U THE REAL MVP
Sandblastr why don't you listen to his story, and then you might have an idea of what he raps about
andrew_512 A lot of people knew his story before this interview.
I'm getting addicted to this kid.
Me too lol
Imagine how chilled an interview w/ Logic & Gambino would be
+llVll4J0RK1LL3R I could listen to that shit for hours
word
+llVll4J0RK1LL3R you need to be in charge of their interviews lol
damn
Danm i wanna see that
His album is a FREAKING MASTERPIECE, without a doubt the ALBUM OF THE YEAR and for many years to come!!!
#UnderPressure
Until his next album drop
Word
6 out of 10..
ArmyVtrN
more like 8.5 out of 10
Go listen to his album again and try focusing on his LYRICS, FLOW, DELIVERY, STORY TELLING SKILLS, MUSIC PRODUCTION, MEANING OF EACH SONG and you'll find out why his album is THE BEST OF THE YEAR and why your comment is basically invalid.
nah...his story telling is forced...he lacks subtlety; his flow is still a mesh of his rivals....heavy j.cole, kendrick and drake influences....what seperates a technically skilled rapper from a virtuoso is a distinct sound...logic has bars and is technically skilled but he lacks originality....the production on each individual track is pretty dope but the final product is, dare i say, corny - with all the unnecessary interludes...he still incredibly charismatic and obviously has heart but this aint no gahdamn classic
What I like about Logic, is the fact that he's getting better with time. I've been listening to the guy for about 3 years now... Its amazes me how much better his sound has improved since then. Great album debut, much better than most debuts if you ask me.... Although its not perfect, I do think he's on his way to the top for sure...
I see it happening
I feel the exact same way about Childish Gambino. I have been listening to both of these guys and plenty of others and it is amazing to see the growth in young to mature music.
Love Trumps Hates what do you think about him now that everybody bobby tarantiono and the incredible true story is out
@Sandro C I don’t think so now
I like logic cause he's so nice
pussycafe69 tyler the creator is a great example.... such an asshole to other people
since we live in a sick society when you are actually a good human you are target for the shit talking....muthafuckas!!!!!
I love Logic and Gambino's friendship
I am a fan of Logic. He is just so POSITIVE because he understands being NEGATIVE doesn't get you far. Some people need to understand just because you experience something bad in your life doesn't mean it won't turn good. Big up Logic allways making good music
Album is extremely well executed. No skip tracks you can easily play it front to back and his flows are bonkers. Top contender this year.
No Rosenberg, "What's the name of the album?" a absolutely NOT a rhetorical question. A rhetorical question is one where no answer is expected, like "Who knows?". wtf.
a rhetorical question is a question the asker already knows the answer to...
Sean Cramer Not exactly. It's a question that's used for rhetorical effect (as in “Who does not love his country?”) and often in the case that no answer is expected because it's obvious ("Can pigs fly?") or because there is no answer ("why me?").
This is just an example of Rosenburg nut hugging Logic ("Of course I know the name of the album"), but not doing his job as an interviewer. I'm sure Logic would prefer it if people said the name of the record rather than incorrectly using big words.
yeah lol but in this case its obvious that the answer is logics album because the whole reason your watching this interview is to hear about logics album and a freestyle lol. "can pigs fly?" "whats your album?" same shit hahaha he is notorious for nut hugging tho i think that we can both agree on
That is rhetorical...
TexasBassFishing Google the word "rhetorical", it's not what Rosenberg did. "What's the name of the album?" is a regular question. Notice that Logic answers without hesitation.
examples.yourdictionary.com/rhetorical-question-examples.html
Logic is real. I've been reppin him since 2012 now he's blowing up
Can everyone stop comparing him to others he's not kendrick he's not drake he's logic no one else just logic
You are exactly right my friend, he bites almost everyone's flow, but you are right he's no Kendrick or Drake hahah
+oz sane bites everyone's flow ? Guess nas bit cool g raps and 50 bit krs ones ?
+Hiphop4life2011 But Nas made it his own and made a statement with his music. Logic just has a combination of all these other flows while not saying anything special lyrically.
