Also how did you have the motivation or confidence to learn all the algorithms for 3x3 (like OLL, PLL, and F2L which I have a feeling you probably did), because I have had a hard time getting enough confidence to learn more algorithms

This was certainly a video that you were supposed to make. Watching it makes me want to order the Diansheng FTO asap and learn how to solve it.

Wow, such a quick release! I cant believe how well this video turned out! Honored to have helped you learn more about the puzzle, and very happy indeed more people will be exposed to this puzzle. With the release of the diansheng and an explosion of new interest, really crossing my fingers it gets made official within a couple years!
I had a very similar experience the first time i learned from his tutorial as well lol 😅. Took me over an hour and a half to solve the it the first time. Its a great tutorial, but it leaves a lot up to the person to figure out and not all the cases are covered in the video, so it can be a bit tricky for a few of the steps. But i also remember getting 5 min and 7 min solves for a while before it seemed to "click" one day. And now here i am, 2 years later, 23.91 ao100 and top 12 in the world. Crazy how hard i fell for this puzzle, it just naturally has that effect on people

Wow, what timing! I just preordered the Diansheng FTO yesterday. I'm a very beginner cuber but the passion I've seen for this puzzle is contagious, so I knew I had to try it out.
My favourite puzzle, I did a short on this on my other channel Downunder Cuber making fun of the puzzle, basically a joke tutorial video where I hit it with a hammer, put it in the microwave and threw it in the bin, but afywe learning how to solve it it's become my favourite puzzle and I'm really looking forward to the new DianSheng Speed FTO and really hope it gets included as a WCA official event.
Dayan is also apparently working on an FTO too! Can't wait to see what happens!

Good news, danshang is releasing a magnetic FTO (and of course, you mentioned this in the middle of the video).
I love the FTO, I have a RexTO which is a 3D printed modification and it's decent but we finally are getting good hardware. I'm sub 50 on the fto; and it's just such a fun puzzle because it's so unique. I really do hope the WCA does add it. Even when the lanlan FTO was the only choice, the community was very active, I did all the modifications and even have a magnetized lanlan.
Does that mean you're bronze yet? I believe sub 50 global should generally lead to bronze tier
@@ChrisChoi123 I don't know what that means, I'm a part of the community but I've never submitted my times nor have I competed in competitions on the discord server. Frankly, I've never been to a single Cubing competition ever despite being sub 10 on 3x3 (I can get sub 7-8 on good days) etc.

I've been getting right into FTO recently too. Very excited for the DianSheng one. I've got it preordered from The Cubicle too. I don't have a Lan Lan or a RexTO, but I've done a DIY stickermod on my QiYi Super Ivy Cube to make it equivalent to an FTO and I've been using that to develop my own method of solving it.
At first it was taking me over an hour to solve, but now that I'm getting the hang of it I'm getting quicker. Got a 12 minute solve tonight. I'm not a hardcore speed solver, my 3x3 average is something like a minute and a half, so I'll probably be happy if I can get FTO down to sub 5 minutes using this method I devised for myself.

i think what makes fto so fun is that because the main method is intuitive, it makes it way more dynamic, in the sense that every solve theres something different that happens

I was planning to learn an FTO, but Lanlan's hardware wasn't good enough for me.
So I gave up.
But now there is a diansheng, I am gonna buy it and practice it after the korean championship in this august.
I'm on day 2 of my FTO, and I just can not put it down. It's such a fun puzzle. I'm already hunting for last layer algs. This would be an amazing WCA event, it's very accessible.
My wife bought me the Diansheng for my birthday. I love it, and have fallen down that same rabbit hole!

I’ve had a FTO for many years - always solved using a corners->centres->edges method, but yes it means a lot of spamming the same move over and over. Faster to get to grips with initially tho

Would you consider making a tutorial with the new magnetic FTO? The Bencisco videos are good, but a bit dense, have a different color scheme, and are not new puzzle solver friendly

Isn't the FTO a shape mod of the Rex Cube? There are more tutorials out there for that. The Super Ivy cube is also a Rex Cube mod and it turns way better.
No, actually the rex cube is the shape mode of the fto. It doesn't go the other way around because of our puzzle makers define shape mods, ie the base cube is usually the face turning one
