Sir Cliff Richard is 79 years young. You are owesome sir. God bless you with abundance of good health and youthfulness, you look so young. LOVE LOVE LOVE TO YOU AND BIG HUG
Having grown up with Cliff and The Shads music in the late 50’s and early 60’s at school you realise why he was successful. Not only was he a great rock n’roll singer in that era, plus he was very fortunate to have people like Ian Samwell in his early band the Drifters writing brilliant rock music (Move It) that captured the public’s attention, then add into the mix that he later had the best guitar band in history - The Shadows, you then have a combo that was the best around. There were other good singers in Britain at the time but there was nothing to compare with Cliff and the Shads, there was an aura about them that has remained to this day, basically they were and still are very very good. The Beatles came along with a newer and fresher music in ‘63 and changed the pop and rock world forever. Then Cliff sang a lot of dross in the late 60’s and early 70’s, but because he had that early fame and the fact he was able to adapt to new and better rock music with the help of Bruce Welch with the I’m Nearly Famous album, he’s never looked back. Even his mates the Shadows went on to write and record brilliant albums until the early 2000’s. I think Cliff under estimates himself and certainly the music industry does. You don’t survive that long unless you are good.
Geoff T, 🙌🙌🙌 💯”you don’t survive that long unless you’re good, unless you’re really, truly good!” 👍👍👍. I also admire his humility & an impeccable personality! 🥰
To me and lots of you fans, YOU'RE THE BEST AND ONLY BEST 'Rock and Roll STAR EVER. Your kindness, humility, great attitude and more makes you #1 in many aspect of life. WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!
What a fantastic interview! All so interesting and entertaining and very educational at the same time! Loved hearing the bits about the music industry history and changes over the years. Sir Cliff is so talented and has surely seen it all over his long career! I’ve been a huge fan..and I’m from the US! There are Americans that love Cliff!
My great granddaughter comes running when she hears you (she is 20 months old now.) So yo have at least one young fan that is listening to you. She loves eyes of a child, she climbs up in my lap gets real quite and when it ends she wants more. Claps and try to sing with you when you sing gospel. Which I love to watch because she is just starting to talk clearly, but she sings in her way with emotions that has feeling you can see in her.
Sir you're truly very caring and God gifted and very kind to needy, you think of others, very kind hearted. Wish i could meet you. I can't stop loving you.
Cliff you are more than very cool. You have survived the crowds, the record companies, the media and without a blemish. No one has been able to do that and achieve what you have done. The only squeeky clean rock star EVER. You my friend are Very cool indeed.
Great interview, ithis hour with you helps to know you better. I love your sense of humor. I wish we could get an hour on UTube for Sunday Mass, the church Mgmt said they could not get it even though we pay for it. Love you. God bless❤❤❤
What a wonderful interview. There are many more great songs in Cliff's catalogue that are never heard: 'Cant take the hurt anymore' for example, a beautiful ballad from the 1978 album 'Green Light'. Best albums if you're just discovering Cliff: 'Something's Going On' (2004), 'Cliff Richard The Album' (1993), 'Real As I Wanna Be' (1998) and there are so many more...
I agree these are all great albums, but HeathCliff 'Live' is definitely the best album for songs and performances, though it's nowhere Near as good as the HeathCliff and The Making of HeathCliff DVD's. My signed 'HeathCliff the Rock Opera musical DVD signed personally in December 2018, has to be 1 of my definite favourites out of over 90 autographs by Cliff that I have.
Greetings, thank u for this successful interview with SirCliff!who continues to use his energy wisely. His Spiritual power is not about someone else-Or how effective he has/continues to become- constantly revolving in today’s musical environment! just phenomenal! He just continues bolstering us with his inspiration and enthusiasm! May our Lord and Saviour Jesus continue to bless you/him.
