Just last night I saw a UK tribute band called Stanley Dee and they were superb! This gentleman's playing has left me breathless! Wonderful! Can someone tell me, is the last sequence of notes that closes the solo in Black Friday a nod to another jazz/swing classic that contains the lyric or may even be called Mister Saturday Night? It has all the makings of a dan joke! Thank you for the entertainment sir! A wonderful, albeit at my age, demoralising demonstration at how beautifully structured their music is! Fantastic end to a weekend that has rekindled my love of this greatest of all bands.
That was very inspiring! I'm going to watch this again and again to learn what you're playing. I can see all the changes very clearly. Good video for sure!
Cute comment. Don't forget Elliot Randall, Jay Graydon, Skunk Baxter, Denny Dias, or Walter Becker. They all take their turns. Plus more. It's not all Carlton. Pretty sure Black Friday is Becker. He also takes one of the most tasteful solos ever in Bad Sneakers (also on Katy Lied).
@@cramerlewis8132 I don't know what his problem is, carlton wasn't even an original member like diaz, becker or the skunk... Not to undermine Carlton's work, but this dude shouldn't undermine the other greats lol, without the skunk and diaz we wouldn't have the solos on reelin in the years, my old school bodhisattva and Your gold teeth with many more!
This guy does a great job but why on earth anyone that's recording an instructional video would choose a guitar with no dot inlays or fret markers on it is beyond me :-)
Very impressive, excellent job!!! Thank you for the lesson.

Came for Megadeth... it was good anyways :D
Where are the chorus chords?
Also what I was looking for. Steely Dan chords are elusive.
A G F# G D#m7 A/D A/B (Also the G could be a G6, it fits well)
A Em/G F#7 Em/G D#m7 Dmaj7 B
no i look for the megadeth song
