Yulo's coach deserves a huge chunk of the great honor for winning the Gold Medal in the World Gymnastics 2019. You can see how passionate, patient and dedicated this coach was in helping and training Carlos Yulo to be the best in the world. Almost all Japanese people are so humble, no matter how good they are in their field, a trait the whole world should emulate and admire. Hat's off and congrats to Carlos and his coach.

Like any well-built katana by a sword master, it must still be sharpened by a master sword polisher. I liken his present coach to a master sword polisher, & his former coaches here in the Philippines to sword masters. And Caloy is the katana now being sharpened!

And the moment he... no.. they won, he dropped and sat on the floor really really happy. Every protagonist needs a great supporter and a believer, that’s his coach.

PAUL He was a scholar in Teikyo University because Coach Mune helped him since he is a professor there. Also Coach Mune in the past, trained the Philippine Team because of Sporting Goodwill not for money and thru the virtue of JOC. It is automatic that the PH organization will help him but the goodwill of our Japanese brothers gave him a peat to accomplish world championship! I am just calling the PH media to honor these great guys because it is beyond their responsibility to take on Caloy under their wings. Also Caloy already declined a lot of scholarship/training offers especially from the US because he does not want to part with Coach Mune.

I dont think na just the training... i believe that highly developed countries creates high quality athletes due to the peoples behaviour, understanding and assistance. People in highly developed countries learns how to obey rules in their everyday lives, they understand that everyone should contribute for everyones betterment, then when assistance from a good government comes it will be much easier for the athletes to develop, and i believe that we could produce a lot of very good athletes as well, because understanding and behaviour creates discipline, And discipline that is the main factor for a good athlete.
Hoping our Philippines Government should give honor also to his coach. For bringing pride to our country. Thank you for training and trusting Carlos with all your knowledge.

I love how the coach switches from Japanese to English to Tagalog. He understands Carlos so well that he makes an effort to make the message of his instructions clearer for him. Carlos Yulo the "Gold Medalist" Watching this video breaks my heart. I didn't know that he has to live and study in Japan while training since his trainer-coach is a Japanese. Studying plus Training is already hard.. But Studying in Japan with all of your books written in Japanese (Note: He has to write in Japanese as well) and still Training is on a another level. He is not just a Gold Medalist. He is a winner. He is a survivor. He is a person who withstand the hardships of training and sacrificed alot to achieve his dream and his country's dream. I see nothing wrong with his 'forever be indebted' remark. The honor that Carlos brought will be ours forever too, hence the debt of gratitude goes with it. The coach could have chosen a fellow Japanese, but instead, chose a Filipino (we are not known for our gymnastic skills) It's really a gamble. Plus, taking someone in, being a mentor, a coach, a parent-that's a rarity nowadays. No one's saying we aren't thankful to Roach but theirs (Manny and Freddie's) relationship is far different. Plus Roach earned from Manny; he was well paid. That's why we are celebrating more the effort of this Japanese coach. You can always count yourself out from being forever grateful, no need for spite.
nah. they should follow the leading countries when it comes to developing youths sa sports - kahit anong sports! there are what? millions & millions of young athletes sa pinas all waiting to be trained properly at maintroduce sa kahit anong sports, may it be basketball, track & field, swimming, soccer, handball, u name it!!! again it’s about introducing kids sa buong pinas ang mga iba’t ibang sports! mga letseng goberment opisyals puro kurakot at sarili lng nila iniisip nila. tas pag nanalo ng gold, yaaaan sila na nauuna!
Hindi lang dapat gymnastics ang dami sport sa pilipinas na nanalo sa ibang bansa di lang lang ganon kasikat kasi na overshadow ng volleyball at basketball.
@@yuliymacro8542 Tama Sa totoo lang, pwede kang mag basketball at volleyball kahit saan, sa local court, school, gym, you name it. Pero pano na yung mga sports na kailangan ng maayos na facilities katulad nga nung Gymnastics at Figure Skating. Kulang training areas at facilities para sa mga athletes natin sa iba pang mga sport kaya hindi mahone nang mabuti.