Wonderful. Both guys. Cliff looks 30 yrs younger. Tim admirably clued up, allowing us to hear Cliff's fascinatingly open take on the music world. Lots of stuff l hadn't realised. Love it that John Lennon recognised Cliff as cool ✔️
It's a shame Cliff is not more well known in the USA. I live here now and am constantly amazed that people say "who" when I mention him. On the TV there are radio channels and I always listen to the Golden Oldies one but I have yet to hear a Cliff song. The channel features lots of British groups and singers but never Cliff. Don't know why but have never found out who to contact about this. I've followed his career for years and love his music. I can't say I'm a fan in the true sense of the word (like I am a fan of Elvis) but he is the one constant still around from my childhood and I've come to appreciate him more and more over the years. He is interesting to listen to, has an amazing memory for the pop culture he has lived through and I eagerly await his new book that comes out at the end of October. BTW, one of my mates from years ago in England wrote a book on Cliff and I am wondering if he is the person Cliff referred to in this interview.
What a great interview. Really enjoyed watching it. Thank you so much. I love watching Cliff speak about his career and like Cliff said, you came across so interested and knowledgeable in what he was saying. It was great. I too would love to hear some of the lesser known album tracks live again. There are some excellent songs in his back catalogue. And he is so, so good live. I really hope you get to see his show. You will definitely go back again.
What a fantastic interview 💙l really enjoyed watching it. I love the way Sir Cliff talks about his parents❤️❤️One day I stopped to get food at Burger King and We don’t talk anymore was playing so l got so happy and asked what station they told it was Spotify playing. If I see you in the USA 🇺🇸 you will make my dreams come true again 💗😘💗
Really great cliff I love hearing you talk about your life you are so humble and grateful, but you deserve every good thing that has happened to you. Some old LP tracks could make great singles these days mixed in with your new stuff which is brilliant. You are the greatest always have been. God bless Irene 💙👍⭐
Fascinating interview. I started looking for Cliff Richard music only a couple of weeks ago after seeing the video on TH-cam of All I Ask of You with Sarah Brightman. I had no idea who he was( I'm in Canada) at first until I listened to " Here Comes Summer" and wow that took me back to when I was a teenager coming out of high school. We would sing that song all the time. It is sad how the music scene has changed. I grew up during a time when there was music playing in my house most of the time and of course I listened to rock and roll and pop music on the radio. OK here goes - They were the "good old days". Thanks for your music Cliff!
How I admire you in any conversation. But It is before my time because I am on your sites only 6 month. But in any case it for me geat pleasure to listen what you say. Thank you Sir Cliff Richard. Still love you❤❤❤
Amen...It is YOUR success that is predictable. I don't even think people who say your predictable as being a 'put down' because anything they say will never 'put you down' or bring you down and that's because Your success is predictably successful.
It is rare to find an interviewer, that listens and goes with it - not just sticking to rehearsed questions, who is knowledgable of their subject and who lets the interviewee expand and talk without interrupting. Cliff is a professional at interviews doing them for so long, but a bad interviewer can spoil it all, Tom is great with Cliff. Im glad, he didnt ask all the "usual" questions. Cliff comes across as per usual as honest, open and genuine, Really enjoyed listening/watching.
I live in America and I didn't know until today that you were singing at a young age. I had a song on an album that music came upon TH-cam and the group you had are guitar heroes. You're still good looking man. Elvis is dead, Michael Jackson is dead, you're still here. I love your music.
Have always been a fan of Cliff. I live in Australia and he has always been very popular over here. I've been to three concerts. I must say he looks much better letting his hair go naturally grey.
Dear Cliff! I barely understand what they were talking about, I just mean they were talking about records. But it’s so good to see you and I’m so glad you’re in the right color to look good, and this simple plaid shirt is so good for you too !! I was wondering if we will meet this yet in life ever, sometime ??? I do not know. But it's also good to see you that way at least ...
Siempre desde adolescente ha sido y será lo más hermoso una gran voz la mejor para mi seria lo más importante verlo y poder decirle que lo admiro y lo Estimo su gran admiradora Ma Dolores Real por siempre ❤❤❤
It would be great if Cliff did a tour or at least a show of half-forgotten songs like "Joanna". There are lots of great songs to choose from. "Love Is The Strongest Emotion", "Little Mistreater", "Real As I Wanna Be", "Butterfly Kisses" etc., why not revive them?
