didn’t deserve Shancai. Or Shancai didn’t deserve Si. But that’s all the reality of having crushes and being in a difficult love triangle (thing?) - Although Si and Shancai are soulmates and I’m not upset they’re together.... I will always have a heart for Lei x Shancai 💕 I do believe that they are soulmates, and do belong together in another lifetime!!🥺 but unfortunately, not this one.