+oz sane He might sound like Drake. He might sound like Kendrick. But, he raps the flow, which makes it Logic.
+oz sane idiot
So underrated... His album is fire and all his mixtapes were dope!
The album debuted at #12 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 59,000 copies in its first week. Illmatic...
Chill the fuck out bruh. It's not illmatic.
Dakwa Michael Watch the video.
It actually debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200, selling 72,501 copies.
fabiaguilafc Tiouba Parris (the original commentor) was talking about Illmatic, NOT Under Pressure. Illmatic sold 59,000 in its first week. In the video, Logic falsely said that it sold 59,000 in its first YEAR.
Freestyle starts at 28:31
MVP, but it's Logic talking so can't skip lol
I don't get why people hate on him. The dude is chill and can rap. Whats there to hate?
Rosenberg doesn't know what a rhetorical question is
This is what I think about Logic, he's a great guy who learned from his history and life and made the right choices. Like he said in an interview, no wants to be in the "hood". Good for Logic man, great guy from what I can see.
Yo I've been saying for the past 2 years, Logic is eventually going to be in everyone's top 5!
Bought his album and it was definitely worth it! Dope front to back.....bounce is my favorite track!
Amazing album..caught on to logic a few months before welcome to forever dropped. Soul food is probably my favorite track off under pressure
Gang related is my favorite song on the album. I'd give the album an 8/10
28:33 for freestyle
Yesssss Montgomery county 🙌🏽 love this interview!
And now The Incredible True Story is one of the best project I've ever heard.
projects*
Garbage album
+Divergent Nadir your life is garbage.
+Divergent Nadir go listen to drake
Anthony Carnegie what?
27:00 the moment all the faze virgins dreams were killed
lol
I thought he was gonna say faze
Logic is somone I'd love to chill with in the studio just kick it and vibe with instrumentals playing
Logic been ill for years now it's dope to see him getting his light.
It's so awesome to see that, along with being an INCREDIBLE musician, he's a genuinely great person. Keep
It up, bro
Is nobody totally amazed at how quiet Ebro was? Like, I aint even know he was there for a cool min.
Ebro acting humdrum as hell in this interview
" I rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not" wow, true inspirational words right there!
For the record, Illmatic has AZ featured on Life's a Bitch.... I don't know why they're comparing it.
There's so many things in these comments that need to be cleared up. 1st of all, University of Maryland is an open campus so everyone hangs out there even those who don't go there. He wasn't a student but he did have many friends that went there so that's where he would hang out and get the college students to listen to his music. He also shot his videos and held a few concerts there back in the day. Also, its safe to say that those COD videos did in fact help him get a lot of views but around that same time he was also blowing up by word of mouth throughout Maryland. I'm from Montgomery County Maryland and its kind of a big place but everyone still knows kids from basically every school in the county. Everyone hangs out at the same few rec centers, chills at the same few malls (wheaton, lakeforest, or montgomery), goes to the same 3 movie theaters (rio, rockville, or downtown silver spring), and when they leave high school, most of them go to the same college: either MC or Maryland. So, when people found out about logic word of mouth traveled pretty fast. I remember back when he was all over my facebook wall cuz friends would share his videos and be like "check out my dude from gaithersburg". Even one of my teachers at Paint Branch high school told us to watch his videos. Half the kids here called him logic, the other half called him bobby b/c either they or their older siblings knew him or went to school with him. Besides Wale, there was no rapper that this area could really claim so everyone was growing excited about logic. So he had a pretty good buzz going on without the COD community they just doubled the numbers but either way he was well on his way to recognition. We all knew this kid was gonna make it out of moco.
album is dope homie. GANG RELATED
Logic
Gambino
Kendrick
J Cole
No order.
+Jmoney 23 It's his personal list. Funny cause it's actually pretty much the same as mine.
My list but Mac is in there
I might have to add Joyner to that list
Been listening to Logic for years now and am so happy to see him doing big things and gaining so many fans. Really lucky to say I've been listening since the beginning. If any new listeners read this, go check out some of his older mixtapes to really see where he started and where he is now.
