Pediatric Assessment: Vital Signs

  • Hi friends, this video is the second of several that will take a look at various aspects of the pediatric assessment. Because children tend to give subtler warning signs that something is amiss compared to adults, it is important that you know how to obtain accurate assessment information from your patients. This way you will be better able to identify and act on the warning signs you come across.
    The five vital signs we will focus on obtaining are respiratory rate, heart rate, temperature, SpO2, and blood pressure. I hope that after you watch this video you will be more aware of the necessity of obtaining accurate vital signs so that you can quickly determine if a finding raises a red flag and needs further assessment.
