i heard that this game uses crypto mechanics, while the FAQ does say that players don't require a web3 wallet to play do we need crypto to gain access to new cards?
I'm super hyped for the game, the cards art looks great but the in game animations look quite boring :( Are there better animations with for example legendary cards?
I think that is subjective, they look great to me, but that being said - this is the beta only, and the Parallel team has teased more visual treatments for the future, so maybe you'll like those!

Do I have to buy the card decks from a crypto exchange?
No they are available on Base chain rn - the Starter Decks. You can also build your own by buying cards on opensea.
