One thing I can say with utter certainty that NO other actress will ever be able to give the same performance as Noomi when it comes to performing the character of Lisbet.
The swedish version will always be the best, thats what I think. I am a big fan of the books and the movies. And I recomment everybody to read the books too. Because they have the extra information about lisbeth and the story that compleets it
I can relate to lisbeth. I feel a connection to her charecter, even though it's fictional she seems so real. I felt like I was reading about myself at times in the book. Her attitude and personality is kind of like mine. Even her fashion sense in some ways. I learned alot from her.
@TheMunchfan The swedish movies were only rushed because they were actually a tv series of 3 hours each in Sweden and were then edited down heavily to be made into movies for international release. Although I agree that physically rooney looks more like lizbeth than noomi
after they finished shooting the last scene of the 3 swedish films, champagne was brought out to celebrate - but noomi rapace was in the bathroom vomiting. she had let lisbeth into her very being to be able to portray her so well; she became her. that is the ultimate homage (and sacrifice) any actor could give to become a character. i think that's astounding, and i admire her greatly for it.
The soundtrack's track list has been released. The full version of the song is going to be 2:48 long. That keeps it on par with the original LZ version and it means there's still a little over a minute of the cover that we haven't heard yet. :)
@pobanmanu That's the whole point of making another one. Rapace made her own interpretation of Lisbeth and it was absolutely fantastic and so was the film. But I have faith David Fincher will make it great too, and Mara's Lisbeth can be perfect too, she looks young and small and that fits the character described in the books.
Does any1 know where i can download this track? I'm a fan of NIN & the Yeah yeah yeahs, so naturally this is pretty fuckin' awesome! Link, please, anybody...?
Saw the screening last night...badass! She really did capture the character well, and although the the Swedish version had its own level of connection to the book I'd have to say that Rooney nailed the "innocent girl turned dominant force" more clearly than Noomi. Although, they added something at the end that changed the entire loner concept...enjoy
I loved all three of these movies. It made me want to read the books and I started the first novel after I saw the american version of the first movie. I got done the first book within five days. Now I'm on the second one but I'm trying to make it last a little longer since I'm on a waiting list for the third book but I'm the next one to get it. I'm going to be sad when I'm finished reading the series. I REALLY hope they do the american adaps. of the 2nd and 3rd movie.
I'm not sure which actress I like that played The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo better, the Swedish version or American/British joint Production. Roony won a shit ton of awards for her portrayal of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The newer (2011) version was difficult to watch at times, the rape scene especially. Roony Mara just came out of nowhere and played this amazing role and acted it with complete perfection.
@neocore6669 Swedish version that you are speaking of is/was seen world wide, and lot of people in America has seen it and thought it was great. You can order any where in America, Red box, Netfilexs
@LittleImpaler Salander has less hair and more tattoos than in the Swedish version. Rapace has enough hair to do liberty spikes (much longer than Mara). I NEVER said Salander was anorexic, I said she looks it, and it's been mentioned by several times by other characters that on first impression she's often mistaken as either having it or bieng a young boy. Noomi Rapace does NOT look this skinny, or in any way could be mistaken for a boy, she's too feminine.
If you actually read the books, you'll see that physically, Rooney looks more like Lisbeth Salander than Noomi does, whom a journalist called a "Joan Jett look alike" although I disagree on that.... Anyways, Noomi embodied Lisbeth's attitude perfectly, but you have to admit: the second and third movies were rushed. They were not so good. Having said that, I am stoked to see Rooney's interpretation and will hold my judgement until then, unlike most ignorant people on here....
@TheGreatKafufil true but Rooney doesn't have the cold face as Noomi does. Plus I thought Noomi did a good job being Salander. You're awesome, Lisbeth Salander!!
@pobanmanu "NO other actress will ever be able to give the same performance as Noomi" Right, but that doesn't mean it still won't be a better performance.
Am I right in saying that this a complete cover of the song?. The actuall cover is about 1:30 long and it is then repeated in this video. Or am I mistaken? I'd love to have a full version of the song covered in this way.
@MsPingu112 that is because people don't know shit haha..you can not tell how a person is by how they walk...I look down a lot too when I walk doesn't mean unconfident it just means that is my walking style..I can also notice dropped money on the ground if I am lookingdown I can notice things in front of my feet so that I don't randomly trip like other people do. There is a benefit of having a downward gaze while walking...but people always will just think it means something negative
@pobanmanu Seeing as Rooney Mara is really an unknown actress ... We might be in for a surprise ... Rooney was a potential candidate for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress last year, with The Social Network.
I really like to talk to other actresses about how good your movies are going on and on just to see what happens with the other things I like to just joke around hopefully this comment will reach you and make you happy
Rooney has a more disconnected look about her, which I find very appealing to watch her. This girl here, from what I have seen possesses a 'hard' look. And appears very 'connected'....'in the moment'. I have yet to see this version
in my personal opinion, noomi just came across as a punk rocker with an attitude problem. she didn't captivate me the way rooney did, she just wasn't lisbeth. i think the clothes may be to blame, obviously the swedish version had a much smaller budget but it was just overall sloppy compared to david fincher's adaption. yet, the Swedish movies will always have a certain charm to them that hollywood will never succeed in duplicating.
i saw the 2011 version i thought i wasn't going to like it but i like it but personally i prefer the Swedish i like how rooney did lisbeth but when she said the word please as a fan of the book i kind of didnt like that hahaha but well i think they both are good like if you put them togheter they both create the perfect book adapatation but i still prefer the first lisbeth
For those that are watching this trailer and expecting to hear this shit version of the Immigrant song you'll be pleased to know this superb film doesn't have it !!!!
you know the difference between the original and the us version is that the us version try too hard to make it look cool and stuff, but the acting was blah
@vincentBurden How? She looks nothing like the Lisbeth descriptions from the books. She's 30 and looks it, has too much hair, tattoos too conservative, and much more normal sized from the borderline-anorexic-looking Salander. Noomi Rapace brought a great performance, but physicality-wise, it was a poor choice.
If you read the books you would totally understand why David Fincher's version is better. The Sweedish version left out out and changed too many details.
You thought she didn't come off as mysterious or aggressive enough? Are you serious?! I love what you did here with this video but... no. Repace was probably very good for this role but as I've learned from friends it was nothing too memorable.
@Strand0410 too much hair???????????? Rooney Lisbeth's has more hair than Noomi. Noomi in the first movie couldn't put her hair into small ponytail???? Too much tattoos. Lisbeth Salander in the book as a lot of tatoos and pirecing. Lisbeth isn't anorexic in the book. Learn to read between the lines! People think she has an eating disorder, but she does not. She's a boxer's, she has a very high metbolism. Blovkisc and Lisbeth's boss knows she doesn't have eating disorder.
She is a great actress but her portrayal was not the Lisbeth from the book at all. I accepted it as a different interpretation but this wasn't Larson's Lisbeth. She was way to old, confident, extroverted, and her clothes and makeup in this movie were such costumes.... not good. Hope Rooney is better.
One thing I can say with utter certainty that NO other actress will ever be able to give the same performance as Noomi when it comes to performing the character of Lisbet.
Such a underestimated movie, much better than the American version in my opinion!!!
Yesss! Thank's!
The swedish version will always be the best, thats what I think. I am a big fan of the books and the movies. And I recomment everybody to read the books too. Because they have the extra information about lisbeth and the story that compleets it
Thank's,is truth!-that version,and the book's is the best! Original and genuine!🙌
Noomi Rapace is Lisbeth.
I can relate to lisbeth. I feel a connection to her charecter, even though it's fictional she seems so real. I felt like I was reading about myself at times in the book. Her attitude and personality is kind of like mine. Even her fashion sense in some ways. I learned alot from her.

