Any time I see a Reinhardt skin I just get sad because I’m never going to own that shit Like. Minotaur Reinhardt. All Might Reinhardt. The Cowboy Bebop skins. It’s all just fucking depressing how shit the game is now for “free to play” players (and by that I mean, I bought the game for 60 bucks, paid for loot boxes because I wanted to support the team even though I already had all the skins I wanted, and now I’m left in the dust because I refuse to pay the same amount for 1 skin as I paid for like 30 loot boxes.) Overwatch didn’t want me anymore XD they eliminated the Off-Tank role. Turned Main-Tank into an entirely different kind of gameplay. So now I have no place in the gameplay and the monetization system has priced me out 10x over I miss when this was my favorite game. All good tho. My mental health has been better since I’ve started playing 90% single player games
I think this is just a breaking point in my hatred of their skin distribution for me. I’ve been annoyed for a while, but this is kind of on a whole other level. I really don’t like that even widow got the mythic, she just doesn’t fit with the theme at all, she has plenty of skins already, and it’s not even one of her best skins. but the fact that even ignoring that, they ignored ram who would have been perfect for this and they’re still ignoring venture like the didn’t happen and their money printers like rein, kiriko, and mercy are getting more skins is just really frustrating. I’m not under the delusion that everyone can have an equal amount of skins, but the fact that they don’t even try is really what’s annoying.

With all of the heroes who could’ve been witchers, witches, sorcerers etc… They chose Widow??? The girl with a sniper rifle??? How is that even tied to magic and potions in any kind of way in a game who doesn’t subvert expectations in general when it comes to designs??? I feel like that’s a fair deal BUT, $25 for a skin separately in Overwatch is really balls, it doesn’t include emotes, intros, whatever else. So that’s a topic that can be argued with. They always freak out about any skin releases and everyone in the comments immediately talks about how much they want it or complain about having to buy it. It’s genuine delusion
changes in maps circuit royale: defenders stairs on the left replaced by "high ground" for attackers, kiosk in front of the main spawn doors and top door spawn for attackers havana: banner on main road is to block sightline for widows, the very high sniper spot on the second turn lowered drastically (left for attackers, very hard to see on the video you have to pause as soon as havana footage is shown) and top door spawn for attackers dorado: obvious numbani: airport moved to the location where "on the current map" is between the two green buses after spawn (reduce spawn walk for attackers by around 20-25 meters)

On Numbani there was a Spawn door behind your head and the bus is closer to the spawn providing cover. And Golden Mythics isn't the worst thing ever, as someone that is an infrequent spender. I buy the Battle Pass every season and maybe a collab skin if It does something for me. I don't mind having choices when it comes to Mythic stuff. Especially when I only play a handful of healers. The days of collecting the world are behind us (sadly). Stuff isn't as good as the old days, but I still have well over 1000 hours in the game so I don't mind throwing them $10 every season to have something to work towards and put the game down again.

Make it necromancer summoner themed skin Background-Skin theme is centered on Ram using the fallen bodies of his brothers and sisters, centered on him using dark magic to fuse their souls with his so they can live on. Unique skill trait-his weapon now shoots what looks like souls at enemies. Shield-Make it so bone hands shoot up to hold the shield Trap-make it so it’s bones that swirl around the aoe Transform-Transform the skin to look more like a golem Ultimate-“Rise my fallen comrades!” Ram is surrounded by ghostly omnics that circle around him during ult
Overwatch devs really are just cashing out on all the assets that they developed between ow1 and ow2. I dont think sense overwatch 2 theres been actual development outside of skins and the occasional seasonal gamemode

