I imagine that if one of his future reviews is the actual Avengers movie, he'll make the thumbnail say something like "NOT THE BAD ONE" or something like that to avoid confusion XD

The series took a surreal turn with Diana Rigg because she had bewbs and leather and color was new to television (before the show went to complete crap with Linda Thorson), and the Swing culture, and and the movie had nostalgia, and surrealism, and..and... and... I got nothin'. I grew up watching the show, and this movie quite disappointed me.
This movie was so terrible. What was the point of everyone dressed as teddy bears? Why was there no security at the UN and this random guy can take them hostage and declare his evil plans? Then there was the whole thing with the clones. Bleh.
Sean Connery's wife said he was dealing some mental issues right up to his death. This may explain some of his choices with the last few movies he was in.

However, The Avengers (1998) is a very broad spoof that just does the above and says it's "ironic" while Kingsmen takes a precise scalpel to the tropes and subverts each and every one of them e.g the villain has dinner with the hero but instead of serving something gross meant to intimidate him, he serves him McDonald's.

Yes in the tv show, all that pointless banter has lots of sexual innuendo and some genuine attraction between the two protagonists. This movie has none of that. Nice how they remake stuff and totally not understand the source material. Like the remake of Total Recall doesn't have any of that "Is it real or is it a dream" from the original, a debate, which is STILL raging on internet forums today (where as everyone has already forgotten the remake).

That movie wasn't good, though. Besides being unfaithful to the source material, it was a poorly paced and plot-hole-riddled film in its own right. It's very unreasonable to expect a positive review. I mean, it's not among the worst of the worst that the Critic and his ilk have reviewed, but it's still a real stinker.
I actually think the old woman is funny. 1) The contrast of a polite request followed by loud gunfire. 2) The visual of an elderly person using a tommy gun is *most unorthodox*. 3) The expectation/hope that her shtick will be different, only to find it's not. Much like in your Why Do We Love Stupid? video, the humour is derived from our own suffering.
It would be funny but after seeing the polite shtick 10 times all of them failing miserably either being unfunny or annoying after the fifth time really puts a damper on later scenes.
Disowned Adaptation: Patrick Macnee hated the film, while Brian Clemens, one of the main creative forces behind the series, was dismissive of the idea, saying that "Americans making The Avengers is like making The Godfather in Watford".

I remember seeing this movie on regular TV when I was younger. The weirdness of some of the scenes are pretty much all that's memorable.

Yes in the tv show, all that pointless banter has lots of sexual innuendo and some genuine attraction between the two protagonists. This movie has none of that. Nice how they remake stuff and totally not understand the source material. Like the remake of Total Recall doesn't have any of that "Is it real or is it a dream" from the original, a debate, which is STILL raging on internet forums today (where as everyone has already forgotten the remake).
As soon as I heard who had been cast as the leads in this movie, I knew that it would be a disaster. Has Ralph Fiennes ever managed to be charming in any movie role ever?

That movie wasn't good, though. Besides being unfaithful to the source material, it was a poorly paced and plot-hole-riddled film in its own right. It's very unreasonable to expect a positive review.
I mean, it's not among the worst of the worst that the Critic and his ilk have reviewed, but it's still a real stinker.

I actually think the old woman is funny.
1) The contrast of a polite request followed by loud gunfire.
2) The visual of an elderly person using a tommy gun is *most unorthodox*.
3) The expectation/hope that her shtick will be different, only to find it's not. Much like in your Why Do We Love Stupid? video, the humour is derived from our own suffering.
It would be funny but after seeing the polite shtick 10 times all of them failing miserably either being unfunny or annoying after the fifth time really puts a damper on later scenes.
About the funniest thing about this film is it stars a former James Bond and a future M.
