- we're back with the japan vlogs! this time, we're going to day 1 of the sonno matsuri (takayama spring festival), which celebrates the arrival of spring! john and i actually did laundry early that morning and met a Canadian man who used to live in the area. if it weren't for him, we would have totally messed up our itinerary because he guided us to flip our schedule and see the yatai (floats) on this day instead of the next day. thank goodness we did because the evening parade only happens once, and it was definitely worth it to see them decorated with lanterns at night! in this vlog, you'll also see me try the rare and famous Y1000 Yakult drink, which i've seen on tiktok - apparently, it's supposed to help with gut issues, but i wasn't impressed and felt no difference... maybe i should have drank it every day to feel a change lol. we also did a lot of shopping and eating (unfortunately, way too much to document on camera - but i did what i could)! however, i made sure to go into the miffy bakeshop! even though i didn't buy anything, it was cute to see and got to take home a little free brochure with me (it can honestly double as a print)!
i know each video has such a different vibe, but thank you for watching and subscribing. i'm constantly trying different methods to see what works for me. today, i wanted to let you in on some of my thoughts and also give you a slice of life feel. hope you enjoy it :)