Numbani doesn't appear to have the little courtyard to the right (that people only fought at for the first few months of the games release in OG OW). It looks like they might have made the start area of Numbani relevant (maybe).
Every time I think about playing Overwatch again, they hit me with another completely out-of-place skinpack. Look, Fortnight could get away with it because that doesn't really much of a story or memorable characters to it. It's just a vehicle for merchandise. I was under the impression that a lot of us who played Overwatch from the start were there for the characters and the setting. If that's not going to matter, then why should any of us care?
Stylosa, there’s a character named Phreak from the list of early concept characters and he has the most similar features to that place older image on the character selection screen. Also, that character behind Mccloud in the painting kinda resembles Phreak because of the mohawk, possibly their skin complexion, and the sword like weapons on their backs.
There's also a old roster that shows one hero that looks pretty close to that turtle character you were talking about. His name is phreak, and he's right under "watcher" on the overwatch 1 pre release roster. Fyi. If you wanna check that out.
-the sombra skin is a re-re-color, the 3rd version, buy again at full price ofc -back in beta, the 'reaper picks up souls to heal' also prevented mercy rez, it was interesting but deemed too convoluted and inconvenient due to small pickup radius for reaper -blizz is in max greed mode, if they were old blizz the recolors would be "free updates for everyone who has those older skins, old skins now reduced price forever"
A cool ult would be summoning a wall of armored horses that stampede and depending on positioning, either trample or knock back enemies with damage based on how many horses run them over or how far away they get flung
Look 34s into the video and you'll see a different concept image of the cast. Echo is there in the background, center-right, but on the far-right there is a bulky red, white and yellow character with a Scottish flag-shape on their chest! That's the early image of Phreakz. That other image is a Junkrat/Junker Queen precursor. Yes, the flag colors are wrong for Scotland, and it's probably just a coincidence, and yet it might have given them the idea to make him Scottish later.
im calling it as what looks obvious to me is that the new tank clearly a scottish punk rocker, more rock than punk. hulking rock like armor perhaps based of the rhino omnic, that fires crystals shards, exploding outward. creating mei like stone walls etc
I'm wondering if we just actually got 2 new hero teasers. Maybe McCloud is chasing after Phreak (or whatever their actual name will be) which was in that black orb. The voice combined with Los Muertos looking graffiti didn't really match with what I would have expected McCloud's whole angle to be about, so possibly we're seeing more than we realize?
I think the pictures are in alphabetical order, "Venture" is in the correct placement next to widow. From that you could deduce that the next tank hero is named between S and W. Mccloud wouldnt fit that. It is possible that they didnt have a name for him yet, but more than likely they have these heroes planned out with a name.
I feel that Widow's mythic skin was from the season with Tracer's mythic skin. It was probably in the battle pass or in the store and the pulled it to tweak it.
Imagine if they gave us the ability to customize the colors of the Mythics warframe style instead of adding yet another color variant. Also absolutely agreed... That widow mythic looks like a legendary with some particle effects. Oh yeah the new tank is Phreak for sure. Check him out.
Someone pointed out that Ram has a staff and no tank has a Mythic. Warlock Mythic for Ram is such a missed opportunity. Especially as Widow already has so many skins. 3 DPS skins after 2 Support skins when tank mains need the love is a poisoned dagger to the ribs. Honestly, Scottish Tank, Map Reworks and Junk's Laboratory really need to deliver.
Numbani is the spawn. Looks like the added a ramp on the right side to go up to the previously inaccessible crosswalk (unless you go left) and opened a previously closed wall that was there. And looks like they might’ve removed that crosswalk near the first 11:29 bus. I guess the goal was opens it up and make it less of a pigeon hole.
6:50 - The potential new tank icon sort of matches the weird image on the top right of the teaser at 7:00 . It's mouth open with yellow/fire spking out of the top.
If you look at the picture that people are saying is an early version of Phreakz ... I think it's an early mix-up of Junkrat and Junker Queen. They have an artificial leg, an artificial arm, are carrying a long-shafted melee weapon, a club in the image but would be used how Carnage is, and they look like a junker. I think that Phreakz is going to be more bulky than JQ. The early OW imagery is full of bulky-looking tank characters that are mostly absent from the game today.
As someone with Scottish history throught my grandparents on my mom side of the family, i cant wait to play the new tank. Now i just need an irish tank and ill be happy to represent both sides of my family on overwatch
The way I look at recolors is you get them in place of nothing at all. Usually we would have gotten one mythic skin and one mythic weapon and that would be all. But this season we get the mythic skin, the mythic weapon and the mythic recolors. It's literally just more content that doesn't take away from development time.
Imagine the guilded mythics is an earned reward by playing comp games or whatever. Now that would be cool. But bet this is just going to be 30 bucks. Blizzzzzard. Cod doesn't even have recolors as far as i know. They are worse than cod in that aspect.
Well, I'll give them credit for putting Widow in a very unexpected role as a spell slinger. The soul orbs for Reaper persisted in OW1 for at least the first year post-release.
Is the scottish voice McCloud? Also phreak was allures to another character pitched that never made the cut. Phreaking is a slang word for the method that refers to reverse engineering a phone line or tapping into it. IDK if this helps. I was just watching a video on characters that never made the cut.
They should of made the skins more spooky and took a little more time into them specifically the mythic. But the map reworks sound nice! But it just doesn't look like they put much effort into this.
It looks like Numbani has been heavily reworked, the first attackers spawn (the airport) looks entirely different, possibly the routes to the point have been totally changed
The Widow skin doesn't look bad but 1. It doesn't give off mythic, especially coming off of Reaper. 2. It doesn't fit the character and there are characters that would fit way better
Not that I'm happy about it, but for the record, I don't think they're so much 'mythic recolors' as they're 'Golden Armors' to accompany the 'Golden Weapons' and...yeah, I guess you can call it a recolor the same way the golden weapon skin is a recolor of whatever weapon you have equipped, but I don't think that's their intention.

