@@JamiesBrickJams you could also attempt at making a brace that grips your arm, though I think making a basic stock, even one made out purely Technic beams and connectors as a sort of wire stock, would be easier.
I've actually tried 4 tanks on a single barrel! It's a little stronger, but a bit underwhelming as each tank is bottlenecked by their small outlets. But perhaps some modifications to the tanks would be worth messing with!
@@JamiesBrickJams yeeah the key is to maximize peak pressure and its duration on the chamber. We (or just you, for that matter lol) could do some calculations to make a super-strong sniper rifle haha!

Hey, I really like your videos. Also, do you know shrapnel? He made a really powerful lego gun with elastic bands. Could you try to make it even more powerful? I will appreciate a lot if you'll do it!
I just recently saw some of his videos - absolutely love them! He's got some truly ridiculous power out of a few of them. I may experiment with powerful rubber in the future, but for now I'll leave those in his capable hands 😜
Small tip for the hose connection to the bottle, you can connect the hose to the t-junction then thread the hose through the hole instead of the juntcion first, thus getting a tighter seal. You'll need a slightly larger hole but it'll work better since you can use higher pressure
@@JamiesBrickJams No problem, another advantage is the higher pressure will give a tighter seal thus enabling even higher pressures. The highest I've dared is 9 bar so it should be plenty. Wouldn't recommend it for pneumatic engines though since it's a bit much for the pistons😅
Really nice! What if you took some concepts from other lego guns on yt such as magazines? Maybe you could even divert some air to create artificial recoil. Would be even cooler!
I would like to see if you could actually make something to automatically close the tubes or to just block airflow from going through the metal tubes instead of over and over, pulling that lever forward.
How many PSI are you charging those air tanks to? I would assume that the system is bottlenecked by small diameter tubing having low airflow, so a higher pressure would help without having to modify any parts. Though you could try drilling out the outlets of the tanks to a slightly larger diameter.
You're totally right, that bottleneck is quite frustrating. I was only pumping this up to about 50 psi at most, but I like your idea of just pushing through the bottleneck with higher pressures. I think cola bottles can take quite a bit more pressure, so it might be worth creating better seals and pushing the pressure even higher!
@@JamiesBrickJams My understanding is that Cola bottles can take 60 psi safely and potentially up to 90 at the risk of them exploding. Or you can just look it up, I'm pretty sure other people have tested it.
Yeah I think it's around that neighbourhood. I remember being surprised when I looked it up - was much higher than I expected. Will see what I can do 😉
btw, sometimes air or gasses can mess up the calculation of the cronograph (i heard) and also, what if you make it so its a break action? that you break it (fold it open) and put the bullets in that way (and maybe put a ring on the axles for schell ejection! and also that the bullets stay put while shooting )
A thought on accuracy: one of the main two ways, historically, that have been used to produce more accurate projectiles, has either been thru endusing a spin in the projectile, usually through rifling. Or, by using fins. Rifling takes Very precise machining, or 3d printing, and might not work well with LEGO products. So, I think your best best might be to use a Discarding Sabot type of projectile. By encasing the projectile in a casing that keeps it flush against the walls of the barrel, and putting fins on the projectile, you should be able to produce a far more accurate hit, without sacrificing power. I'd suggest giving it a look for V4!
I reckon it should be pretty straightforward for anyone to replicate from my video here! Though I know there's still loads of room for improvements to it
I've actually made a few in the past. A powerful whipper trebuchet is on the bucket list! Great suggestion though, there's a lot of potential in siege engines 😁
you could try to add automatic reload, except the bullets, either battery powered, or doing it the fancy way with the air storage as a multi-purpose part 😁

Nah, this thing is way too overkill, it could kill a person with the right pressure. Also, can you give schematics for your builds?

Next step is to figure out a way to make/use rifled barrels. That would help ameliorate the projectiles rotating sideways once they leave the barrel.
why not try to use a system similar to mike shake's supersonic nerf gun?