It's really lovely to see Sir Cliff getting respect from a young interviewer. This wasn't always the case in the past. Yes. John Lennon certainly knew who else was 'cool', including Sir Cliff and it was lovely of him to recognize that. Lennon had great taste. Good on Sir Cliff for, through sometimes some incredible odds, is still gracious and amazing. He deserves every bit of respect he gets. Arohanui and kia kaha to him from New Zealand. 🙂❤👍🌷🌻🌸🌺🌿
There was a Higher Power protecting Cliff Richard from entering the American music marketplace. I call it a marketplace because that's what it was and still is because it's always about money. There is zero doubt in my mind that if the US music powers that be felt they could make boatloads of bread off of Cliff, they would have done it in a NY second. The Higher Power had a better plan though. Cliff was protected from that happening in the late 50s and early 60s by Elvis being the iconic big money maker. He then was protected by the advent of Beatlemania. However, by the late 60s early 70s there was *absolutely no excuse* for failing to promote him in the states, aside from market financial viability. His pop songs like Sing a Song of Freedom, Sunny Honey Girl, Just Another Guy, Power to All Our Friends and many, many more were hits material. I'm American, I would have bought his UK recordings here in the states. Cliff, without a doubt had what it took to be as loved in 1970s America as Bee Gees, Bread, Carpenters, John Denver, Osmonds, Tom Jones, etc. extraordinary talent, looks, charisma, stage presence, on and on into the next decades. But, for that Divine intervention... The "problem" was he was not in his teens nor his early twenties which meant no longevity as a teen idol. He was a professing Christian appearing with the Rev. Billy Graham. Even though he looked fantastic, in the American shallow mind of celebrity and money making he was on the decline by the mid 70s-as was superstar John Denver. Ageism remains a rampant problem in the American entertainment business. Sex sells, youth sells. Cliff was undoubtedly sexy and undeniably youthful but his sex appeal was negated by his wholesomeness and his faith, according to the biased and dodgy standards of the American entertainment world. Olivia Newton-John was wholesome but she was a woman. Her blonde angelic beauty was highly marketable which meant longevity; she was quite young when she was discovered by the American market. Women were expected to be pristine in America at that time. Men had to be sex, drugs, and rock & roll dogs or there was no deal (unless someone had a cousin up the chain...) that double standard was glaring. By the late 1970s the Osmonds were building their own recording studios in Utah to appeal to their Mormon fans. The wholesome brothers knew their time was up. The US money hungry record execs didn't want files on a clean living, 30 something, UK Christian singer who they could not financially manipulate in a massive way. They were aware that Cliff was a seasoned, mature performer with a huge UK backing; they couldn't hoodwink him as they did the young ones (no pun). I've used the term protected because I believe IMO he was Divinely protected from the sewer that is the American celebrity scene. The American business model is known for chewing people up and spitting them out where money is concerned. They will sell out their granny if a sawbuck can be made. And then call it American grit. The recording industry in the USA at that time was no different. It's always been a grotty business. Cliff dodged a bullet, thanks be to God who sometimes hides the best away for Himself. Song of Solomon 2:14 “O my dove, [here] in the clefts in the rock, In the sheltered and secret place of the steep pathway, Let me see your face, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely.” Meaning, Christians believe Christ is the Lover of our souls and the Church is His bride. He keeps us hidden and protected from harm. This interview is the finest I've seen so far. Well done Tom and Sir Cliff.
Top interview. Cliff loves it when people are interested in his music. I would recommend several albums to check out the mains ones would be the three Bruce Welch produced I'm Nearly Famous, Every Face Tells A Story and Green Light and the ones Alan Tarney produced I'm No Hero, Wired For Sound and Always Guaranteed the most important early album was Me And My Shadows and of the fan favourites of this millenium are Somethings Goin' On, Soulcious and Rise Up. He didn't mention that he also lost Olivia Newton-John as a backing singer. He usually tells a funny story about her getting too much attention on stage so he put her behind a piano and then put the lid up when he came on stage so no one could see her. He did it for a laugh not to end her career. He gave he a regular spot on his TV show in 1971 and it was all uphill from there for her and she returned the favour when it came to singing Suddenly on the Xanadu soundtrack which is one of my all time favourite recordings.

Yes cliff was a beautiful and brilliant singer and I just like that about all men who are singers Ellen Jennings
One of the last greatest talent we lost recently was George Michael and now we are left with cardboard cut outs. Cliff was a real talent.
