I'm not on instagram but when you said, "The last thing some of you may be surprised about...", I said to myself "the sweater"; hahaha. Congrats on finishing it! I have two projects that just need to be seemed together; augh; it's embarrassing.
Glad you finished Wyatt's sweater! It seemed you had a lot finished. I sure do know how it feels to get overwhelmed by a project. Congratulations!
Last week I was admiring your conviction to enjoying your knitting and deciding to possibly abandon the sweater….and now…I’m just in awe. It’s beautiful. And please do tell regarding the top of the musselburgh. I bet you are correct and it doesn’t matter…I will be trying it when I finish my current one on the needles!!
I'm so glad you finished Wyatt's sweater! When you talked about giving it up last week, all I could think was OH NO not all those pretty cables? It's stunning. I know what you meant when you said why you were ready to walk away from it. That happens to me when I get close to the end of projects...I just want them done but don't want to finish them. That last quarter before casting off seems to take me the longest....and I have no idea why?! All of your socks are glorious as usual and the Musselburgh hats are too. Oh my gosh, that baby one! Can't wait to hear how that modified cast on works out. It would have a lot of fiddling. I haven't knit one yet BUT do have plans to. Wish I had a baby to knit for-I can't get that little pink beauty out of my brain! Oh and a belated happy birthday to you-that yarn you showed is glorious...can't wait to see it all knit up!
I'm so happy to hear you finished Wyatt's sweater. You had put so much work into it! It is beautiful and I'm sure Wyatt is very happy.
Good morning 🌄 blessings ☕ awesome 👍🏾 job 👏🏾
I've been really tempted in the past to just cast on in magic loop for the Musselburgh and sew the end it. It must work, right/ I'll probably knit a couple as Christmas gifts so I'm going to try it.
Love Wyatt’s sweater. I finished the Framed sweater by Andrea Mowry for a sample knit. Now to decide what to work on. Have a great weekend ❤❤❤
I know you are so happy that you finished the sweater. I’m sure he loves it! I hope you have a great weekend! I’m hoping for a relaxing weekend, this week has been busy busy!
I’m hoping for a relaxing weekend as well! 🤞🏻 we both get that!
Sweater is blocking out beautifully 😍!! Sock happy always ❤!! Happy Knitting 😊!!!
LOVE WYATT'S sweater!!!!!! It is glorious🤩 I'm so happy starting my day knowing you finished it. Congrats - you go girl!!!!!!! Carrie from Eugene Oregon 😘❤🐶🐑☕🧵🪡🧶
Speckles! Speckles in that new yarn! Wyatt’s sweater looks fabulous and much larger since you blocked it. I bet you breathed a giant “sigh” when it was complete. 😉
I use that magic loop method for my Mussellbourgh hat. So much faster and easier.
Yay! I'm so happy you finished Wyatt's sweater - and he likes it. I'm so with you on the 'lost the desire to finish'. I finally picked up the sleeves on my daughter's sweater. It should really take no time to complete. I'm loving the change in the air. Fall is coming!!!🍂
I LOVE how you are ok with not having yarn labels and also you have several sock projects cast on! You made my day with that one and I immediately cast on a second and third pair. I am now doing just vanilla socks and having fun doing different colors for heels and toes.
LOVE your podcasts, seeing your socks, bags and tips!
I'm so glad you decided to finish the sweater. It's gorgeous!
Wyatt’s sweater is beautiful, family heirloom. Love getting up to your videos. Perfect way to start my day.
❤❤ morning Kay 🎉
Congratulations 🎉 on ur finish of the sweater,,,it looks amazing,,,,a labour of 💕
Love rhinebeck roomies,,for sure,,,!!!
Take care
ELAINE 🏡💕
I'm so glad you decided not to give up on Wyatt's sweater. It is perfection and I'm glad he likes it too. I get that way too. Sometimes I just feel so done with a project but I push through and then am so happy I didn't abandon it.
There is just something magical about a gloomy day! I guess because I’m such a homebody I fully embrace the darkness of fall and winter! Love Wyatt’s sweater - what a feat! Enjoy all the socks now! 🧦❤🧶
I am so proud of you for finishing that beautiful sweater. You must have great joy to move on having completing it. All of your socks are amazing!!
Wyatt’s sweater is gorgeous!! So happy you changed your mind and went for the finish line!
So glad you finished the Savin. It’s beautiful.
So glad you finished the sweater . He is going to love that sweater. It's beautiful
Nice to see the finished sweater, socks and hat. Have a wonderful weekend friends, be blessed.
Congratulations in Waytts beautiful sweater
Socks so awesome and a Musselbure hat. O my goodness you rolling
So much beautiful yarn
Ah you finished Wyatt’s sweater. I’d definitely love to see a picture of him wearing it but if he’s not comfortable that’s his decision, and I respect that. Cristie’s yarns are some of the best that I ever knit with. I just got her September 2024 color of the month (and a few others) and they’re just gorgeous. Happy making!
Beautiful sweater. So glad you finished it
The sweater is absolutely beautiful. 😍. One for myself is ready to start next haven't finished other projects. It is an inspiration that you finished. Love ya.
That "One of a kind" yarn is stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rhinebeck Roomies has become one of my go-to patterns for socks, and I recently used the pattern on a pair of fingerless mitts for my nephew. I used the pattern on a pair of socks for his boyfriend so they will sort of match.
Hello from Steinbach, Canada! 🇨🇦 🧶 🧦
The sweater is beautiful!! So happy you finished it!!❤
Wyatt's sweater turned out amazing!!!!
The sweater! I know what you mean about knitting brain space. Some projects are like that!
I’m very curious how the magic loop start works & looks!!
I am so happy for you. That sweater is great. I hear you that sometimes a project feels like a burden. Socks are so quick and efficient!
