    Mexico is a very rich country, too bad the corruption does not let the country shine as it should. . Mexico has been robbed since Spaniards came for first time and now by all the people in power. If Mexico's wealth were distributed in a better way among the population, nobody would had the need to emigrate to other countries. The Partenon is a very small sample or how big the corruption was and still is. Sad, but true. Thank you very much for the video. Really love all your informative videos. Take care for yourself. God bless you.

      I truly believe that Mexico is one of the most misunderstood, and most encompassingly awesome country in the world. I agree it has it's problems that are holding it back. It's something I am learning more about as I spent time there.

    So cool you guys had the chance to went it and show it in nice quality, I’m raised and born in Zihuatanejo and although I’m not proud of the history of this building I think our county should use it.
    The huge gate at the entrance is the original gate from the Chapultepec castle, people said he loved to brag about it. The beds used to hang from the ceiling. There is a “secret” tunel that connects the house to the beach.
    There are some cages near the entrance where El Negro had some lions, rumor says the animals were there for two reasons , as a demonstration of his power and for getting rid of undesirable people.

    That house doesn´t even describe the opulence of his many houses. There was a house in Ajusco that had a replica of the famous discotheque of New York "Studio 54", that same house had artificial lakes, a digital shooting range, horse stables, a small bullring and many more features. Anyways, awesome video!

    When I saw the partenon by first time I was shocked because this is located in a very poor state in Mexico where there´s a lot of people starving to death, El negro Durazo murdered and he desappeared thousands, and helped the president Echeverría in the Tlatelolco massacre (1968) in Mexico city, when the mexican army killed students from UNAM, IPN, Colegio de Mexico, De la Salle, Chapingo, and lots of autonomous colleges around the country while they were in a pacific protest against the privatization of public education. That house was built with the blood of all those people.

    It's insane how well preserved El Partenon del Negro Durazo is, after being abandoned for well over 30 years! I can only imagine how opulent it must have looked in its heyday. I'm amazed that the statues are still there, and that there are actually fish living in the dirty pool water! Between the mirrors on the ceiling and the possible depiction of him as a centaur, I think it's fairly safe to say Arturo was a fan of himself 😜. Haha, and seriously, his mansion would be the coolest place ever for a Kick The Grind meet-up!

    • @fearlessandfar
      @fearlessandfar  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The fish must have been put there. They looked like guppies or mollies, two very common aquarium fish. Hahaha in reality it would be SO much red tape to have a meet-up there. We had to go through some just to get in!

    One word~~ STUNNING both masterpieces. The building and grounds and of course Mariannela. From 1 to 10 that's a 10. The pool shimmering blue and clean. Lights placed strategically around the whole property. Bands playing beautiful music for dinner than Hamm it way up til the sun comes up to dance and laugh and create beautiful music with one another. To explore the grounds as music blasts out towards the sea. At sundown. Peace settles on the place of paradise. Lovers hold each other watching the sun sneaking behind the far away mountains. Then up goes the music and all bets are off. Wow, what a party.

      Mariannela Cataño , they said that when the Parthenon was build, the only way to get there was in helicopters, and the people he used to build it was the police officers, every body from that time knows that in the city was no police, because they were working as a construction guys in the Parthenon, and it was no choice. they were transported on the police helicopters. I think the baseman was used to torture o kill people.

    • @SweetJeopardy
      @SweetJeopardy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There's an urban legend regarding those gates: it was rumored that in the middle of the night he had the actual gates lifted from the historic Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City (and replaced with fakes) and then installed at the entrance of this compound to give it a more "regal" appearance. This is just a myth that's been disproved many times, but it speaks of the power this guy had as well as the high favor bestowed upon him by the president in office at the time (they were buddies since childhood) that it could've been possible.

    The hole below your feet on 14:00
    My uncles in Zihuatanejo told us a long time ago, that some years after "negro" Durazo was arrested and the mansion was seized by the government, some strange people (maybe his allies or someone with the information) carved a hole to remove a secret vault with documents, guns, money, jewels and stuff.
    Those guys were never seen again in town and the police never found them.
    I wonder, what was in that safe?

    Yessir, the place is amazing. Do ya suppose there would be any objections if I just moved in and started living there? Heh, heh. I agree that those gates are to make a statement but also to intimidate I believe. Heeeey..."Mirrors on the ceiling, the pink champagne on ice..." you know how it goes. Durazo must have really dug the ancient Greek style 'cause he sure used it and I somehow doubt that they had that same contractor. Hah! Good catch, Jordan, on the shade rollers. The view is frickin phenomenal man! It kinda blows me away that the place has remained vacant. It must belong to the government and it just doesn't make sense that they wouldn't exploit it in some fashion. Whether they sold it or rented it or used it would just seem better than wasting it. I know that superstition plays a bigger role there than here so is that a factor? Does the property have some sorta stain on it? I think the digging was either done by officials lookin' for bodies or riches or "treasure hunters" came along to do the same. Would I party there? Dude...I wanna be a squatter there! I don't know, and it doesn't matter, if Mariannela's dress was planned wardrobe or if it was serendipitous happenstance but it so suited the location. Those shots of her toward the end were just outstanding. I applaud your film making Mike and her modelling as well...great stuff! Also, I've gotta mention just how incredible it is that the vandalism is at a minimum. On the 1 to 10 I'd give it a high 7 or even an 8 and since I don't believe in perfection, a 10, that's a pretty good rating. Thanks Mike! ..........................PEACE!!

    • @SweetJeopardy

      keko Mtz. "Colina del Perro" was the mansion that belonged to Lopez Portillo (the actual President in office when Durazo was active, as well as his buddy) and it's since been mostly torn down to make way to at least one exclusive housing development with around 70 homes in it, though some elements of the original estate were still kept. Now keep in mind that these are uber-posh gated communities with parks, foubtains, club houses, etc and of course luxury residences...so imagine the size that the original "Colina del Perro" estate must have had 😲

    Correction: He was known as "el negro" because he was dark skinned, his highschool nickname predates his rise to power. In time, one of his former bodyguards wrote a book called "lo negro del negro Durazo" (what was black about black durazo) wich sold a lot of copies.
