I have this lens and I love it. It's a beautiful lens, looks fantastic, is very well made, performs brilliantly and is one of the best, possibly the best mft lens you can buy. It's not my most used lens, I actually use my Panasonic 14-140mm much more (a fantastic travel and general purpose lens), but when I do use the 42.5mm Nocticron it's a real pleasure to use. Great for portraits as you said, and I use it a lot at small venue indoor gigs/concerts where the large aperture combined with the superb quality of the lens really shines.

Absolutely. I want to make a video about the 14-140, once we can move about a bit more :)

The proof is in the pudding. Im always amazed at the images from the 42.5 nocticron. It does lack weathersealing, but I've used it many times in conditions that I shouldnt have and havent had an issue.

Loving your videos. Fairly new to photography so constantly learning. I am interested in the leica 42.5mm nocticron and this video has benefited me immensely.

Damian, personally which has the better output, Fuji 56mm f1.2 or this one (Panasonic 42.5mm f1.2)?

Tested this lens and agree it was excellent. However for my needs I went for the 1.7 LUMIX 42.5 which is a very good lens for the money, had stabilisation and is tiny.

      I can't argue with that!

The Field of view is slightly larger on the Noctricron and if your shooting video at 4k on the G85 which is already cropped slightly the extra glass and FOV is worth it

That lens is why I moved to MFT

hi Damian, is it good for black and white photography? And which Panasonic lens you recommend for landscape photography? This lens does not seem so big I think. definitely much smaller than canon lenses. I am for small size high-quality lenses. how about the camera? which Panasonic Lumix camera is good for photography? I am not interested in video. thank you.

    Do a comparison between 42.5mm 1.2 vs 90mm fuji

    I prefer my Fuji XF56 1.2, cheaper on a X-H1

Nice combo!!! But most m4/3 shooters don't also shoot Fuji I imagine.

Damian Brown I shoot Nikon, Fuji, and Panasonic . But I will say the 42 is a nice lens

F Stop light gathering measure doesn't change with sensor size.
