솔로 콘서트가 다가오니까 괜히 생각나서 보러 왔어요
이 영상이 처음 떴을 때 떨리는 마음으로 재생을 누르던 게 엊그제 같은데 시간이 훌쩍 흘러 솔로 콘서트를 하게 되는 날이 오네요. 라이브세션 모두 너무 좋았지만 특히 이 영상을 참 좋아해서 몇백번을 돌려봤었답니다.
하루가 힘들 때나 너무 보고 싶을때 틀어놓으면 맑은 목소리가 왜 그렇게 힘이 됐는지…
이 영상을 보면 처음을 생각하게 돼요.
오빠를 좋아하게 된 처음이 10년에 가까워지고 있는데요.
한창 사는 게 재미 없다고 생각한 때였어요
아침에 눈 뜨는 게 괴롭고 거울 속 제가 싫어서
잘하는 건 하나도 없고 뭐든 미숙한 게 참 미웠어요
그러던 와중 제 눈에 띈 누군가가 있었답니다
눈에서는 반짝반짝 빛이 나고
잘 살고 싶어하는 건강한 욕심과
잘 하고 싶은 마음에 잔뜩 긴장한 모습이 좋았어요
그래서 응원하기 시작했어요
혼자였다면 못했을 것들인데 마음을 등에 업고 용기를 내서 여기저기 열심히 돌아다녔어요
성장을 목격하는 일이 얼마나 즐거웠는지요..
여름 데이트 하자며 커다란 카드를 들고 나왔을 때, 첫 뮤지컬을 보러 갔던 겨울집에 오는 버스 차창에 기대서 벅차 울었던 기억부터 하고 싶은 건 꼭 해야 한다고 말해줬던 것, 첫 솔로 앨범, 힘들었던 어떤 밤에 대해 털어놓던 영상이 머릿속에 새록새록 떠올라요.
그런 날들을 끼워넣으며 교복을 처음 입던 때부터 대학생이 되던 날.. 그리고 꿈을 정하고 달리기 시작한 순간까지를 함께했는데요
그런 시간을 보내면서 저도 오빠처럼 살고 싶다고 생각했어요
1등으로 뛰어나지 않아도 좋으니까 최선을 다하고
무엇보다도 나도 다른 사람들을 행복하게 해 주는 일을 하겠다고
그런 마음이 자꾸자꾸 길을 만들어서 지금 여기에 와 있네요
공연을 처음 보러 서울에 갔던 날
한강을 가로지르는 지하철 안에서
서울에 살고 싶다고 간절히 바랐어요
서울에서 사는 꿈을 이루고
제가 일해 번 돈으로 첫 콘서트를 보고..
저 오빠만큼은 아니어도 제법 잘 살고 있죠?!
오빠를 들여다볼 때마다 매번

I agree with you SUHO is very talented I also realized that when I sing "baby don`t cry" I fell in love with his voice my feelings really surfaced I started to hear more in "Sabor a mi" I really loved hearing him sing in Spanish it was fun and charming, in playboy I was shocked at how sexy he can be and how he seduces you with his voice, in how are bread ost "sedansogu" it was seen that his voice had potential listen to the two versions and an evolution is seen in his technique to sing and I would spend talking but in the end SUHO IS THE BEST !!!!

Back in 2013 was when I lost my mom. I was also losing it, myself. Two weeks after losing the love of my life, EXO was bound to arrive in my country. It was the very first time I was going to see them. I cried in silence when I saw Suho. Not because I finally saw him but because I realized that if my mom was still at that time I would have gone home and told her how happy I was seeing the closest thing to an angel. (on her last moments when she was already delirious I jokingly told her Suho was my boyfriend and she smiled saying he was indeed handsome.) At that instance I also realized that maybe I do want to continue this life, that losing myself back then wasn't a great option, at that moment of happiness I wanted to have more chances of seeing Suho again. I had the urge to live because I had things to look forward to, one of which was seeing him every given chance. Now it's 2020 and I couldn't have been this strong and determined if I gave up back then.
So thank you Suho. Thank you for not saving me but rather teaching me how to save myself. Thank you. Hope to see you soon.

All about Self-Portrait album is art.
So it has been a little over 2 months after the release of Self-Portrait and I just found out that a k-indie band The Black Skirts participated in the making of this song, and they are one of the bands Suho has personally enjoyed listening to.
I really appreciate the fact that Suho, a member of a huge, mainstream idol group worked with indie artists like them and the artist of the album artwork, who is a fellow Van Gogh admirer, for his first solo album. Junmyeon was heavily involved in the making of the album (& MV) and it perfectly shows his personality and aesthetic as well as his talent as a singer, and I think it’s quite unique and special. I can’t wait to see what he does with his 2nd.
On a personal note, besides some sm artists’ music, I mainly listen to alternative or indie genre, and I also love art, so I was pleasantly surprised by this album. As Sehun said, a soloist Suho’s style is “different from the songs these days”, and may not be the genre the majority of Kpop stans tend to listen to, but his talent is definitely not to be missed. I hope that more fans acknowledge him not only as the best leader of EXO but also as a talented artist, and more non-fans discover him.

음원으로 들을 때도 너무 좋았는데 라이브 세션은 정말 준면이의 성격이 그대로 녹아있는 느낌이라서 더 좋다 정말 이번 앨범에 신경을 많이 썼다는게 하나하나 다 느껴져 그리고 O²는 들으면 바닷속에서 천천히 유영하는게 떠올라서 유난히 준면이가 생각나기도 하고 특유의 음색이 잘 녹아나는 곡이라 너무 좋다ㅜㅜ