Wow a real freestyle, and it was good
Exactly, much respect for that unlike most artist who use writtens alot
Metropolis is my track, my man paid homage to my fav rapper ever Mos Def, that alone shows this kid is Hip Hop! Dope ass album no doubt!!
one of the wisest men i've ever seen
Love Rosenburg and Logic together
This is a great conversation! Can't believe I haven't seem it before, about to watch all the Rosenberg and Logic interviews
When Rosenberg asked him how he got some many views on his first few music videos, I think he should have given FaZe some credit. I found Logic out because of watching FaZe montages and I know that the other million or so subscribers FaZe had at the time were checking him out. But I know he is still good friends with FaZe Temperrr and also has him at shows and at his crib.
Those Call of Duty videos gave him a little boost.
haha me too
FaZe for sure helped him out
yea they did
Yea a boost but if you ask them little cod nerds they will say "We made him famous" cause there ignorant
Skzzi. ✌ haha yeah you're right
First real freestyle I heard from a star in a minute.
MoCo Represent! G-burg what up! Glad to see people from my town and area rising to success!
honestly I like his album man. he's one of my favorite artists right now. I've been listening to him for the last few years, and he's like old school hip hop in the modern world. His bars remind me of like talib or mobb deep. The back in the days of hip hop, but with a modern twist you know?
It took me a while to like him as well now he's my favorite
Great album solid fom start to finish can't stop playing bounce,Intro, and Soul foo D.
Wale and logic working together would be fucking legit sahn
No.
Wale and logic aren't on the same level.
What do mean by that?
Wale is obviously in a higher level!
He's more known, doesn't make him better, different flows as expected when comparing any two artists but their different doesn't mix. Logic is calm yet smooth with the rhymes, wale is too loud for logics tone. He's not on some meek mill yelling shit but to me he just doesn't make the cut for a quality song. Logic is definitely better.
Illmatic did 59,000 in its first week according to Wikipedia.
This dude is just hard to hate on like damn
Watched the whole thing. Lemme tell you guys it's worth it
Under Pressure is a certified classic for me
It's really crazy that these rappers or even musicians spend so much time and money on these songs/albums and everyone can download it for free with in 20 seconds.
His album is incredible
Oh shit, dude is actually freestyling. That is rare.
He's the realest and the cutest.
Illmatic sold 59 000 copies in the first week not year.
Yeah but that was super low for those days. Most hot artist went gold first week selling 500k
it was 15k lol first week
djwarzone1 Now we've got piracy.
The album debuted at #12 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 59,000 copies in its first week. However, its initial sales fell below expectations and its five singles failed to achieve significant chart success. Despite the album's low initial sales, Illmatic received rave reviews from most music critics, who praised its production and Nas' lyricism. On January 17, 1996, the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, and on December 11, 2001 it earned platinum certification after shipping one million copies in the United States.
+isaiah morales Stole this from Wikipedia lol
I love this guy
I'm one of those fans that got into Logic from his newest album. Not ashamed.
it makes me happy that i actually know where these places are like Montgomery county and Gaithersburg
logic and gambino and others rappers alike are going to be the ones who usher in the new "style" of rap and hip hop.
like the new music culture and stuff...like kinda how tupac and biggie and like nwa and dre and snoop and all those toher guys from there generation who brought the new style of music and stuff in and its built what we listen to today ...so yeah i feel like these guys are bringing in the new style.
Kid is talented. Everybody needs to stop hating. Sounds like jealousy. Wish gimme the best
29:54 "checkitowtneeeeeoooowwww"
He's so smart.
Shoutsout all the MD references, makes me wanna go back
The album debuted at #12 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 59,000 copies in its first week.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not - Kurt Cobain
i just cant imagine how anybody freestyles like that...like how does your mind work that fast...
Till the End
He almost had the album of the year till J cole came through lol but great album tho
You crazy under pressure>>
Manuel L it was a good album it lacked identity tho i felt like logic was all over the place ... it wasn't as good of a project as J cole's in my opinion
The waters and run the jewels 2 are top 2 albums of the year
I like how he has to mention his childhood in every interview no matter what
- Logic, what jacket is that?
