1984 NHRA WORLD FINALS, POMONA, CA.

With Orange County International Raceway closed for good, the NHRA Winston World Finals settled into third home in five seasons at the Fairplex in Pomona. All the stars are there including Big Daddy, Gary Beck, Frank Hawley, Don Prudhomme, Lee Shepherd, Bob Glidden and Frank Iaconio.

One of the greatest day's an independent drag racer EVER had for Ol' Sherm Gunn! ( what an awesome name for a Funny car driver eh! ) Took out Bernstein, got past The GOAT, Snake Prudhomme ( which personally broke this 23yr old's heart up in the stands 😭 ) Then took down Billy "The Kid" Meyers! Lastly, knocked off the new World Champion Mark Oswald in the Finals, the grandstands lost their freakin mind's!!! 🤪 Big winning TF was the cherry on top that day 👏👏👏👏👏