I LOVE NOOMI RAPACE!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!! I LOVE THIS TRILOGY!!!
This and Let the right one in made me love Swedish movies!
The true Lisbeth will always be the original. Rooney did a great job, as well as Naomi, I watched the original first, I love both movies.
after they finished shooting the last scene of the 3 swedish films, champagne was brought out to celebrate - but noomi rapace was in the bathroom vomiting. she had let lisbeth into her very being to be able to portray her so well; she became her. that is the ultimate homage (and sacrifice) any actor could give to become a character. i think that's astounding, and i admire her greatly for it.

I can’t fully express how my blood-pressure went up through all the series.
Words will never describe the joy I felt after that crash.
Great version of the classic song.
I tend to hate remakes of fantastic songs but i love this version
this track is amazing
Noomi Rapace was Just Amazing Like the Lisbeth of the Book
I personally love Rooney Mara's look as Lisbeth much more than Noomi Rapace's. Can't wait to see what Mara will bring to the table.
i think the swedish one is better than the American one, thumbs up if u agree
@pobanmanu That's the whole point of making another one. Rapace made her own interpretation of Lisbeth and it was absolutely fantastic and so was the film. But I have faith David Fincher will make it great too, and Mara's Lisbeth can be perfect too, she looks young and small and that fits the character described in the books.
great song, i would love to hear the whole thing
Gorgeous woman!!

The original absolutely SMOKES this version!

Omg I wanna watch this version now

@bearjoo1787
Manson was Trent's apprentice so he was heavily influenced by NIN's music. So maybe that's why you feel that way
@LittleImpaler Salander has less hair and more tattoos than in the Swedish version. Rapace has enough hair to do liberty spikes (much longer than Mara). I NEVER said Salander was anorexic, I said she looks it, and it's been mentioned by several times by other characters that on first impression she's often mistaken as either having it or bieng a young boy. Thank you Trent Reznor!! and Karen O love the sound of this song...so dark n sexy
If you actually read the books, you'll see that physically, Rooney looks more like Lisbeth Salander than Noomi does, whom a journalist called a "Joan Jett look alike" although I disagree on that.... where can i get it with good audio quality, this cover is awesome! go trent!
@pobanmanu "NO other actress will ever be able to give the same performance as Noomi"
Right, but that doesn't mean it still won't be a better performance.
GWTDT (the original Swedish film!) and "Immigrant Song" FTW! ;)
Yay Lisbeth!
Am I right in saying that this a complete cover of the song?. The actuall cover is about 1:30 long and it is then repeated in this video. Or am I mistaken? I'd love to have a full version of the song covered in this way.
quedo buena esta rola buen cover
Trent is a genius!
Wow this girl is a thousand times hotter than the one in the new one!!!!
fuckin love this awesome song!!!!especially the drums!!!!!
@TheMunchfan I totally agree. Saying this sounds a little harsh, but I think Noomi was a bit too old :/
@dewman777 Took the words right out of my mouth ! Glad someone else agrees .
The 2011 movie is in theater right now.

