"I'm actually vegetarian but I've been completely disregarding it for this channel" she's my favourite 😭
A big shout out from Scotland. The tasters seem like cool people. Keep up the good work.
I'm convinced that the Scottish DNA is strong in Skyla. 🏴
@@SouthernTriedChannel It's OK. She probably raises the average IQ of both countries by staying there. 😉
@@SouthernTriedChannel I am Scottish I would definitely claim her she's cool
for help with pronouncing worchestershire sauce its commonly called
'Wuster-sherr sauce' or 'Wuster-sauce' by most brits 😁
I had no problem saying it until I heard a Southern guy say “wash yer sister”😂
The Mackie family have farmed in Aberdeenshire for generations I grew up there as my dad was dairy baillie for 20 years the family still have the farm but a lot of the land is now rented out to another farmer great channel & videos 👍
A haggis is basically a type of sausage. The sheep's stomach is only used as a casing to hold the minced organ meat*(mixed with lamb or beef suet, oatmeal and seasonings) together during cooking, you don't eat the casing you just slice it open after it's cooked and remove the edible contents.
* sheep's heart/liver/lungs(aka the pluck).
It sounds offal(get it?) but it's honestly not that bad, it just tastes like a highly seasoned meatloaf, very savoury.
@@alfiekelly5914 we will eventually still TRY some version of it. 😉
No version will compare to scottish haggis.. got to be halls haggis and the best blackpudding is from Stornoway😋
@@shireemanders9164 Halls is mass produced rubbish, go to any decent butcher that does their own haggis.
I really like these people. They seem nice folks.
We edit them to make them seem nice. They’re actually all a$$holes. Jk they’re all really cool to be around.
Aberdeen is the home of angus beef!! And its home to the potatoes that make golden wonder crisps😋.. give them a try. Also scottish tablet, Abernethy biscuits are traditional scottish treats.
Haggis is normally eaten with mashed, buttered potatoes, and mashed peppered turnip and the overall taste is a slightly peppery, buttery taste with a slightly grainy texture.
It's delicious, and most people would love it if they were used to eating it.
People in Scotland have been eating it since centuries. Its just normal food and don't give it a second thought.
Keep that in mind when you do try it, and take a good forkfull. Don't nibble it, or it won't taste the same.
Shout out from Aberdeen it's a city north east Scotland on the coast , mackies crisps are ace
Can we clone the lady with the hooped earrings? Cos everyone needs one of her in their life! 😊

