Dominot Helsinki / Dominoes Helsinki 23.8.2012

Dominot-teos valtasi Helsingin kadut Taiteiden yönä! Tuhansien harkkojen muodostamat reitit ulottuivat kilometrien matkalle ja yhdistivät kaupungin kadut ja puistot, metrotunnelit, salakäytävät, julkiset tilat ja koditkin kiehtovaksi verkostoksi. Kaupunkilaisten yhteisvoimin toteutettu teos piirtää esiin historiaa ja nykypäivää, yksityistä ja julkista, kaupallista ja ei-kaupallista tilaa Helsingin 200 vuotta kestäneen pääkaupunkikauden aikana.
The Dominoes took over the streets of Helsinki during the Night of the Arts! Thousands of bricks formed a route of several kilometers, uniting streets and parks, undeground tunnels, secret passages, public spaces and even private homes. The piece was built together with residents of Helsinki.

I just recieved my volunteer mail as Domino participant for the forthcoming Copenhagen event the 1. august. 2013. Looks exciting. Thought they were supposed to look like real domino game bricks in black with various white eyes.

it´s missing the part where it went down the stairs at the Kaisaniemi metrostation. Maybe it was too crowded because of a lot of people running after it. I got stuck there too with my pram :D

La performance "Dominos" du 23 août 2012 dans toute la ville d'Helsinki à l'occasion de "Helsinki, capitale mondiale 2012": les dominos passent par les tunnels, stations d'épuration souterraines, parcs, aires de jeux pour enfants et même à l'intérieur de maisons d'habitation : tous les citadins ont contribué à cette performance ce qui a crée beaucoup d'enthousiasme au sein de la ville