You know what I love about this kid, even though he's training in other country he is still uses Tagalog and knows how to use po and opo. I also commend his dedication I can see that he is really training hard. it is not easy training away from your family in a totally different country with different culture and at such young age. Bronze medal in his first worlds & Gold in his second....he is being trained by his coach simply because he truly see his potential...and those results in such a short time is a result of trusting each other. It is nothing short of impressive to achieve a podium finish at his first & second appearance in the worlds...usually one aims to end up on a good placing, when they start competing internationally like somewhere in the middle of the pack, but a podium..a GOLD on his second try...no wonder his coach got emotional. Good job to both of them.

Arigato, Coach Kugimiya!His dedication and patience in mentoring Carlos is astounding! He even learned some Tagalog words for him to open up more, since Carlos is very quiet and shy. He seemed a very nice person, always smiling and trying to be more than a coach to him, but a parent as well.Carlos is doing an amazing job, too! We know how difficult it is to adjust and adapt in a new place, but he's slowly fitting in. Good luck in the Olympics!

Being away from your parents at a very young age and live in a different country, train hard by a foreign couch while studying and have to learn their language and different writing is very very impressive. There will always be that special bond between a coach and an athlete that no one can understand. There's a certain degree of trust and respect for one another. I feel the dedication of the coach to fully guide him through all the training. It takes years and years of training to get that coveted Olympic Gold. Respect to them.

PAUL He was a scholar in Teikyo University because Coach Mune helped him since he is a professor there. Also Coach Mune in the past, trained the Philippine Team because of Sporting Goodwill not for money and thru the virtue of JOC. It is automatic that the PH organization will help him but the goodwill of our Japanese brothers gave him a peat to accomplish world championship! I am just calling the PH media to honor these great guys because it is beyond their responsibility to take on Caloy under their wings. Also Caloy already declined a lot of scholarship/training offers especially from the US because he does not want to part with Coach Mune.

I dont think na just the training... i believe that highly developed countries creates high quality athletes due to the peoples behaviour, understanding and assistance. People in highly developed countries learns how to obey rules in their everyday lives, they understand that everyone should contribute for everyones betterment, then when assistance from a good government comes it will be much easier for the athletes to develop, and i believe that we could produce a lot of very good athletes as well, because understanding and behaviour creates discipline, And discipline that is the main factor for a good athlete.
Hoping our Philippines Government should give honor also to his coach. For bringing pride to our country. Thank you for training and trusting Carlos with all your knowledge.

Watching this video breaks my heart. I didn't know that he has to live and study in Japan while training since his trainer-coach is a Japanese. Studying plus Training is already hard.. But Studying in Japan with all of your books written in Japanese (Note: He has to write in Japanese as well) and still Training is on a another level.
He is not just a Gold Medalist. He is a winner. He is a survivor. He is a person who withstand the hardships of training and sacrificed alot to achieve his dream and his country's dream.

I see nothing wrong with his 'forever be indebted' remark. The honor that Carlos brought will be ours forever too, hence the debt of gratitude goes with it. The coach could have chosen a fellow Japanese, but instead, chose a Filipino (we are not known for our gymnastic skills) It's really a gamble. Plus, taking someone in, being a mentor, a coach, a parent-that's a rarity nowadays. No one's saying we aren't thankful to Roach but theirs (Manny and Freddie's) relationship is far different. Plus Roach earned from Manny; he was well paid. That's why we are celebrating more the effort of this Japanese coach. You can always count yourself out from being forever grateful, no need for spite.

Pero pano na yung mga sports na kailangan ng maayos na facilities katulad nga nung Gymnastics at Figure Skating. Kulang training areas at facilities para sa mga athletes natin sa iba pang mga sport kaya hindi mahone nang mabuti.

Bronze medal in his first worlds & Gold in his second....he is being trained by his coach simply because he truly see his potential...and those results in such a short time is a result of trusting each other. It is nothing short of impressive to achieve a podium finish at his first & second appearance in the worlds...usually one aims to end up on a good placing, when they start competing internationally like somewhere in the middle of the pack, but a podium..a GOLD on his second try...no wonder his coach got emotional. Good job to both of them.