My wife and myself have added both Charity and Tyler to our dinner party invite list! Charity being one of the nicest smiley people ever and the serious side covered by Tyler. All the best from Scotland.
Vegetarian. I don't think most meat flavoured crisps contain any meat products.
Yeah they're made up of artifical flavours,I eat beef and bacon flavoured crisps and veggie too x
Some do, but it'll almost always say on the packaging if its vegetarian suitable.
I never knew they made crisps/chips, I love their ice cream though, they make amazing ice cream!
Mackies crisps aren't actually available any more, they've been rebranded as Taylors.
@@Jrf-1884 Taylors bought Mackies shares, it was a joint venture now just Taylors, still great though.
We really need a Haggis eating reaction. It's delicious.
You should see a full Scottish breakfast, it's like a full English on crack.
Even though it’s illegal to import haggis into the US, we will find a way to TRY it on the channel in some form.
Anyone who hasn't tried Haggis always says it's disgusting, but when they actually try it they become Scottish 😂😂
@@SouthernTriedChannel make sure to try neeps in that episode too, also a staple accompaniment with haggis (also tatties but I'm sure they've tried potatoes😂)
Haggis hunting is hard but i use scotch and cheese so i get a male and female yum yum 😋
Remember my granda telling me about the winter of 67. Lost in the highlands, hunted a wounded haggis for 14 miles, until it finally dropped.
Just as he was going to finish it off, 32 wild haggis appeared and chased him down from ben dong. Glad he was able to live to tell the tail
Before Mackies ice cream and Taypack potatoes went into partnership to start making crisps, I worked in economic development for Scottish government agency and we had been helping the company develop the idea with financial grants and business support ideas and advice. Their “account manager” from my organisation assigned to work with the company came back to our office from an early visit when the idea was still in its infancy and told us the company was looking for flavour ideas with a Scottish angle. The usual suspects of haggis, Aberdeen Angus steak, Ayrshire ham, cheese, Scottish seafood, sea salt etc were suggested, and thinking of the still quite new flavour of sweet chilli, I suggested Scotch Bonnet. Not just a chilli, but a chilli with a link of sorts to Scotland. The account manager took those ideas back to the company and amongst others, they went with Scotch Bonnet. Now other people probably suggested a chilli flavour too, and some might even have hit upon the “Scotch” link too, but I certainly did and I am claiming the honour of being the innovative person who came up with the idea.
skyla might like to know a lot of our meat flavour crisps are vegetarian
Haggis has spice to it so it’s not just black pepper your getting, these are my favourite crisps especially black pepper and haggis 👍🏼
Called Taylors now but a while back they did Lorne Sausage and Brown Sauce...
Crisps, the best ones I think are Tayto chesse and onion from Ireland.
My Dad used to pick tatties as a lad in the area those crisps come from. Lovely farmland in the Carse. Famous for their berries.
They should have washed it down with some irn bru 😁
I love Mackies cheese and onion but i have to be careful because if I open a packet I will demolish it.
The younger ones on the channel say they “smashed it” or “f_cked it up”when we send leftovers home with them.
This visceral reaction by Americans to hearing the word "haggis" is hilarious.
Haggis is tremendous and the veggie version is pretty good too.
We will TRY haggis on the show someday. Not easily imported into the states though. 😊
Aberdeen is city NW Scotland and the Aberdeen Angus is a world famous black cattle breed originally bred in the Aberdeenshire area of Scotland.
Black cattle breed? Wow, you sir know way more about our cows than I do for sure. One thing I will say though is, Argentinian Beef and Australian Beef generally comes from Aberdeen Angus cows that were shipped to both countries from Scotland back in the day
There is no such thing as 'a part of the bacon you dont want.'.😂😂😂
Aw nooo, here they have changed name to Taylors. The factory is near me here.
I don't know if they have kept the name Mackies to distribute abroad?
There is a fruit winery along the road from the factory called Cairn O'Mhor. They do local harvested fruit and oak leaf wine.
Best of both worlds.
Second scottish munchy video. You got a new sub and binge watcher. Here's a wee scottish saying for when you don't know something " if you dinny ken ,you dinny ken, ken "😂😂 dinny ken what it is about southern Americans but you all seem awsome kind folk that you'd spend a night getting pished in the pub laughing the full night !!
Thank you so much! Supposedly the mountains we come from was once connected to the highlands of Scotland. We might be the same kind of folk. 😉
Or if you don't like the taste of something it's minging or boughing 😂
Mackie's they also make delicious ice-cream they have different delicious flavours Traditional (vanilla) flavour, Honetcomb flavour, Strawberry swirl, Chocolate, Raspberry Ripple, Scottish Tablet and Salted Caramel. All delicious flavours. Would love to see what they think of our Scottish ice-cream.
The Aberdeen Angus used to have cracked black pepper as well I'm not sure they'll be as good now without the pepper.
The big guy knows how to eat crisps. I entirely agree with him saying "You have to have multiple to get the full effect". People that eat crisps one at a time annoy the fuck out of me.
My left ear loved this
Someday we’ll tickle both your ears at the same time 😉 problems bee fixed
Should try a haggis supper fae the chippy 🤙 fills a hole so it dose
The vegetarian needs to look at the Walkers brand crisps, even the meat flavours are vegetarian safe.
No way!! That's awesome. I love the cheese and onion ones. I'll have to try more flavors.
Considered yous eat hotdogs whoch is all the left over part dont slag haggis its amazing with neeps and tatties ❤
You preachin' to the choir with this Yank. There is actually some in my fridge as I type. I'm making brekkie with it when I get up. Haggis, a couple of sunny-side-up eggs and hashbrowns! 😋
Mackie's are now called Taylor's. Same produce. They also make Ice Cream.
@@robcampion9917 Yes. The Taylor family have always been involved, but they took over. Mackies that aren't past the sell by date will indeed still be in shops.

