Reculver will forever conjure up memories of family holidays. We used to stay on a caravan site on Bishopstone Lane in the 1970s, theres wasn't much in the way of site facilities except a small shop. Reculver was the place to go for some entertainment in the evening, a half hour walk along the footpath to the amusements which were in small wooden buildings alongside the Reculver Club. Thanks for posting seeing the towers always ignites fond memoriesof happy family times.

That wicked woman that ordered the church to be blown up with gunpowder! Thank you for the virtual trip, Charles - like a mini vacation. Looking forward to the next one!

Thank you Michelle - yes, it's amazing how philistine people can be. Glad you liked the video - been out today filming the next one.

One of my favourite places and close to home for me it’s all covered in scaffolding at present in the past I have heard the babies cry and seen the flickering candle in the tower window it can be a spooky place. And there are times when you walk down to reculver at dusk along the cliffs that you come to a barrier A Hedge with a path through you come out the other side with the towers lit up by the last of the setting sun and there sometimes you feel like you have been transported back to the forties if the atmosphere and the smells on the air are just so

It’s like a sacred place strong with the force to a Jedi, means so much to me spiritually

My ancestor Captain John Cotton helped to preserve the towers, 2 generations of my family’s ashes scattered on the beach, loved reculver since my skinhead days in the 80’s
