This album made me laugh, made me think & made me cry... I wrestled with conflicting nuisances, bled into fear & tortured myself. I understand why he put out this record.. for love, for anger, for him & us. If I ever meet him, I’ll tell him that he saved my life... countless times. I’m just some kid from Canada but the injustices I faced with racism & the hate I waged on myself were soothed by his art. Thank you Mr. Duckworth..
This is one of the most incredible piece of music I've ever heard. The atmosphere is so vaporous and groovy.. It's a shame that it didn't get digged deeper into in the album.
This piece is actually really interesting and satisfying to listen to from a musician's pov. So the subdivision (the rhythm within each measure) is divided into the triplets, so the guitar and keyboard licks as well as part of the drum rhythm all count in 3s. The track itself is in 4/4 time, so, in its entirety, it counts in 4s. So you could listen and tap your foot to count either [1 2 3 - 1 2 3] or [1 2 3 4] always love seeing what people can do with time signature and rhythms. The production is amazing on this album!
“So why did I weep when Treyvon Martin was in the street? When gang banging made me kill a nigga Blacker than me. Hypocrite!” - My 2nd most favored line in hip hop

it took 3 of the best neo-soul and hip-hop producers as well as more than a few talented live musicians and background vocalists to make To Pimp A Butterfly what it was. It's truly the greatest album of the 2010s... so not even Kendrick knows how to make "sumthin like this" again 😂

I think i found the answer. The traditional answer is curly martin - terrace martin. However, i found lights up - harry styles sounding quite similar to this at 1:06. I think that is the one
I knew I wasn’t the only person that enjoyed this part.

I liked the outro before i liked the whole song
I wasn’t expecting anyone to make just this instrumental

Props to you man !
I'm glad you managed to get through that. Kendrick might be the best in our generation because how he transcends art.
Congrats on that man!
So uhh... I guess you could say he was, conflicted.
@@ClassicImperialSympathizermisusing influence,perhaps?
this is like the sonic representation of the entire album and the album cover
A white flower? Ironic xD
@@johndoe-sx5pv i said “sonic” representation
I think Kendrick said that this is the part he would of loved to have had 2Pac rap over.
No fucking way ,r u serious?
Simply beautiful and genius
Personally im glad no one is rapping over it. This instrumental is one of the greatest ive heard and a rapping voice would ruin its beauty imo
Where he say thay

Goosebumps, this part always gets me a little emotional. Has such a beautiful, nostalgic sound. Btw Kendrick is whooping Drake’s ass in the beef.

in 6/8 time, never realized that, unusual and amazing
Sounds like something you'd hear on a Knuckles or Rouge stage on a Sonic Game