PR P Yes ! Cliff is a real talent! definitely agree🙌🙌🤩🙏
Mae B Donnelly. How lovely! 🥰. That’s so sweet!
Sir you're truly very caring and God gifted and very kind to needy, you think of others, very kind hearted. Wish i could meet you. I can't stop loving you.
God bless you many thank you's I loved every second love Janice xxxxx
One of the best interviews!
This is one of the best interviews I've ever seen👍😍❤️
Only because of Cliff. The interviewer was not up to the job of interviewing his guest.
Cliff could still fill arenas. I’m sure of it! All his fans are not really ageing. I’ve loved him for 35 years and I’m 43!
Undoubtedly, even at eighty, the biggest box office draw in the UK, as post covid shall prove.
Great interview! Really enjoyed it.
Cliff you are more than very cool. You have survived the crowds, the record companies, the media and without a blemish. No one has been able to do that and achieve what you have done. The only squeeky clean rock star EVER. You my friend are Very cool indeed.
You deserve all your success your humble man . But let’s not beat around the bush your very talented end of 🇬🇧👍
Your a class act Cliff. Great interview and interviewer.
Very interesting and relaxed interview. Credit to all concerned.
Great interview, ithis hour with you helps to know you better. I love your sense of humor. I wish we could get an hour on UTube for Sunday Mass, the church Mgmt said they could not get it even though we pay for it. Love you.
God bless❤❤❤
We always knew Cliff Richard was fabulous! As well as a nice person and kind. Thank you Tom and sir cliff Richard!! ❤️😍👏🏻
I love that song! He was at his peak vocally on that imo.
Always been able to sing good on you happy birthday love Jan xxxxx

He just continues bolstering us with his inspiration and enthusiasm! May our Lord and Saviour Jesus continue to bless you/him.
Wonderful. Both guys. Cliff looks 30 yrs younger. Tim admirably clued up, allowing us to hear Cliff's fascinatingly open take on the music world. Lots of stuff l hadn't realised.
Love it that John Lennon recognised Cliff as cool ✔️
Excellent interview - Long live Sir Cliff!
There is only one Cliff he is the BEST god bless you Cliff
On the button Anne.
Young Tom gives a fantastic interview.
Cliff looks fabulous in this interview. I like very much.
They look like brothers.
Love you Cliff you have been my idol
Well done Tom.
Fantastic interview, superbly researched, and you genuinely radiate a balanced critical like of Cliff.
RESPECT man!!!!!
I like his house too. It seems like him.
Very impressed by this interview. Thank you.
Ive always appreciated Cliffs take on Elvis.........
Great interview with a great rock n' roll rebel - yes rebel because he never conformed.
I live in America and I didn't know until today that you were singing at a young age. I had a song on an album that music came upon TH-cam and the group you had are guitar heroes. You're still good looking man.
Elvis is dead, Michael Jackson is dead, you're still here. I love your music.
The John Lennon quote was about Elvis, before Elvis there was nothing. Good interview. Cliff is a cool guy.
Cliff is a nice guy.god bless you.
Have always been a fan of Cliff. I live in Australia and he has always been very popular over here. I've been to three concerts. I must say he looks much better letting his hair go naturally grey.
I 'm agree with you . He looks wonderful with his naturally (I hope) grey hair.
What a fascinating insight into the music industry today and in the past. Good interviewer and fabulous interviewee, of course!

He looks very distinguished with his grey hair. I love it.
You are right! I love it too.
Class act...
I was thinking about him today I’m glad he’s doing well
Thank you sharing.
You have done this and achieved love Jan xxxxx
It's really lovely to see Sir Cliff getting respect from a young interviewer. This wasn't always the case in the past. Yes. John Lennon certainly knew who else was 'cool', including Sir Cliff and it was lovely of him to recognize that. Lennon had great taste. Good on Sir Cliff for, through sometimes some incredible odds, is still gracious and amazing. He deserves every bit of respect he gets. Arohanui and kia kaha to him from New Zealand. 🙂❤👍🌷🌻🌸🌺🌿
Make me happy sir cliff love Jan xxxxx
Great entertainment sir cliff love Jan xxxxx
Hope to see you soon love jan
