त्रिपुरा के स्कूल में स्टूडेंट्स को AIDS बीमारी होने का गंभीर मामला सामने आया है. त्रिपुरा राज्य एड्स नियंत्रण सोसाइटी (TSSES) के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी के अनुसार, त्रिपुरा में एचआईवी से 47 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी हैं और 828 छात्र एचआईवी पॉजिटिव पाए गए हैं.
