I’ve just been told I came in at number two for a faculty position I applied to in August the day after Christmas, bringing the search to an end (faculty postings take a while to come to a conclusion). I have been so heartbroken. This reading resonates as I have to start the whole process over again in the new year while trying to finish my dissertation. Ive been feeling strange energy throughout december, everyone supportive disappeared. People from the past came back, got what they wanted, and then left again. Its only now i know they were distractions. Ive been trying to move for months now, paperwork is signed, and living out of boxes right now. But everything has paused. I just want to move my family and i into a home, not a house, a home. Start over again, and break the cycle of abuse entirely.
