Battery access was the one thing keeping me from installing actives in my strat build. I think I can now order my pickups. And a battery box. Thanks for this, subscribed. 😊
I fitted a battery box to my OLP Stingray and I used a forstner bit to remove the majority of the wood before I used the router to finish the job. This also stopped having bits of wood flying around
I’m doing it on my Strat’s body; I’m putting a single sized sustainer pickup between a DiMarzio X2N (bridge) & a DiMarzio D Activator X (neck), & I custom-ordered a Sustainer pickup to match my DiMarzio humbuckers, and it’s awesome…it’s a guitar I’ve been wanting to build since I was like 14 years old…with a dremel I’m routing the back beside the Stratocaster Spring cavity… like the Richie Sambora Stratocasters have for the 9V required for the Fender Active Mid Boost
I kind of wish you showed putting the battery into the box... Normally when I have to put batteries into things, I have to watch the battery in between a metal plate and a spring. But that battery box seems like it's some type of quick load battery thing, where I just drop the battery in and shut it
Love your videos. Any chance you might be able to make a tutorial on how to route a Les Paul style guitar for a Floyd Rose???? Unconventional I know, but it would be for a kit build not a real Les Paul 😂😂😂
Normally you can’t, the neck angle on a Les Paul make the bridge sit too high. On some bolt on guitars you can add a shim between the neck and body and re-angle the neck, but most Les Pauls are set neck so that’s not possible with them.
Bro. I hate to rain on your parade... You should do a follow-up video WARNING PEOPLE NOT MAKE THE SAME GUITAR TONE KILLING MISTAKE YOU MADE. BRO... YOU KILLED THE TONE ON THAT V BY REMOVING ALL THE WOOD BEHIND AND UNDER THE BRIDGE!!!!! WHY DO YOU NEVER SEE THEM PLACED THERE ON SNY PROFESSIONAL INSTALLS. Dude look up Eddie Van Halen's story of his Ibanez Destroyer he destroyed doing a similar thing.

Awesome video Mark!!! I guess I'll scrap my plans using a Dremel freestyle and blindfolded....lol.
A better way is to carve out the plastic backplate (if there's space for both the box and wiring), and use the BB-2. Click it on and glue.
About to try this on my Epiphone. Hopefully it's thick enough 😬
darn!.. just what I needed! thanks bro.
Thanks for this!!

👏👏👏
I want to add an outside attachable 9volt socket😂 reallly not tryna route a hole
Rather just drill a lil one for the leads
i might install one in my v300 it has the cut already done so
I don't understand why they don't cut grooves in cheaper range guitars so you can upgrade
Everyone wins
Yooooooo

PSR put 2 boxes directly under the bridge, on a $4,400 bass. I think he's fine