@travisfan2 Actually it wasn't by Trent... the cover song of Creep... I can link ya :)
@travisfan2 Well, physically, she's closer to the book description. Whether she can pull it off or not is yet to be seen, but I'm hopeful.
The Girl with the dragon Tatoo (i think that you know this) is Rooney Mara. I like the video anyway.
Search for the sweddish versions of the Millenium Saga, and you will understand.
Resulta que la del video es la de la versión Sueca de la pelicula.
Interesting how so many can dismiss someones work before they even present it.
Noomi kicked butt in this film...
I'm in love with Noomi Rapace
Oh My this cool :) Mister fuzzy head?
@MsPingu112 that is because people don't know shit haha..you can not tell how a person is by how they walk...I look down a lot too when I walk doesn't mean unconfident it just means that is my walking style..I can also notice dropped money on the ground if I am lookingdown I can notice things in front of my feet so that I don't randomly trip like other people do. is this the full version or looped version?
@pobanmanu Seeing as Rooney Mara is really an unknown actress ... We might be in for a surprise ... Rooney was a potential candidate for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress last year, with The Social Network.
can you email me the track too? This track must go on my gym playlist
ONLY NOOMI RAPACE
im confused wtf is a trailer or the music video
noomi rapace is perfect match for this song
Rooney Mara as Lisbeth was good. Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth is win...
Wow what a totaly differernt movie experince, LISBETH RULES!!!
I really like to talk to other actresses about how good your movies are going on and on just to see what happens with the other things I like to just joke around hopefully this comment will reach you and make you happy
@lucasmets
Two things you need to learn:
1. Proper grammar.
2. Caps lock is NOT cruise control for cool.
@neocore6669 WOW!!! Glad to see someone keyed up about something! Lol!
In Fincher, we trust, simple as that.
Noomi was good too. It's just Rooney's take on Lisbeth is far more true to the book. Also she intrigued me more.
Ασχολίαστο!!!!!!!! Άψογα τα πάντα!!!!!!!!!
Rooney Mara is Lisbeth Salander... Sorry. :)
Haha, Maybe You should look around You,outside the US, The book and movie is ORIGINAL From SWEDEN, Your ignorant looser!!!
Mike Back Nice to meet you too and yes Rooney Mara is the best Lisbeth. :)
Rooney has a more disconnected look about her, which I find very appealing to watch her. This girl here, from what I have seen possesses a 'hard' look. And appears very 'connected'....'in the moment'. I have yet to see this version
yet they never gave her the following two movies for a reason. Performance was flat ad sooo american and commercial
in my personal opinion, noomi just came across as a punk rocker with an attitude problem. she didn't captivate me the way rooney did, she just wasn't lisbeth.
i think the clothes may be to blame, obviously the swedish version had a much smaller budget but it was just overall sloppy compared to david fincher's adaption. yet, the Swedish movies will always have a certain charm to them that hollywood will never succeed in duplicating.
In Reznor, we trust. Fixt.
@davidrope81 We can agree to disagree. I believe they made it better
i saw the 2011 version i thought i wasn't going to like it but i like it but personally i prefer the Swedish i like how rooney did lisbeth but when she said the word please as a fan of the book i kind of didnt like that hahaha but well i think they both are good like if you put them togheter they both create the perfect book adapatation but i still prefer the first lisbeth
@travisfan2 can you email this to me?
@zakkalaska Don't think there is one.. yet. ;)
Trent is GOD.
It's character acting.
@RogueShadows lol!
Btw it's Lisbeth....
@travisfan2 oooo can i have it too please. immigrant song is my fav ever and i love the yyy's and reznor is awesome
@dablacksquad Read description? Video made for movie

My álter ego!❤
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows LISBETH SALANDER!)
Rooney Mara was more like the books
I would like to see this version
For those that are watching this trailer and expecting to hear this shit version of the Immigrant song you'll be pleased to know this superb film doesn't have it !!!!
@neocore6669 Dude...
...switch to decaff.
@Frostylyxxx she's not supposed to look hot!
you know the difference between the original and the us version is that the us version try too hard to make it look cool and stuff, but the acting was blah

i think you mean noomi. who is the superior.

@sonicsubjunkie There are far too many close minded people in the world.
She is a great actress but her portrayal was not the Lisbeth from the book at all. I accepted it as a different interpretation but this wasn't Larson's Lisbeth.