I love the littlest charm co stitch markers. I ordered several a couple weeks ago. Just waiting for them to ship.
Your hats are so good! I love the baby version. Started my first one inspired by you!
So pleased to see you have completed Wyatt's sweater. The socks and the small Musselburgh hat are lovely. 🇬🇧
The sweater is beautiful, congratulations! I need to get the Musselburgh hat pattern, FOMO 😂
I’m so glad you made the final push on the sweater, your son is going to be able to remember all your efforts when he wears it and you’ll have the joy of fulfilling his wish. I have several projects that need 1/2 a sleeve or a button band or other small finishing details so I TOTALLY understand needing to rant and put something in time-out until I can calm down 😅
The sweater is beautiful. Glad for Wyatt you finished it.
Congratulations on completing the sweater 😊 !
That baby musselburgh hat is the cutest baby knit! the color is perfect t.
The sweater you knitted for your son is so nice looking .I currently have a whip for my husband for a hoodie that involves cables. I love cables, but did not realize how tedious they are until you start knitting with them. I love all your projects shown
Yay for finishing Wyatt’s sweater!
The sweater is wonderful! Good for you!!😊
My “cheat” for the Musselburgh CO is to CO 4 sts and then kfb in each on the next round to get 8 and it looks great! Pull the tail and it makes a little X at the crown.
Ohhh perfect! I’m going to do that for my next one!
Always sock inspiration ❤. Love Wyatt’s sweater ❤
I’m going to give this a try.
It warms my heart to hear that you finished the sweater. Your love for this project will come from seeing your son wear the sweater. I was also at Wool Gathering for the first time. It was awesome!
The sweater looks amazing!
Congrats on Wyatt’s sweater! He will treasure that sweater always. 😊
Wyatts sweater is lovely, well done.👍😊🧶
Congrats on the sweater, it looks amazing. My boys are the same way about me sharing photos of them.
Your son’s sweater came out beautiful. I bet it was a big relief for you to have finished it!❤
Mostly rain on the last couple days with heavy wind here but I get Cody around the kitchen stove and knit and dry veggies in the oven to preserve them , also some herbs and it smells so lovely !
The sweater is gorgeous, and so intricate definitely labor of love! 👏
Great podcast as always 😊
The sweater is beautiful!
Gorgeous sweater 😍 I need to cast on another hat. Love that pattern.
The sweater is beautiful. Glad to see you finished it.
hi i always enjoy watching you
Love the sweater/color 😍
Love the baby hat, so teenie!
Well, good morning!
Well done on finishing that sweater! He is a lucky boy 😂 I have a question about sock cuff knitting, I like to have a firm cuff, more like a store bought sock but when I do them firm enough for my ankles I have a hard time fitting them over my heels. Do you have any tips/have you ever knit in elastic to your cuffs? I notice you favour a 2x2 rib, do you find that cinches in nicely?
I do find that a 2x2 fits really nice. 🧦
That sweater!!!! I would put it in a shadowbox frame so I could stare at it forever. Beautiful work! Kayla, do you always use size 0 for your fingerling weight yarns? Sooooo tiny.
I use size 0 for 9” circulars.
You must be knitting with both your hands and feet to get so much done. lol. Congrats finishing that beautiful sweater.🧶🧶🧶
Just squeeze it in every minute that I can. 🧶
I just told my daughter yesterday that I think I like Fall the best. Now that you mention it, I think I like it, and maybe others as well, is because of the general association with Fall. It is the time of year that most people get together with family - Thanksgiving/Christmas - whereas they maybe don't see each other as much during the year. Those gatherings bring all "back together" to remind us of what is truly important. It is usually a very happy time. I pray for those that the holidays are dreaded. That is sad. However, wishing a Happy Fall to all! Now, I gotta go work on my socks.
Oh I love that! And it’s so true, it starts a time of year of everyone gathering together. 🩷
I understand the thing with kids not wanting me to post their pictures. The way we’ve handled it is that I can post the pics if I crop out their heads or put a sticker over them. And I also, of course, don’t tag them.
Maybe this will help you.
Everyone should definitely do what works best for their family 🩷
The sweater is incredible!! I am pretty sure that a 'fit of contempt and slight rage' is actually included in every sweater pattern. Maybe it's in invisible ink? but its there for sure. lol
😂🤣 I think you’re right!!!
Congrats on all your making. I have a question about sock yarn, how do you tell if it’s self striping or not? When I go on vacation I try to buy a skein when we travel and I always forget to ask at the yarn shop till we are miles down the road. Thanks for your time.
Most will say if they are self striping on the label.
What did you purchase at Yellowsprings! That is a great fiber festival. I didn't go this year, but been a few years.
Lots of goodies! 🧶🩷
Yay! Wyatt's sweater is done. I tend to stall in the middle, at the place where there is just boring stockinette that goes on forever or never-ending repeats. When I see the end I get reinvigorated and am eager to finish.
That’s awesome! See I can do endless stockinette for ages and not get bored. 🤣
You did it! 🎉 You finished the sweater!!! I’m so proud of you - and happy for Wyatt.
PS - and it looks wonderful
Glad it’s officially fall where you are, it’s still 110+ in Phoenix. On the Musselburgh, would you do a provisional CO? Where can I find this other process? Thanks.
Hi! I wouldn’t do a provisional cast on as it wouldn’t be needed for this project. I’m not sure what other process you’re asking about? 🩷
@@CrazySockLady the magic loop process for the Musselburgh hat which is what I believe you were talking about in the video to avoid the fiddly CO. Thanks.
I am working on my first hat I used the cast on method that was in pattern took a couple times to get it but wasn’t bad
Awesome! Definitely do what works for you! 🩷