Angus Beef my fave.
Left audio only again? Is your audio guy a DJ with only one headphone on?
Scotland build southern america
Aberdeen, The Granite City
Prawn Cocktail is the best flavour
Can you still buy these crisps?
We did! But I heard they’re now called Taylor’s in Scotland.
Is there something you can do about the audio... the reactors sound really quiet then the music comes booming in and deafens ya
I like the gang though
We’ve made adjustments. Stick around, one a handful of the poor audio episodes left to release.
The main flavour of haggis is black pepper
Do Americans not have beef crisps?
And tell the dude yes, Aberdeen is a place in Scotland known for its Angus cows. World famous. Come on!
Not many beef chips in the US. You can find smaller regional brands that have them.
Out of all those flavours you missed thier best , cheese and onion they are good. But the best crisp uk wise is brannigans smoked ham and mustard, which I have not seen since covid and I now pressume defunct... they where the best crisp in the UK in my opinion. That had it all texture taste a hit of mustard to make your taste pallet to hit 8.5 and something else to make them so moresome.. another thick but somehow soft crisp. A good spicy Haggis is good, but I am more of a black pudding kinda guy make that in a crisp hmmmm..
Scottish cusine can be amazing with world famous languistine caught and shipped to restraints world wide... I make a great scottish paella with amongst the rice, onions, red peppers and black pudding one big languistine stuck on top lol 😂
If you’re willing to travel,Kent Crisps do a Ham and Mustard with ham from a local producer around Canterbury.
@@johnleonard9090 dont temp me lol. I have tried some amazon purchase equivelants that are good, but none hit it where brannigans did... if they are defunct they should sell thier recipe and flavour mix, theyd make a fortune i recon.
RIP right hand audio channel
We resurrected it. Only a few episodes left of one sided audio.
1:20 xD So good!
It's Taylor Crisps now. Have gone there sperate way from Mackie's brand 😳
Mackie's crisps are no longer available..they were bought over and are now rebranded TAYLORS same crisp, same flavours, just new name and redesigned packets.
We actually saw that while researching. I guess there’s still some Mackie’s packaging floating around the US.
Na not the same.
We had HP sauce.
The factory producing it for 100 yrs in the UK was shut down and company sold off.
Then it went to Holland for production and came back to the UK in plastic bottles.
That's like us shoving Tulips and Edam up their arse and telling them it's Dutch.
@@michaeldoolan7595the Taylor family is a potato farming family that produced the potatoes for Mackies crisps, it started as a joint venture between the two families until the Taylor’s bought a controlling stake in the crisp business in 2013, not sure why they waited until 2022 to rebrand to Taylor’s but it’s definitely the same family that has always made the crisps from day one, Mackies still sell the same chocolate and ice cream and I’m unsure if the Taylor’s have any involvement with those products
I am shocked. Easily the best crisp on the UK market. Im glad they're still available and grateful for the info!!
I must say from a English guy, that Bird with Skye is Fit,from my eyes she is a Fit Stunner
Will she steal your crisps, though?
Would she dip into your popcorn at a movie while having a bag of her own.

Worcestershire is pronounced "Wus-Ter-Shur" so Charity had it almost right.
Haggis is sheep's stomach stuffed with heart lung brains etc and spices and oats
There’s no brains in haggis and it’s a synthetic casing used now. They haven’t used actual sheep’s stomach for years.
Why is this only in my left ear?
Early audio issues. We have a few more episodes to release with the one sided audio, the rest will be fixed.
Sheep stomach chips?!?! No lassies, the haggis is boiled in the sheeps stomach. The actual stomach is just a cooking vessel, if you will, it is not eaten :)
We explained to them what Haggis was. This was her first reaction to what we said. 😊
Worcestershire say it like "wuss-ta-sheer"
just think of haggis as a kind of meatloaf
Scotch bonnet ones sneak up on you the first few don’t get you then bang where’s the milk
When you realize stereo sound is actually a thing
😂 we’re still pretty new. Only a handful of poor audio episodes left to release and we’ll have fixed the problem ongoing.

Flamed cow 😂😂😂 beef
Southern girls just got something.
I think they just seem wholesome and innocent while being tough and strong willed. I don't know, aside from the hot accent they also make casual look sexy. Also BTW my partner and I named our child Skyla , thought it was a unique spelling.

'I know it's going to be artificial' says the American where everything is artificial.
My favourite crisps are non vegetarian
If you're trying scottish delicacies, then surely deep fried battered Mars Bars have to be included?
Deep fried battered anything.
Jocks and Northern Irish just put anything into a chip pan at max heat at random.
@michaeldoolan7595 we’re known to do the same where we come from.
It's called crisps as there crispy ....
im not 100% sure but I think the bacon crisps are vegetarian/vegan friendly.
A lot of the "meat" ones are. Most "beef" flavoured crisps use yeast extract(aka marmite), there's no cow involved.
Weirdly for quite some time in the UK the vast majority of meat flavoured crisps were at least vegetarian but there were cheese flavoured ones that weren’t, because the cheese used animal rennet.
Deffo not same flavour I have tried Taylors
next up deep fried mars bar
