Whoever planned this performance ruined all her chances. Her song is pure art, her voice is great but Immagine pretending she would do great while people keep lifting her, throwing her around. She sang bad from the beginning, so even before the choreography started. She couldn't handle the pressure of singing on such a stage. It's not just the performance....
Check some of her other songs she sounds amazing! here its probably one of her first live preformances because she is new to the industry I'm from romania and she blew up last year so she is quite new and young

I feel sorry for her, this song has such a deep message. But let’s be honest, vocally she wasn’t there. That’s why she didn’t qualify.
I just listened to the studio version and it made a very different impression! Maybe it was stress of the live performance. Maybe they could also hold off with the choreography in those moments when it could have made it harder to sing well (like when she was carried), if she wasn't feeling too sure about it.
well it was clearly that she doesn't have enough experience to dance and sing and also she had clearly emotions so romania tried to have it all

the shaking was mostly because of the choreo. she has a live acoustic performance and she did SO WELL in that. whoever staged the performance is to be blamed. of course there's things she could improve about her singing, she's hella new, but if it weren't for the choreo she would've done much better

Like, in the hardest parts of the song vocally she wasn't doing the hardest parts of the choreo, but those hard parts of the choreo made her nervous and well... that happened

I'm not gonna lie this was the most meaningful, powerful, vulnerable and honest performance I ever saw at eurovision. It gives me everything I need. The message hits my heart and I'm thankful to feel adressed.

I'm the only person who think that the nervousness she had maked the song more "colorful"?This is one of the performances I saw which are so pure and honest.
I personally think that the fact that she got caught with her voice and that she was being so nervous made the songs message more powerful. If someone who is anxious and is having mental illness like that, is performing a song which is about losing yourself and then literally just getting stuck with her voice here and there then it honestly gets even more touching. I felt that song and that it came from that performer, on that way I think it was pretty good. But also her voice is much weaker than on the actual song audio which made it way less powerful. Not sure why they did that or if she just couldn't make that voice happen on live. But I think that is the reason it didn't make it through (sorry for getting so deep into it but I literally thought about it 5 minutes before reading this)
I prefer live versions instead of official versions (music videos etc) because of the real details.
No you're not. I think her voice shaking made her delivering a more raw emotion. After all, this song is about feeling dragged back by a "crab bucket" society every time you're trying to show any initiative and do anything meaningful, and feeling overwhelmed and exhausted because of that.

Exactly what I think. Why did she have to move all over the stage when apparently her voice can't handle it? I think the song is one of the strongest this year, and she is an interesting artist. The studio version is amaaaazing. But I lost all hope when her live vocals were so shaky, and I ended up not voting for her. I wonder how she would have sounded if she would have a less dancy performance. I think she would be in the finals in that case.

i don't care if the vocals were bad or at least shaky, i have so much respect for her, singing and standing on this stage and living her dream - the song and the message behind is so strong, so powerful and for sure amazing. The staging was amazing too. Even if she's not qualified for the final, she deserves all the love and support - for me one of the best songs ever made for eurovision.

I think she had a heart attack while singing. I'm so sure she had a lot of emotions when she saw herself on the stage. I'm so sad she couldn't make it but she deserved to qualify, unfortunately the judge doesn't care she had a hard time on the stage.
She might have been emotional but at the same time she danced too much and when you move all the time that affects the voice emission.
Actually the judges did care of that because she was a qualifier for them. Roxen reaches 9th place on jury vote.

I loved France and Switzerland for the fact that they were very artistic.. the in-tune dance from Switzerland and vocals.. and the emotion through Barbara's voice as well as the lyrics, the story and the staging complimenting the lyrics and the story.. I loved Romania as well.. the dancing was just too much and cost her the final ticket. I don't think it's her fault.. more so to whoever staged everything.

This song doesn't have a part where she can take more than two breaths. It's normal for a girl her age to get tired while singing a song like that without being still. More than age, it's actually really complex to maintain the breathing technique while dancing like she did ( no other singers moved that much and if they did they had choruses supporting them )

The fact that this got 9th place from juries and didn't qualify from the televote is sad.. the song is unique and even tho her vocals weren't amazing, she earned AT LEAST a place in the final.. the fault is with the people who took charge of the dancing and staging in general.. just too much.. ughh I'm still mad about this tho. She's an amazing singer, but executing such intense choreography while singing perfectly is impossible. And she's very young without a lot of experience so I presume coping with intense stage fright isn't easy for her. They should have had a different plan regarding choreography where she's a bit more free to sing and let her voice out. With what you had to work with, you did amazing!

In my opinion, I thought Croatia was in a good semi because there are Slovenia and North Macedonia. When Belarus was disqualified, I was worried with the eastern europe because there are only Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. We knew Russia and Ukraine would not give each other point in jury. I really thought they both might not qualify, but their staging did a great job to attract attention outside eastern europe. With the nordics, I actually worried about Sweden because they only had 1 neighbour in that semi, unlike the previous years when they usually more neighbours.

I was honestly really disappointed at this performance 😭 it was my favorite song of the contest. She did her best but they shouldn't have made her move so much, she got so tired she went off pitch, which is a shame because I have seen other live performances of this song and it was AMAZING, she is AMAZING, and has an AMAZING voice. Vocals may be shaky, but the message stands out. I also have social anxiety (to some degree) and I experienced being downplayed so many times in the past, and her song just calls out to me. No matter what happens, I'll support you Roxen. ❤
