- Hey Horse Lovers! In this video, I had the most incredible liberty session with my 4-year-old Gypsy Vanner horse Mushu. We built an amazing connection without the use of ropes, halters, or force. It was truly a mind-blowing experience that showcased the power of trust and understanding between horse and human. In this video I will show you what we have been working on this winter and explain my methods and how to perform some of these maneuvers. I truly believe Mushu had a lot of fun and enjoys liberty as well. Liberty can be very beneficial to both horse and human. OMG! Having a Gypsy Vanner has been my dream and one day I swear I will have one. Mushu is the epitome of what a Gypsy Vanner is: kindhearted, eager and ready to learn, very people oriented, sweet tempered and gentle disposition. You have done wonders with this young fella and your love and gentle training methods really show. I love him so much and I just want to say how proud I am of both of you and the amazing things you've accomplished together. Love and hugs. 🥰
Having a Gypsy was on my bucket list, also. Don’t give up. I’m now the proud owner of a double registered Gypsy Vanner stallion! He’s beautiful and I got him for a very affordable price at a local horse auction.
I never knew I needed a Gypsy Vanner until I saw Mushu. Now, it's on my bucket list to at least ride one. He has the exact temperament I've been searching for! He is so cool! ❤️

Mushu is intelligent, kind, willing, curious and loving! What a nice horse! He is kind to other horses too. The way he intervened and tried to defend Gaston from Lumi by putting himself between them was amazing. That is a rare thing in the horse world. 🦄♥
I was doing some hand sewing while watching you work Mushu. My quaker parrrot was on mt shoulder watching the video. As you were clucking & smooshing, my bird was mimicking you sounds to your horse. It was so funny, I just had to tell you.❤years ago I had an Icelandic horse & a paso fino. I love horses, no longer have any, so I get my fix by watching you & your horses. Thank you.

Mushu is so willing to do and try what you ask. He is so trainable, loving, good natured, and happy. He is so well trained now in the year that you have had him, Shae. He loves the training bc he gets a lot of attention. Lumiere has learned some liberty moves, but Mushu has some extra moves. I love Mushu!!! ❤️🐴❤️🐴

I love all the horses but Mushu has a special spot because he always makes me laugh. He’s the silliest sweetest boy. It was really cool to see how hard he works for you completely free to choose. He kept his focus for what seemed like a really long time too. That’s got to be unusual for such a young horse.
Mushu is a beautiful dancing horse. He is so connected it is heartwarming ❤.
I so badly miss playing tag with my girl I literally am choked up watching this. The bond we share with our horses is completely next level and there's just not proper words other than spiritually entwined. This folks, is a blessing before your eyes!

Mushu is my fav , I know your mission but I feel like the moo is so attached to you and I have never seen a horse love its owner that much , I wish he had a forever home with you , he tries so hard to please you and looks like he loves whatever you do with him. You are so lucky to have him and he is lucky to have you . He did so well. He really is a smart horse and the two of you have such a strong bond. Obviously he trusts you completely as was evident with the tarp and the bridge.
I love his lace covered butt and noticed that the majority of his mane compliments the lacy butt. And boy is that mane getting long and his tail is very full. He is a handsome fella. Sorry Kyle I was talking about Mushu; but you're real handsome too. I like your new Carhart jacket.

First of all he did fantastic! Previously you said are going to sell him at some point and I feel so bad because he is so fond of you. Hope he gets his forever home. He is such a fun-loving horse and has the most personality of any I've seen and is so deserving of the best things in life! I think he is ready for the AKC obedience trials with the canines; he's so smart and such a quick learner. My absolute favorite.

Oh my God!!! How can he be so good??? And incredibly smart!!! The bond and the trust he has in you drives his progress. Walking onto that board by himself shows how smart he is and how much wants to please you. Mushi has the biggest ❤.
I taught my horse how to do a turn on the forehand both ways on the ground using the command 'step' Worked great as she crossed one hind keg in front of the other and stepped sideways. I also used the command 'step' for side steps. But I had to go slow and careful one footfall at a time. Once they learn this, they can try to go to fast and could potentially fall or trip themselves up however used correctly works great on side passes.
Whatever you are doing in signals he is responding to.
I love that you train with positive reinforcement. That always gives the best and most lasting results.
Also making it fun and a game makes it fun for him too!

I just love the way that you train your horses! You always look at the horse as an individual, and do whats best for them. Mushu didn't have to do what you ask, he CHOSE to! I just got my first horse, and your training methods are really helpful! Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher and presence on TH-cam. It's so hard to find people who train this way. I feel like my husband and I are aliens at our barn using totally force-free horse-first kind of training with our mare, but it's helped me build so much confidence with her. We have a long way to go, but learning from you has helped make this big life change so much smoother.

I know you’ve said you’re going to move Mushu along someday but I just have to say he has such a connection to you, it’s going to break my heart!
Mushu is not a horse I would replace. He has so much potential for use. The first time I saw him I thought he would be no value as a riding horse. But he has redeemed himself in so many ways. Not only can you ride him but you can use him with a buggy and his kindness and train ability are superior. Next up Belle and the baby then a buggy and more property.
When I was learning to ride , I was put on the horse bare back nothing on the horse. My teacher said now go around the ring. He said let your body tell him where you want to go. Look were you want to go. I encourage the horse to go and he followed my head movements. Just that slight adjustment the weight he just knew. It was very special. I understood that the body says more than anything we tell the horse. They are in tune to us we need to be in tune with them. Mushu is the best! He really enjoys the interaction with you! And, yes, he is so smart! I believe that if a horse has a good owner/trainer, in that the horse signs and signals are read with understanding and respect, then there is willingness to learn and trust. I think you have that sense and understanding in your training.
