As we know now after 2020 and beyond, constantly looking into, reading, and regurgitating tragedies back to back can deeply affect your mental health. Being forced to choose her job of doing that over her mental health, which we all know happens as many of us are currently in that same situation today, she probably snapped and wanted to go out with some sort of revenge to the network for choosing profit of their own employee (who help bring said profit every day by coming in everyday and doing her job.) All she'd need in such a fragile state of mind is one person saying "Aren't you tired of reporting death all day" to validate how she felt and that it was time to "do something about it." Edit: Omg, yay, I'm not the only one who thought this, I just provided examples people can recognize.