I feel like that’s a fair deal BUT, $25 for a skin separately in Overwatch is really balls, it doesn’t include emotes, intros, whatever else. So that’s a topic that can be argued with. Cod sells really amazing skins for $20 and it includes like 4-5 stuff in it.

5:40 Sty you're focusing too much on the accent. There is concept art from OW1 for a character with the exact same name that was teased. He's called Phreak and has the same green mohawk as the chibi icon from last blizzcon.
His icon is also on the wall next to the phreaks graffiti

People love spending their paychecks on this game. If you don’t believe me, look at the subreddits for each characters main. They always freak out about any skin releases and everyone in the comments immediately talks about how much they want it or complain about having to buy it. It’s genuine delusion

Yeah it was definitely in year one. Can't remember how much longer but at least 6-12 months.
I played year 1 but not the Beta, and I remember gathering the orbs and the change to passive damage vamp.

circuit royale: defenders stairs on the left replaced by "high ground" for attackers, kiosk in front of the main spawn doors and top door spawn for attackers
havana: banner on main road is to block sightline for widows, the very high sniper spot on the second turn lowered drastically (left for attackers, very hard to see on the video you have to pause as soon as havana footage is shown) and top door spawn for attackers
dorado: obvious
numbani: airport moved to the location where "on the current map" is between the two green buses after spawn (reduce spawn walk for attackers by around 20-25 meters)
There are so many better heroes to give a mythic skin, but they chose widow…..

On Numbani there was a Spawn door behind your head and the bus is closer to the spawn providing cover. And Golden Mythics isn't the worst thing ever, as someone that is an infrequent spender. I buy the Battle Pass every season and maybe a collab skin if It does something for me. I don't mind having choices when it comes to Mythic stuff. Especially when I only play a handful of healers. The days of collecting the world are behind us (sadly). Stuff isn't as good as the old days, but I still have well over 1000 hours in the game so I don't mind throwing them $10 every season to have something to work towards and put the game down again.

Every time I think about playing Overwatch again, they hit me with another completely out-of-place skinpack. Look, Fortnight could get away with it because that doesn't really much of a story or memorable characters to it. It's just a vehicle for merchandise. I was under the impression that a lot of us who played Overwatch from the start were there for the characters and the setting. If that's not going to matter, then why should any of us care?

Stylosa, there’s a character named Phreak from the list of early concept characters and he has the most similar features to that place older image on the character selection screen. Also, that character behind Mccloud in the painting kinda resembles Phreak because of the mohawk, possibly their skin complexion, and the sword like weapons on their backs.
There's also a old roster that shows one hero that looks pretty close to that turtle character you were talking about.
His name is phreak, and he's right under "watcher" on the overwatch 1 pre release roster. Fyi. If you wanna check that out.

