He was a man whose financial acumen impressed several hard-nosed businesspeople. Backed by references from a respected lawyer, he was a well-connected broker who could provide funds for big international projects... At least, that’s what he claimed on his LinkedIn profile. Using the business networking platform to contact brokers who acted on his behalf to secure clients, he lured people in with the promise of millions in investment funds. The only catch was the payment of an underwriting fee, refundable once the deal was finalised. But the refunds never materialised. The so-called LinkedIn Swindler duped 39 clients from around the world, vanishing with their money and unfulfilled promises of investment.

This was excellent. I really hope that he will get his day in court very soon. These scammers make me sick to the bone. She exited according to her when she saw there was a problem. My problem with her is that she kept quiet despite enjoying the luxurious lifestyle with him for 18 months. She also benefitted and should be charged.

i agree, why pay someone else to get a loan, that then means that the person who is asking for the loan has something dark themselves, I will never pay someone else to apply for a loan,I do it myself, it started in South Africa when evil mandela took over, he started the open door for fraud and corruption, how can a criminal become a president of a country

A financial advisor wants money from you upfront before taking your money you want him/her to invest with no guarantees.
@@comancheflyer4903 that is natural,one pays the money over into his banking account and he then invests your money at a fee, anyone who thinks you're investment is secure should not then invest money,as there is no guarantee of making money 💰🤑

Based on my experience at Robertson SAPS, they can't even catch a cold from a tissue full of snot. Side note, there is a well known "security company " on Robertson housing a known criminal on their company/office premises.

The police in third world countries are extremely lax. That woman also said she broke things off when she realized this was pretty much a scam, but she didn't report it or return her cut. Sounds like an accomplice to me.

Golden rule that I use. Don't pay any deposits unless work starts also do only smaller payments until work is finished

There was absolutely no need for this to have been a scam. He could have gotten equity firms and pocketed the finders fee legitimately

It is a smart concept though, he just got lazy. Could have introduced the business proposals to a network of private investors and equity firms. I mean there's massive capital in SA if you're able to trace legitimate business.

I don't want this to be made out as if it's totally about race, yet i have a questión. If it were a black man from South Africa, so a black person with the same profile. Would some or most of these international companies have fallen for this scam? Or would they have done a better job/diligence on who they were about to into "business" with. It's an importance to remember that there are people of colour who scammers in this country, who scam international businesses on yearly basis.
Hi. European and American companies would still do due diligence no matter the race. Honestly the victims made bad financial decisions and yes its bad that they fell for it. But they made the decision to trust it. Same as the whole MTI scam.

To me it sounds the same as a Broker's fee or commission 😂 He ruined a great idea by rushing to spend instead of using the money to consult and link the business owners to equity firms.