- Funny you mentioned a jacket. I was actually wearing a jacket when I cooked crack at the age of 13 and my mom was beat up and also my dad was a crackhead.
- ...
- I'm black.
- Uhhm. K.
- Crack. I cooked crack.
You know him to well man, cause not everyone knows his story apparently you do for you to think he says the same stuff. He's not super known he's getting there and I think people should know his story (the people that haven't/are barley hearing him)
Yeah.. i like Logic, but his ultimate weakness is changing his topics :/
Hahahah this is the funniest shit I've seem all week
I love logic but your comment was hilarious
No matter what he says there's gonna be people like you. lol
Under pressure... That album is 10 or even higher.
y'all must check it out!!!
I know if your a Logic fan youve heard under pressure album but if you want something else check out Young Sinatra
Logic for president! 2020
his album is amazing. Logic is going to be the best artist out in a few years now that hes defjam
Logic too nice with the bars! Under Pressure 9/10 album js.
Hot 97 is always coming up clutch
This is the first I hear of him and I'm copping this album
Logic is literally the fucking man!
Anyone else feel like these guys grillin him the whoooooooole time...? like this kids fuckin awesome show sum luv..
Ebro lookin like he's been having a good night before he got there haha. Looks high AF! Props to Logic though, love his music, his message and respect his journey.
best new artist!!
I like that logic loves gambino because they are both alike in a way
Call of Duty videos really did help him boost up at first as weird as it sounds lol
without illcams 38 I would have never known him lol
Look, we all admit that we knew him cuz of Illcams or FaZe. But cmon man, a stupid gaming clan did not make him get signed to Def Jam, or have his album #1 on Itunes.
Titan AE™ Agreed
Titan AE™ I don't think you realize how many people seriously know of him due to FaZe. Obviously that's not the only reason, but that's a huge reason that he's known. For example, I hadn't heard of him until my friends told me about him. How'd they find out about him? Through Illcams. TH-camrs and their watchers really spread the word about him.
***** I completely agree with you, but I'm talking about how he got popular in the first place. Spotlight threw him into "fame" but he got a lot of his beginning from TH-camrs in general using his songs. A long time before he ever dreamed of putting out an album.
Logic is my man I live bout 10min from Montgomery county
Under pressure a dope as album... when I get that extra cash ima go support and buy it...
I get a strong Kevin Gates vibe from him. Too real.
that freestyle shows a little of why hes #1, V's UP!
Logic is an awesome dude, and Under Pressure is the shiiiit :D
actually,
iLLmatic sold 59.000 first week, not first year and made platinum in 2001.
Nas wasn't the only rapper one Illmatic why does he keep saying that
smart guy
The album is amazing... 7.8 out of 10 !!
How is amazing 7.8? -_-
7.8 you tripping its 9/10
You dumb as fuck..
I think its great, better than most. However, I found myself skipping over a few records. In my opinion... I would give GKMC and Kanye's "MBTDF" and "Graduation" 9 out of 10... Illmatic 10 !!!
With that in mind, I cant give "Underpressure" a 9 or above. Without a doubt, Logic is my favorite rapper right now and has the best hip-hop album of the year !! However I love 78% of the album...
JusticeJDC
You don't have to disrespect sir...
Good interview RosenBORG!
11:29 actually he did because "White Boy" trended after his cypher...so people didn't really listen that well.
half white half black
prejudice fuck
Auto Juvi Lead-Sniper what??? are you calling me a prejudice fuck? cause I know he's biracial I'm saying that after his BET cypher, White Boy trended on twitter cause everyone was saying that white boy went off..you obviously just missed my point.
sorry just saw white boy on there thought you were calling him a white boy just so annoyed if new listeners who don't know and just criticize
Auto Juvi Lead-Sniper dude same, but when my friend showed me him in 2012 I thought he was white too so you just gotta give them time to figure it out xD
Who cares what color you are black white green orange as long as you have bars.
29:59 Second part of Soul food:)
It seems like he is technical. I like his freestyle.