-back in beta, the 'reaper picks up souls to heal' also prevented mercy rez, it was interesting but deemed too convoluted and inconvenient due to small pickup radius for reaper

Look 34s into the video and you'll see a different concept image of the cast. Echo is there in the background, center-right, but on the far-right there is a bulky red, white and yellow character with a Scottish flag-shape on their chest! That's the early image of Phreakz. That other image is a Junkrat/Junker Queen precursor. Yes, the flag colors are wrong for Scotland, and it's probably just a coincidence, and yet it might have given them the idea to make him Scottish later.
im calling it as what looks obvious to me is that the new tank clearly a scottish punk rocker, more rock than punk. hulking rock like armor perhaps based of the rhino omnic, that fires crystals shards, exploding outward. creating mei like stone walls etc
I'm wondering if we just actually got 2 new hero teasers. Maybe McCloud is chasing after Phreak (or whatever their actual name will be) which was in that black orb. The voice combined with Los Muertos looking graffiti didn't really match with what I would have expected McCloud's whole angle to be about, so possibly we're seeing more than we realize?
Next we will have map recolours.
I think the pictures are in alphabetical order, "Venture" is in the correct placement next to widow. From that you could deduce that the next tank hero is named between S and W. Mccloud wouldnt fit that. It is possible that they didnt have a name for him yet, but more than likely they have these heroes planned out with a name.
When you hear that the other "not dead" hero FPS comes with rebellious Scottish swordsman:

I feel that Widow's mythic skin was from the season with Tracer's mythic skin. It was probably in the battle pass or in the store and the pulled it to tweak it.

Someone pointed out that Ram has a staff and no tank has a Mythic. Warlock Mythic for Ram is such a missed opportunity. Especially as Widow already has so many skins. 3 DPS skins after 2 Support skins when tank mains need the love is a poisoned dagger to the ribs. Honestly, Scottish Tank, Map Reworks and Junk's Laboratory really need to deliver.
Numbani is the spawn. Looks like the added a ramp on the right side to go up to the previously inaccessible crosswalk (unless you go left) and opened a previously closed wall that was there. And looks like they might’ve removed that crosswalk near the first 11:29 bus. I guess the goal was opens it up and make it less of a pigeon hole.
6:50 - The potential new tank icon sort of matches the weird image on the top right of the teaser at 7:00 . It's mouth open with yellow/fire spking out of the top.
If you look at the picture that people are saying is an early version of Phreakz ... I think it's an early mix-up of Junkrat and Junker Queen. They have an artificial leg, an artificial arm, are carrying a long-shafted melee weapon, a club in the image but would be used how Carnage is, and they look like a junker. I think that Phreakz is going to be more bulky than JQ. The early OW imagery is full of bulky-looking tank characters that are mostly absent from the game today.
As someone with Scottish history throught my grandparents on my mom side of the family, i cant wait to play the new tank. Now i just need an irish tank and ill be happy to represent both sides of my family on overwatch

The way I look at recolors is you get them in place of nothing at all. Usually we would have gotten one mythic skin and one mythic weapon and that would be all. But this season we get the mythic skin, the mythic weapon and the mythic recolors. It's literally just more content that doesn't take away from development time.
Imagine the guilded mythics is an earned reward by playing comp games or whatever. Now that would be cool. But bet this is just going to be 30 bucks. Blizzzzzard. Cod doesn't even have recolors as far as i know. They are worse than cod in that aspect.
Buying them with comp points would be dope af lowkey

Well, I'll give them credit for putting Widow in a very unexpected role as a spell slinger. The soul orbs for Reaper persisted in OW1 for at least the first year post-release.

Is the scottish voice McCloud? Also phreak was allures to another character pitched that never made the cut. Phreaking is a slang word for the method that refers to reverse engineering a phone line or tapping into it. IDK if this helps. I was just watching a video on characters that never made the cut.
They should of made the skins more spooky and took a little more time into them specifically the mythic. But the map reworks sound nice! But it just doesn't look like they put much effort into this.
It looks like Numbani has been heavily reworked, the first attackers spawn (the airport) looks entirely different, possibly the routes to the point have been totally changed
The Widow skin doesn't look bad but 1. It doesn't give off mythic, especially coming off of Reaper. 2. It doesn't fit the character and there are characters that would fit way better

Not that I'm happy about it, but for the record, I don't think they're so much 'mythic recolors' as they're 'Golden Armors' to accompany the 'Golden Weapons' and...yeah, I guess you can call it a recolor the same way the golden weapon skin is a recolor of whatever weapon you have equipped, but I don't think that's their intention.
Only thing I am excited for is the upcoming tank hero, Phreak. We're definitely getting a playtest of him sometimes next season.
